We have been out a few times now and have had a bit of sport.we started my mates young dog and he went really well for his 1st time only half hour job but he done what he had to do in style.we dug a bitch belonging to myself in very hard ground using a heavy bar to dig the whole way down even the sharptooth would have been of little use in this ground but we got there and little bitch had it we'll in control. We out on Sunday past again and had 2 digs to a mates dogs so all going well so far.6 points

Go one better mines never even had a collar on @jigsaw ? when out lamping she walks to heel until I freeze with the lamp and give her command and she’s down the beam. I like working her with the gun too. I’ve never seen the problems that @vinmentioned but my dogs HAVE to have manners around others and socialisation at a young age sorts that out. She is the most loyal thing I’ve ever owned and is not interested in anything other than me and hunting which is fine ?5 points

I've never owned or seen anything else that comes near to my bitch when it comes to rabbiting however I know she is my "dog of a lifetime" I'm likely going to spend the rest of my life trying to get somewhere near what she is. I'd never put here anywhere near a fox it's not the done thing in my profession ?4 points

So pissing about with someone's livelihood is ok but any repercussions are a personal insult lol. Very rarely does anyone go back after a toe to toe ,all over a rabbit or a few branches lol. They find easier places . The fact is some people are shit poachers end of .The man that does it regular and leaves nothing but footprints has my respect but gangs leaving deer and game are no better than commen criminals.4 points

Hi all Completely new to working dogs. Got a lurcher from the pound a few months ago and I'm interested in taking him to get some rabbits. Would like to do it all properly and above board. Anyone know the area and where I'm able to take him and maybe seek permission? County Durham area, Chester Le Street.2 points

Snitch , grass ..... If you have an acquaintance or know someone who is at it and you tell the police that’s being a grass . Phoning in a crime isn’t . If your mum is having her house burgled and she phones the police that’s not being a snitch it’s reporting a crime . I don’t get paid enough to confront a car load of travelers, if I did I’d be an idiot! If someone takes the odd rabbit, so what , I can live with that . If you start to take the law into your own hands you will be the one getting your collar felt . Burning down farms ??? Arson possibly killing sleeping children ??? Good grief, ge2 points

If what he's doing is legal then why should he hide it? Obviously the antis won't like it but the antis don't like people in the UK hunting foxes/deer/rabbits and theirs plenty of pictures of them on here.2 points

Cold drafts are what kills birds,so have a section out the wind where they can roost with a roof over their heads and most british bred finches will be ok outside over winter,i had scaffold netting i'd pull down over the front of my aviaries if the wind got up and that lets light in but sure blocks the wind out.Rats did it for me last winter in my flights and i'm having a year or so off birds but my garden sure ain't the same without an aviary in it ?..2 points

Me too. I used to get up in the night to check on the kids while there was Lego all over the floor.2 points

I was kind of gutted at first because I like a dig, lol, but the bitch is useful enough and won’t hold you up if she enters there’s a fox going to bolt, a lot of men wouldn’t dream of owning such a terrier, at one time I was the same but she’s good at what she does so she has her place.2 points
