  4. Out for a wander this morning on some fields I haven’t been to for a long time, I wasn’t expecting much and I wasn’t disappointed ? a few wildie pheasants and a handful of hares, I flushed a small group of pheasants that I managed to walk into a corner of a hedge back, giving them no option other than to break cover, both barrels and a cock and a hen down, anyone who knows me and my shotgun ability would be amazed at this, walking down the bottom of the fields to check out the beck side for foxy goings on ( I’ve shot a lot of foxes on here ) I put a big hare up, missed with the first but conne

  12. I met a cougar once, I was not long qualified and had sort guidance with preparing a body for "Rose Cottage", a nurse of indeterminate years offered me assistance but once finished as i squeezed past her in an attempt to leave the side room she pounced upon me?. As you can imagine I was taken somewhat aback, one with how quickly she could move her hands as i attempted to defend myself, like an octopus? but more so that there was a dead body in the room with us? Definitely a dangerous and unpredictable creature...........................

  27. Huge respect for rats myself .Done a few over the years and seen some truly heroic things when they are up against it .We had one the garden last week .Dug under the decking where the bird feeder is .Found it dead yesterday killed by the terriers .Seen them up trees eating bark ,running along overhead power cables ,swimming lakes and diving for 50m or so .Seen a few take the fight to a ferret . Took the dogs out late last night and there’s rat prints across the middle of a field out back of ours in the snow . Supposed to be rat shooting tonight but it’s snowing hard here again now .

I think I had seven days in total with the dogs after boar, red deer, mouflon and Barbary sheep. I even had an evening thrush shooting in the olive groves.

  33. You can have my two mate, save you buying a pup. Game, obedient, live in or out. Don't take much feeding or grooming. Downside, one is 14 and a half , and needs to pee three times during the night. Her daughter, 11 and a half has the occasional seizure. She is also the worst jumper I've ever had and often needs stitches. Apart from that they have served me well. Throw in that Staghound of yours and we've got a deal. I'm robbing myself, but for a fellow THL member I'm prepared to do the deal. Meet you around Hexham to,swap?

  39. hope you get a nice pup out of it, whippet are deff good rabbit dogs, i had nice none ped racing whippet bitch 20 in 20 lb, fast , caught few rabbits nice little bitch, some of the males at the track hit 22in 32 lb strong little dogs that pile into foxes if yo let them lol. over in UK England we get some cold wet weather , so the whippet here can find it hard at times with our weather, that where the old lurcher job comes in, bit of beddy or drop of wheaten in a whippet x lurcher to giv bit of a better coat and bit of bone, they still knock over rabbits easy, nothing touch pure whippet of
