every year where we are they hold a street drag racing event like (street outlaws) they close one of the main streets for it to run, there's road going cars up to the pro's... iv'e taken lots of pics.....i really like the big v8 engines, also the sound and power of them....the red corvette is driven by a paraplegic guy.....he steers it with a butterfly steering wheel in his right hand, they strap his legs in, and he has a pressure pad in between his teeth as the throttle the more he bites down the faster he goes....his run was brilliant....126mph at just over 6 seconds....14 points

As I interprate the rules in France, collars can be used, but not in the pursuit of hunting, only in the job of finding a lost terrier. ie: you cant search for a dog to be able to dig it for hunting. But when you have lost your dog, you can switch on the finder to retrieve your dog. IMO this keeps the fieldcraft alive of listening.finding a dog at work without being lazy and switching on an electronic device. Apparently it was the french who voted against the use of electronic collars for HUNTING. But ok for RESCUING. Also the country has a strong sense of solidarity. Just look at wha11 points

Go over and speak to them. They may only be after acouple of bunnies and could help you out in the long run by helping keep an eye on the land. If there the nuisance type smashing gates fence ruining livestock then go over and tell them to leave if they don’t you have to options. Fight or walk away . phoneing the police isn’t ready a good option as will just give cause for them to get there own back this escalating the problem5 points

Your in the right part of the country to bring a dog on pal, plenty about, maybe knock a few doors and get yourself some permission first, then you could invite someone who knows their stuff out to show you the ropes?dont be in no rush, just take your time?. Im sure you will land on your feet. Atvb4 points

Firstly remember the law.... The dog is only chasing rabbits mate Secondly plenty good advice already given. Take your time with the pup and give it some easy catches. A dummy covered with a rabbit skin is a good start.3 points

People go all glassy-eyed when they hear lottery win but realistically how much would you have to win to be at a point where you can live to the standard you are now, never mind to a point where you don't have to worry about money? I wouldn't knock winning a million but after you've secured the roof over your head I doubt you'd be in a position where you can give up working for a living. Let's say you work until you're 65. What's the amount of years you have left to work multiplied by your annual salary? Account that for inflation? I'd be looking at 20+ years and that's just to maint3 points

I’ve got a year old non ped to ped whippet and he is an annoying dick around the house the but the most natural ferreting dog I’ve ever owned. Only took him last winter as the older dog had a horrific accident and was out of action for months (he is fine now) thought he would be a bit young really but he was a complete natural. Never had a dog mark so well, me and my old man were going in the snow and had 4 from a set and were picking up and he just keeps marking a hole away from the main warren so pop a ferret back in rabbit duly bolts he catches it, that was a regular achievement for him des3 points

I know , the local dog lads who if I were not on good terms with would no doubt be all over my patch like a rash . But I’ve got them on board. They help me clear out my pens prior to release. We also do fox drives . I also let them do some “bushing . They love having a bit of permission (makes a change for them ) they say it’s great to work their dogs and not be looking over their shoulder. I also go Lamping rabbits with them . A couple even got themselves a spaniel and started beating. They are now an asset to the shoot and not a nuisance. A couple are also a bit of a handful and because the3 points

We don't have a bounty in NSW but heaps of foxes.I use Russells to flush from dens, drains and blackberries. Not many around my way dig as ground is like cement in most places so patterdales are in small numbers.Use shotgun or running dogs to deal with them once out.3 points

Its an odd advert. What makes them so extreme and how are they bred? I never understand though why people fuss so much about the price. Its £200, hardly going to break the bank is it? Theres pairs of boots on here selling for more than that and no one complains? I think its a fair price for clean healthy looking pups.3 points

Called in my local and found he had no eley HV HP! But wait! He did have one box of federal game show 22 HP HV ( I love an excuse to experiment) and some CCI velocitors. And and and some federal 22 WMR 30grn Speer TNT's! Been wanting to try them for ages! And and a cap holder for my caplocks. But best of all....a tin of eley wasps, yes eley wasps, no not the new poor copies, eley's. Perfect for my little Chinese delight of an air rifle, twang bang and smoke, just like when I were a lad ? Purpose-bred, non-ped race whippets, are possibly the most aesthetically pleasing of all the smaller types of running dog... I've used several over the years,..they always give 100%...2 points

The law states they mustn't use a locator, our law says we must, it's not about who's doing it right, it's about jumping through hoops to hang on to what we've got left. Given a choice I'd always always use a locator, you'd have to be retarded not to, stop kissing arse and use common sense, the terriers safety comes first. From what I hear terrier work in France is just about hanging on by it's fingernails, sadly I'm old enough to have been around when terrier work saw its demise in the UK, it had more to do with video recorders than locator systems.2 points
-
Or perhaps the French aren't dull enough to put marked up dogs on the net ! Why not have the best of both worlds, use a collar but have a time limit before it's deemed necessary to locate it for a rescue ? That way you could keep your tradition alive and have the best interest of the terrier at heart too.2 points
