  11. I didn't mean get people in North Northumberland to vouch for you. Get friends on here to vouch for you or people here who know people who's dogs you have helped or who's land you have work on or who you've worked with in Suffolk. North Northumberland has a lot of poachers and unless you want to join them it won't be an easy place to get a foot in the door for a stranger.

  13. Best line with the green party is to ask their position on angling. The people who organise the party all want to see an end to angling eventually but they skirt around the issue like eels because angling is such a huge pastime for ordinary people. Assuming a hunting ban can never happen is a big mistake and it's why hunting is now banned in the UK. Everyone said "look at all of us, we're huge, we're traditional, with our level of support it can never happen". Well it could, it did, and it could again in northern Ireland. Don't get too complacent.(Get the anglers on your side)

They aren't all like that mate,i have known people in countries where every single thing has to be paid for, each headache tablet,sticking-plaster and stroke of a pen,you mightn't believe it and I know its raw (I have lost someone through lung cancer, started as breast and spread) but we are very fortunate in this country with the NHS hence the number of NHS tourists who come here to avail of the facilities we have,we are stretched however, but still better than the alternative, some countries you don't get into a hospital door without showing you have funds to cover treatment.

Thats not just all Fashioned racisim thats a fact. They can apparently say whatever they like and its ignored. Where some c**t slags them off online and the cops are around dragging them out there beds and off to court. Hes a filthy c**t for pissing in the cop car and years ago if you had done that the cops would have pulled into a layby and kicked yourre c**t in for it. Before taking you to the charge

  24. Aye well I can hand on heart say I didn't expect him to do what he managed to in his life. He caught every quarry I tried him on. He was however a massive liability at times, and had a desire to hunt and kill like no other dog I've owned. He was very much his own animal and if he didn't want to go hunting with you or whoever was there he'd just go and do his own thing. He was an embarrassing knob at times. I wanted to strangle him many many times, and i'm not sure if I could have him again I would. But he was the best whippet I've ever seen. And he caught stuff for me on all ty

"Does that help your concentration, then ?" I asked. "No" he said. "It makes me want to stay here for another couple of days !"

  31. The idea of "the NHS", as most of us think of it, is gone, and the long term future is bleak, for 'free' healthcare, I feel. We have individual entities - foundation trusts - operating on an independent basis. Around 1/3 of treatment services are now provided by private companies, who have also monopolised catering, cleaning and security. A lot of trusts are financially crippled by private finance initiatives, something else to blame Blair for, and find themselves on the brink of bankruptcy...........how can a publicly-funded hospital be millions of pounds in debt ???? I think there

  32. After I'd walked and fed the dog, for a change from the usual fry-up I did myself 2 fried egg and bacon rolls with tomato ketchup. Dog normally gets the bacon fat and licks the plate so he was somewhat disappointed with todays grub. All agreed then, that the egg has to have runny yolk.

  38. Following on from my last thread about the uncanny number of digs I'm getting this year compared to other years I stumbled upon what could be (to use youth jargon) a bit of a 'life hack' when digging once you have breached the pipe. I had one dig last week where I simply couldn't find the bunny in either direction down the pipe so, in a moment of inspiration* I turned my phones camera on and filmed inside the burrow in either direction. To my joy, I could see a hairy backside that was sitting in the top of the pipe, almost as if it was on a shelf or the start of a new

Letts face it though love him or loath him Plummer did have an impact with his book writing and I confess to having a good few of his books including a first edition of rouges and running dogs wich imho was a book that most lurcher lads back in the day had on their shelfs though in all honesty non of his lurcher books came close to the number 1 classic lurcher book of all time imho lurchers and longdogs by the late Ted Walsh.

  43. This thread has gone well off topic. The HMR is an ideal long range rabbit rifle, which does little damage to meat with head and upper chest shots. Having said that the anti brigade are winning. Otters are getting out of control, but we can't touch them, same with cormorants. My club tried to get a license to shoot them, but it was like trying to push water up hill. I keep quiet about my shooting. "Rabbits and fox. How could you? I thought that you were a nice person!" etc. Just wait until they find out about the thousands of peasants being buried after shoots, because even the game dealers do

I always believe that plummers works of fiction showed a sneering contempt for his fellow hunters and that they allowed his flights of fancy to be unchecked in Lepus, the main protagonist is a school teacher named Brennan whose first cross collie greyhound is a master of all disciplines..... i wonder who that he is based on? In trog , the lurcherman is scum the diggers are shown as dullards, the patterdale is psychotic, the fell
