This is a quarter of a Chicken which I bought for Christmas dinner but as I had a cough and a cold I could not have dinner with my sister and brother in law. My brother in law is getting over Cancer and his immune is very low due to chemo treatment. So this 9lb Chicken which I had off a mate who grows them free range in a orchard. So I cut it into quarters and froze them. That quarter weighed over two and a half pounds and the legs are over one and a half. Was bloody delicious. Cheers Arry8 points

After early release from my seasonal house arrest due to good behaviour and a break in the weather I decided to celebrate with a trip to the shoot, on arrival, approximately half 8, the night looked perfect, No moon, very dark with a slight breeze, I headed to my favourite stand at the bottom of the field where I can see right along the oak wood and a fair bit of the tip drive to my left. As I set the caller 60 paces in front of me I heard a fox bark, I had no idea where it came from because me hearing is terrible but thought sexy vixen was worth a go. After half an hour or so with vixen in h7 points

Just been out for a decent mooch local an passed over local golf course back to my yard. As I come through the bit of wood I've seen a roe deer deep in the cover of the wood. So just messing about a thought Al see if my parson bitch can start tracking the roe. So I've took her into the wood soon as she's got to the point where the roe was her nose was down deep into the mouldy leafs. Am thinking she's never guna get onto this lol. But this bitch proved me wrong she's took me all the way through one wood in an out of all the undergrowth an fallen down tree to come out at the other end. "An wife4 points

The farms I shoot are always good for a walk and call but I’ve definitely got a few places where it’s best to wait it out and call them in, sometimes it can be a couple of hours before it produces a result bit of pigeon shooting today on the rape at the sheep farm, they are not decoying very well, but there’s loads about and I’ve actually hit a few ?4 points

? You are quite right there Guss. Facts are,.. some folks should not bother with ferrets, (or dogs for that matter..)? These critters just ain't for them,.. and when things become difficult or their enthusiasm wanes,.. the poor animals frequently suffer. Hopefully, you will reassure the ferret that life really ain't all bad,.. but, do be prepared for, a less than reliable final conclusion....? Keep at it,.. all the best,.. OldPhil..?4 points

A little tip I'd thought I would try out for anybody wild camping bushcraftin or cooking outside. When I went under tarp last night my burgers made an awful mess in frying pan. So I thought I would try baking paper in the pan. Got some baking paper from pound shop for guess what a pound lol. Drew round base of my frying pan and cut out and just a touch of oil on top. Sausages never stuck once , cooked evenly. When finished just chucked paper and a quick wipe with a bit of paper towel. Makes washing the pan out ten times easier when up on moors and limited water supply. Costs pence and is ultra4 points

This is going on about a mile or so from me, the main Bristol to Birmingham railway has been removed to reinstate the old stroudwater canal,, I should be able to travel through this tunnel within the next two years all being good, big project, all the castings were made on site and they have the biggest mobile crane in England lifting them in, been working round the clock through Christmas ?3 points

was out on an invite to beat covers with teckels over the christmas period. To say i was impressed was an understatement, we ended up blowing a lot of deer from covers great tongue all day steady out.you get to see a lot of the hunting in front of you during the day, bolted a fox,and had to dig to another, the teckel bitch was well able to handle game below ground when we broke through.great to see these little dogs work.10 out 10 for effort.3 points

We just changed an old iron bridge at Christmas, pulled it off by the skin of the teeth as they miscalculated the weight of it, we had a 800 tonne crane for the job and it only just pulled the lift off. We could hear the crane driver on the radio to the banksman, he was calling our company every cnut under the sun, funny as fcuk.3 points

At least your out , I'm actually better today and going to work. Trying to shoot woodies on winter rape is a right pain especially if they are flocked up , 1 shot and they're gone. Good luck but it's just nice to be out of the house ?3 points

Wonder what would happen if one of the judges, ex peelers, soldiers or anyone else who's allowed to carry a personal weapon over here , shoots a couple of these thinking they was 'provos' coming to get them ... Wonder what would happen in the courts .3 points

We have a few pig units around us and they do attract foxes but the one time I went to York was an eye opener, where it was wasn’t far from some houses and the lad said they just keep coming, he lives in Doncaster and won’t give it up because there always foxes there, the greedy bugger won’t let me in on the action ether ?3 points

Just goes to show how weak an pathetic the British an Irish goverment are, complete limp wristed wankers. Compare us to European countries that hunt,an were a laughing stock, can't even control vermin with dogs. There's no backbone left were taking shite from the goverment for too long, theyre supposed to be f***ing work for us an do our bidding, not the other way about. We need to do something, mps have to much power3 points

The other day I went after a rabbit with one of my flintlocks. Failed to get a rabbit, it was so damp and miserable. Trying to manage a flintlock in those conditions is a real challenge. Sure enough, the one rabbit I had a chance no fire. It was whilst stalking rabbits and having a misfire that I spied a fox coming my way. Full of doubt over the damp lock I got down and waited for a shot. When the fox was 30yds and side on I shot but all I got was a flash in the pan. The fox bolted. I laughed and thought how privileged a fox is today to witness a flash in the pan from a fl2 points

I think you have misunderstood the lad, I think he means in the publics eye. At the end of the day the majority of people these days are alarmed at folk wanting to kill animals for sport, it's the sign of the times.2 points

On the firmer ground yes you will see a faster course hare and dog will hit faster speeds , on the wetter ground if you took both same hare and dog you will see a totally different course and yes it will be tough going for both but the hare will have advantage due to dog being more heavier to get across ,some dogs run well on the firmer ground but don't do well on the wetter land and vice versa. good dog will handle whats ever put in front on any land . A lad I know runs a saluki whippet grey bitch she does realy well on the firmer ground she a fast attacking dog but on the wet land or pl2 points
