  1. Morning all, I don’t come on here as often as I used to but thought I’d drop on and share some images from my current trip to Spain. I am out here hunting and photographing various working dogs for a fortnight all over the country. On Thursday I hunted with various Rehalas on one of the most important monteria in the country. Throughout the day we were always in full view of the sanctuary de la Virgen de la Cabeza, patron saint of hunting and as such the area was sacred and meant a lot to the hunters present. We took around 25 red deer, 20 fallow deer, 15 boar, 3 foxes and 2 mouf

  2. Unfortunately true...? Facts are,.. whether a man and his running dawg are ultra polite and show the utmost respect,.. the Farming community (and the UK Law itself),.. will not allow the pursuit of Hares with gazehounds, to flourish... So, as a one time rural rebel myself, I can understand hunting men who say, 'feck you' and continue to indulge in their passion. Such characters feel as though they have nothing to lose,.so they behave in the manner that they suppose they are expected to behave in.. In truth, they work darn hard at playing the part...? Personally, I will alw

  9. Out this morning with Bert in search of the wily old pheasant, a truly wild bird unlike its dopey released cousins. These birds are unreal spotting you from hundreds of yards away and off in a crack. Not much about this morning but managed my first woodcock of the season which Bert flushed from a hedgerow ? Then he stopped by a bramble patch , stood on his back legs and scented the air , I knew this meant a pheasant so urged him on and in he went and flushed a cracking cock bird ?

  14. As much love, respect and appreciation as we all have for fallen soldiers its hard to stomach a society that demands that for 1 day of the year we act all patriotic and proud of the sacrifice men made to stop invasions that would change our lives.....but the other 364 days of the year we are so ashamed and embarrassed that we now welcome invaders with open arms..........in my opinion its all a bit of a piss on the chips to them brave, heroic people.....a fake thankyou if you like.

  26. Took my Pedersoli 10g out today. Loading it with 1&1/4oz of #5 shot it downed a fast departing pheasant. I passed on the hens. A couple of crows and squirrels fell to it alas I missed a few crows and pigeon. I observed a male goshawk and a peregrin working the pigeons on maize stubble which was interesting. Also found small fallow slots! That's new for here! Made a fire and had a rest. Back out later lamping but I'm so tired now zzzzz

  27. Some do if there a bit simple lol, it’s the best way of ruining decades of good breeding imo, greyhounds got no coursing brain, bad feet and very poor wind

  28. So there was around 25 Rehala present (packs) each comprising of around 12 collar (couple). At the start of the day you all meet up and the hunt organiser comes and gives you your starting points. The outright goal is to drive to the guns who shoot trophy boar, bucks and stags etc. However a lot of boar don’t flush and a lot of deer crash etc. These are fair game for the dogs. The hillside we was on had four Rehala who made our way up in turn, Rehala one released and headed to top of hill, followed by Rehala two who headed 3/4 way up, Rehala three 1/2 way up and Rehala one stays just a quarte

  30. Hi Gypsydog My apologies, I don't come on here very often, but I'm not sure why it wouldn't allow me to receive messages (maybe I need to have a bit of a clear out in my inbox ?). Thank you for wanting to join/support the NWTF, unfortunately as has already been said above, its membership does consist solely of Working Terrier Clubs (or similar type organisations). Nevertheless, it's good to know that there are folks out there who are willing to dip their hands in their pockets in order to protect the future of terrierwork, as well as offering their support. Unfortunately, to try

  45. They get dropped on this farm regularly. As soon as I get a message "the quad was up here last night" I go get it! Clearly a town fox. It never even looked at me squealing but was slowly making for the farm yard to scavenge. Its cruel really in my opinion.

  46. Had a Hancock once. I'm not a fan either. Lacked any drive.. I always preferred to breed my own. worker to worker. Perfect for me now having heavy collie blood though. IV got my "aim an fire" bitch but I'm not getting any younger an don't do anywhere near what I used to. Laws got insane. So an ol cur companion that looks like a mongrel kicking about the bushes an capable on a lamp is ideal for me these days.
