This old photo solved a mystery for me while I was researching my family history as I was told one of our family was killed on a railway while rabbiting by my sister. Twigged it when saw this photo of my Grans mother and father on the back of the photo was written "Jock was killed on the railway line catching a rabbit 1937". Their daughter my gran. Loved her more than my parents, never saw her as young as this. Cheers Arry10 points

Can see the benefits of a licensing system but struggle to see how it will prevent the ill treatment of either quarry or dogs by those who think either are for bigging up egos.A good dog is not a status symbol but something to be quietly proud of ,treated with respect and respected as a living being not a tool to be abused .I'e distanced myself from many a cruel c**t .9 points

This is my nans uncle who served in the Australian army WW1 I found his army records online & found out he was in Gallipoli , he was a minor up here & for some unknown reason he went to Australia to join up , he was 26 when he joined up quite old I believe photo must be about 1915/16.......I cant imagine what he witnessed in the trenches but he went on to serve in WW2 although I am not sure what role he played as he would be quite old by then This is Harrys Mom my nans nan, photo probably early 1900's god knows how they looked after a family8 points

No disrespect fella..but heres a fact.. only because of the NWTF & IWTF and there many meetings and submissions codes of conducts is the reason in UK and North and South of Ireland..you can legally use a single terrier to ground..you think these federations didn't put there neck on the line to PROTECT properly conducted terrier work..and what was portrayed in that programme is what these federations stood tall and totally condemned any types of animal cruelty face to face with the very folk who had a say..and because these federations stood up is the reason your hunting in Ireland..terrier3 points

Morton I fully understand where your coming from but sometimes you have to take two steps back to take one forward pal, I for one know how corrupt and unjust the system is and have been on the receiving end a number of times, but with your mentality pal we are where we are and we have to live with it. It's only going to get worse and if the royal family couldn't save fox hunting the NWTF etc aren't going to save terrier work and anyone who thinks they will are dillusional. We are fortunate to be able to put a terrier to ground so let's make the most with what we have got for as long as we can.3 points

I've never got more than a quid for a coney...sold fecking thousands,...and thousands, and... Problem is,..the British public just doesn't go for them, on masse,..ye can curry em, sweet and sour em,..do what ya fecking like, but the rabbit days are long gone. It is a crying shame, cos rabbit meat is fat-free and good honest tucker ... Mind you, I ain't-eaten a gravy rat in 30 years,.. I just couldn't stomach one...?3 points

Hark at you lot suggesting even more pressure put on our restricted enough already work with terriers...Ffs a few bad apples and you lot want us all having to tell the powers to be what, when and where we'll all be with our terriers and other dogs as if you think it would stay at just terriers rather than all dogs used for hunting then think again....3 points

Right this will sort that yard right out. Half a bucket of water and a few caps of jays fluid. Grab that ginger beard by the waist.ram his scruffy fecking head in the bucket and scrub feck out of the yard. 2 jobs done at the same time. 1. Nice clean yard. 2.ginger beard will be nit free and dandruff free.and the jays fluid will dilute the smell of stale piss for a few hours. Job done3 points

i can see the plus point of a licence, but it would be a minefield on who should get one , who would be in charge of issuing them , D.E.F.R.A, M.F.H , N.F.U Gamekeeper association the countryside alliance, BASC all of them ! i just can't see it working unfortunately but something needs doing edited to add maybe the NWTF working alongside others would be the answer2 points

......so I won't! Except that I hate being tied to a bottle! Anyway having a co2 pistol sitting around and a PCP of the same modular parts got my pea sized brain fired up. I morphed the pistols co2 chassis to the rifles barrel and stock to give me a handy intermediate rifle of around 9ft/lb output. The blasted thing is so accurate I should be able to head shoot birds to 25+yards with it! And it gives 40 shots per itty bitty bulb of laughing gas and is very very quiet. Good for garden duty. Am I mad, well yes, as if you needed reminding! Now if I want t2 points

have to agree that most food produced in any sort of factory is sheite but FFS, we, as animals, have to die at some point, why try to live to be 100 years old without the joy of a bacon sarnie, a hot dog smothered in mustard in a white bread roll, enjoy life but accept the fact that at some point it ends2 points

Sorry to hear about the broom ,but don't pay extortionate prices for a new one ,especially when emotions are running high. I always find the best come for little money or nowt . I took mine from a site labourer that was careless and not looking after his the way he should have been. I think I done it a favour . Chin up pal I'm sure some one in the game may be along soon and will help you out maybe a council road sweeper that has only leaned on his a short while.2 points

It’s hereditary in some families as that same fellas father got knocked out cold on my fathers doorstep in the 70s after giving my father a mouthful about how his dog had killed his sheep and he’d shot said dog and he needed x amount of pounds and he wasn’t leaving till he got it, all the while my fathers dog was curled up in his kennel. He never came knocking again. Lol.2 points

Barrie , its just another nail , i don't know but i'm sure they picked the ones they did to portray terriermen , as thick knuckle dragging morans these lot were as it serves their purpose , with a tory party of spineless wonders and a labour party as far left as i can remember , we all have a hell of a job on our hands , but you and your team are in the frontline will have to face them , if we can help in anyway don't be shy in asking,2 points

Sadly as I see it….. it is yet another case of history repeating itself. It’s not the first time that a very small and unrepresentative minority who have, by their actions and callous behaviour/attitudes dragged terrierwork into the gutter and beyond. Unless I’m very mistaken, the 1990’s clip which was shown related to what those who were about at that time still refer to as the "Builth Wells Case". In that instance, despite the fact that pretty much everything surrounding that case was already illegal, the actions of those involved came across as being so callous and their action2 points

True, but it would give the honest decent lads something to protect their names with. It's never been any different, in my lifetime all you've had to do is buy yourself a terrier and "just like that" you're a terrier man ! We all know different but if there was some sort of system behind terrier work like a licence, something that you had to serve a bit of time on the bank with an older an wiser terrier man before you could strike out on your own then IMO terrier work would be in a better place. Truth be known I had to learn everything the hard way myself, I was just as dull and j2 points
