Saluki lurchers I keep mate, I just enjoy a wind up with the coursing boys they’re a sensitive bunch most of them. Ive seen a few very good coursing bred runners owned by honest lads, but I’ve seen a lot more bad ones. To me the big names, Lucas, Bulldozer etc etc count for f**k all most I saw including the ones I've owned myself couldn’t lace the boots of a home bred lurcher x lurcher. Major faults being they run things for too long & spend a lot of time laid up injured. I like a wind up same as we all do but I’m always honest about dogs, that doesn’t suit a lot of coursing

So, we have came back to the sheep farm for that buck, walked the long way around because the wind was all wrong, spotted him in next doors wheat making his way to our side, we lost sight of him so moved to the bottom of the field, Hugo’s dad seen him coming through the hedge when we were expecting it to be in the grass field next to us. So it didn’t offer a shot, just looked at us face on before hopping the gutter and away, if it wasn’t such a magnificent beast I would of head shot it also if we had stayed where we were when we first seen him the shot would of been on, I’ve now remembered why

Not too old mate for definite but I’ll damn sure pick my places lol. When I was younger ,nothing phased me earth wise and I relished a 4 m dig .Nowadays a 1.2 is a good un . Around me lads don’t want to know to be honest bar a very small minority and I’ve taught a few of them that are now good lads in their own right .When I was mad for it ,I was very conscious of my own mortality and made sure I passed on what I see as the right way to do things .Nowadays dosnt seem so important .

Looking good, i used to work away, money was great but lifestyle was shit so found a job closer to home alot less money but I'm out with the dogs as and when I want and much happier for it.

I had little time for hunting lately because I have been very busy due to family expanding (my first daughter, hopefully she will become a huntress ?) and to some work responsibilities. However, I managed to stalk 2 nice boars (a good size 4-5 years male and a gold medal old tusker). The green grass of the spring was irresistible for them and the full moon provided enough light for my trusted Leica Magnus 2.4-16x56. The first one is the young male. A very well developed for his age. I feel sorry somehow for hunting him, a male like this will become a gold medal in another ~3 years.

I think your wrong about the last part.The top breeders bred what they were using. Perhaps you meant top peddlers. I had sons of Colby's Sam and grandsons.Good hogdogs nothing more.My buddy (atthetime)used them in hogdog catch competition when legal.I never spent a dime with Colby.I had a local friend .He bought them up and later gifted me most of them.Good hogdogs nothing else.You can find adult cold colby dogs for hog hunting usually for free from a greenhorn.I always considered it foolish to purchase a pup on bulldogs..The answers to the good ones are in the reports Mr Gnas

Had the grandkids and daughter - in law over to day, 10am - 2 30pm, there handful lol, the girl near 3 year old, the boy 15 months old. Brought woody to see them, he was there dog before, so they happy to see him. The lad strong little bugger. He nearly pulled out 36in telly of the table stand, not that light more so for little boy. Woody OK with them but that's why we ended up with him, the mom does well with them, I love them but glad 2 30pm came around phew. Lol

Agreed mate .Gave up on shows 10 years back .I agree the names don’t matter but as a generalisation ,most types go back to the names if traced far enough .The only reason I describe mine as big name crosses is for want of another name to call it and the fact they were sourced direct if not very close to the root . Glad to hear you are still at it ,my back won’t allow a full day anymore but the mind is still willing .Got two here that will be my last as it ain’t fair on them not getting the graft they are bred for .
