  1. She's already gone to a friend of jigsaw off here. I've met jigsaw so there is no worries about the bitchs welfare. I can understand lads putting a price though to push away scum. He will collect bitch in a week or 2 and hopefully work well for the man. Money won't change hands.

  2. It's different for every single one of us, what floats your boat may not float mine. Even the work style is objective, some like them hard, some don't, as long as you're happy with the dog you keep I wouldn't give two fucks what anyone else thought, stamp or work style.

  5. I have been setting up my trailcam at various locations, trying to monitor routines and numbers of foxes, rabbits, pheasants etc. , very much hoping for some good shots in the process. Today when reviewing the past weeks footage I saw this and was totally shocked. The trailcam was tied to a stick and stuck in the ground where 3 fields adjoin and nearby a stream over the back of the house.

  10. ? Dogs are just like people,...some are tough as teak, whilst others,.. are not... We can breed for toughness and hardiness, of course,..but you have to work with the tools you have at your disposal, at the time... I grew up around hard-working sheep and cattle dogs, that were owned by even harder men...? In hindsight, they were treated abysmally,..and considering their value and usage to the stockman,..it was ridiculous how bad they were kept. Nowadays, I feel we are far more educated and enlightened, towards our canine partners. My dogs are now simply fireside pe

  14. Hi,..compared to my contemporaries, back in the 70s & 80s,.I've not owned that many...? I have worked most types and bred a fair few,..and obviously,...I have buried a fair few... Over the years, I have tried to keep the style of dog, best suited to the task at hand,.hence my harmless wee fireside curs of today...? Enjoyed most hybrids and crosses,...I've no one favorite,...they all served me well... ?

  15. I would put a small price on this dog unless its going to someone u no,or someone can vouch for them.people tend to have no respect for a free dog normally dog ends up on the merry go round in the wrong hands when there free.

  18. Hello, soon my eldest nephew will turn 10 years old So is there a better present for a boy than a knife? Here a small Wanderer with 80mm blade from 2,7mm 1.2442 stock. I still need to do the pommel, will be from brass. Handle is a 110mm so even for an adult ok, weights just a 100gr. Regards Nicolas

  25. Would you want to sleep on a hard mat with aching muscles? I know I’d rather be in a nice comfy soft warm bed.

  26. Would you like to sleep on a rubber matt? I have a few times and wasn’t pleasant ha. I certainly wouldn’t want to again so wouldn’t expect a hard working dog to either.

  28. You've been watching to many shitty gangster films mate I'd never trust a dog like that in a million liability that is and why somebody would want to put there dog into situations like that is beyond me a shepherd will bark if you want into or bite depends on the commands Some times a good loud bark will drop people to there knees with out anything else being done hence why there used by police security army etc a good dog should read a situation not just jump in all guns a blazing

  31. Short bolt throw and smooth action I agree. Compared to a cz455 I also agree. Compared to a cz452 I’m not so sure?. The 452 is so strongly engineered it’s tough to beat in that price range. If you look closely at the 455 compared to the 452 you can see where they kept the cost down. I didn’t like the look of the magazine on the t1x though. I don’t know what it’s like in use, but it looks and feels cheap and brittle to me, although the trigger felt nice. Only time will tell if it’s the tough as hell workhorse that the 452 was and still is. Just my opinion of course ?.

  32. The woodcock season and migration runs a little differently, here. They are on the move, now. By mid-Nov they will be gone, having moved further south to their wintering grounds. The last two days I have gotten in to them good. Tough to kill, living in the really thick, young saplings, but fun to try. We moved 48 yesterday and today. I managed to put 4 in the bag.

  38. Cheers bill but you don’t or couldn’t educate me ? .... now I know all about different dogs and their ability to withstand weather I have had lots of dogs that never flinched at the weather I even had a border terrier bitch that would find puddles to curl up in and sleep ... but the fact remains like all animals some no matter the breeding feel the cold more than others and need that extra help ... it really is that simple. Oh and wax paper works out pennies a week at £9 a bale that lasts months .......

  39. My shoot is in North Yorkshire near a town called Thirsk ( Sutton bank ) it’s on working forestry so the conditions for woodcock are near perfect, like bell said there’s a few about already so fingers crossed the numbers will be there in a few more weeks, like I said it’s a bit hit and miss and I have noticed the numbers dropping off over the last few years but sometimes you can push a drive through and more woodcock will come out than pheasant, best of luck with your shooting over here ?

  40. I’ve got the cz455 and its also a cracking rifle for the price and is very sturdy. Mines in 22. The mag on the T1X does feel and look cheap but so far it’s preformed ok, just make sure you keep it lubricated. I had an issue with the round not entering the chamber correctly a few times. May have just been me though? I could have bought another Cz in 17 but purchasing a new tikka for just under £500 was worth it.

  43. At the end of the day a good white dog is as good as any black/choc/red dog there's a certain level that can be reached by a working terrier, it's what level you want them to reach. My level may be different to others.

  44. Everyone has bad catches even self serving mole gurus like Jeff nichols however rather than moving on the important thing is to learn from it and not repeat the same mistakes its also best not to publicise as I fear those in charge will be under great pressure to scrutinise us mole catchers a lot closer in the future thats why the guild pisses me off they’re just making mole catchers fall out with each other when we should be more united
