  4. This dog was 1st x collie/greyhound X saluki/greyhound,bought in 1984 in nottingham at a game fair..his grandsire was Merle ,Plummers dog...he was one of the best if not the best ive ever had,he took very decent bags of rabbits night after night when the conditions were in.retrieved pheasant like a gun dog and every rabbit alive to hand..he took many fox single handed and was an all round great dog...i believe the mix of saluki was highly beneficial to his make up,long nights of graft with 40 plus rabbits at the time were not uncommon..i was very proud of that dog i must say

  11. The most wealthiest cult in the world. Own huge swathes of prime land in cities and have investments running into billions.wealth that would make Solomon blush. Few years ago god's banker was found hanging off London bridge apparently god father 3 wasn't a fictional thing. They have given out millions in hush money to families of kids who were abused by there priests. The whole institute needs shutting down. If that had been the scouts or the boys brigade or any other institute there would have been public enquiries and inevitable disbanding.

  15. ? I've experienced more variables and uncertainties with the Herding based hybrids, than any other lurcher type... I grew up around crossbred canines and sundry curs,..brought them with me from rural Wales when I settled darn sarf, and then,..abandoned the type, for many years. The tasks laid out before me had changed drastically, so I had to adapt my way of thinking,... or like the dumb old Dinosaur,... I would not have prospered... Nowadays, I am old and frail, so have returned wholeheartedly, to the fold,... I doubt I'll go awol again...?

  23. Collie greyhounds aren't for everyone thank goodness i think people have the wrong perception of them there a complex type of dog very intelligent and in some cases more intelligent than their owners they're not a dog to be left locked in a kennel all day or all summer like some poor dogs are they need work and mental stimulation Regards Collie John

  24. Totally agree with you collie John ,it’s like a modern version of medieval times , after the ban it attracted to many people that wanted to do it as illegal , or people that were to blatant about it, add the teens setting their dogs on animals in local parks /football pitches it’s all bad press , there’s to many nosey people with a phone camera and then you got the fur baby brigade constantly looking for things to post about on Facebook . years ago you could walk with air rifle an if caught with edible vermin either just get sent on or giving abit of rabbiting or ratting permission now wh

Bill I don't look at it has evolution hunting has gone backwards to many do gooders modern technology ie camera phones CCTV and stupid laws have ruined the lurched game alot of lads especially the coursing lads have thrown the towel in its just not worth all the agro I feel sorry for the younguns coming into the lurcher game today the halcyon days of our sport are behind us alot of young lads are misguided about dogs and quarry and go down the wrong road which is a shame the lurcher game is f****d the type of dogs people will keep in time will change to more mooching types unless you want to k

  27. I'm rather partial to a good drop of collie blood. The reason for using collie in a lurcher falls into two camps. First, to turbo charge the collie and secondly to add engine management to a sighthound. If you fall in the first camp, then a half cross (or there abouts) is a fine creature to work with.If its the second case, then most working breeds will surfice in adding that bit extra to a running dog. If your not going to use the key attributes of a collie AND can get on with their nature, better crosses are out there. JMO

Due to my white bitch picking up a shoulder injury and hopefully she will make a full recovery I picked this little mite up yesterday, I thought worst case scenario I'd be better looking at the replacement than looking for him later in the season,so here's to a full recovery and a new partnership so meet Marshall. 32. Australia's government has announced that in July 2019 it will ban the use of cash on all purchases over $10,000. The move is to "encourage the move to a digital society" and "to cut down on tax evasion." Streamlining of commerce and security or has the debit card finally become the ultimate surveillance tool?

  33. At times up here, the hardest part is finding stuff to run. We need dogs that will hunt like spaniels, clever, hungry runners (as my grandad called them) and a coat and physique that will brush off the worst the weather and the terrain can throw at them. Line bred, collie grew saturated dogs tick all those boxes for me.

  38. Was in greenhouse today potting seedlings for my hanging baskets. Got some chilies on the go and sorted my strawberry plants. I do like a nice garden with a bit colour in the summer. Sowed daisy's sweet Williams coming on good. Even bought a new solar lighthouse other day. It's pretty bright too. Other week I found a cracking piece of driftwood on the shore. It's in the front garden where I put an artificial bonsai tree in it. Looks good. Planted a pear tree few weeks ago. Tbh not sure if it's going to take. Just a cheap £5 job so no great loss if it does di

  41. I'm not kennel blind pal I'm passionate about the type of dog I keep which are collie greyhound people seem to forget the quarry and type of dog bred for that task ie collie greyhounds rabbit and feather I'm not arsed about foxes you can keep your bull types for that that's what there better suited for I'm not getting in a debate over different crosses its each to their own the thread is about collie greyhounds Regards Collie John
