Well, released it and it flew away…..what happens now is entirely down to nature. Bit of rest and some decent grub was obviously what it needed.9 points

That's the way I now see it. You can't have a housing crisis and allow three quarters of a million people in at the same time. You can't want 'to protect the nhs' and dump three quarters of a million people in to it. Towns and cities become unrecognisable, people move to new build estates and buy a 20 grand car....suddenly they are trapped in a debt prison and a lifestyle prison that the only way to maintain it is to keep working, keep growing, keep paying, don't rock the boat don't step out of line, don't disagree with what's happening as your credit card bill needs paying. Back to feed this afternoon after another member did Sunday, he decided to have a family day out up there ( basically bothering birds instead of just feeding and leaving them to it ?) with the young lad and the missus, I’d given him a long winded text on where to feed, when I got there 90% of the feeders were empty and there wasn’t a scrap of wheat in any of the feed areas, so after feeding and the birds following me about because they were that hungry I thought I’m going to have to ring him to find out what he’s done. He said, he’d used 2 bags of wheat at each pen ( I use 5 at each pen every5 points

? A worthless man will always find someone to blame for his own laziness. The type of white man mentioned above needs lynching on the courthouse square. Since I believe there is different races then I am a racist.Thats not the same as white supremacy.I don't think whites are superior. If I got arrested tomorrow I would probably hire a Jewish lawyer. If I need an outboard for my boat it will come from Japan. The best pocket knives come from Solingen germany.Never bet against a Mexican at a chicken knife fight.Southern blacks can cook barbecue better than anyone. If I needed to create a v5 points

The answer is simple. You won't understand, you live in a city where everything is provided for you via dirty diesel trucks. Where vermin controllers turn up in their dirty diesel vans discreetly to poison your rats. You, bless you won't understand the ways of the countryside. Even the government recognises the need for firearms in the public domain. They must henceforth know more than you. So don't worry about it and return to your people watching. Bye.5 points

Pup from his latest litter. Not bought for your guys uses. Rescues wouldn't let us have one as we don't have an 500 acre garden with 9ft titanium fencing, an orchard of extinct exotic fruits and both work more than 23 minutes a week. Cost more than I wanted at 500 but I know people paying 4k for spaniels at the moment. Jeff's eccentric and conditions not ideal but my last dog (beddy whippet) lived under a car in a Lincolnshire farm when I bought her, these dogs attract these types. The dog himself is very switched on, very experienced professional local t5 points

I think you have to understand what is happening in the UK and England in particular. We are a small over crowded island and enough people to fill a medium sized city are brought in each year. My local town has gone from being a typical Lancashire town to being a 3rd world hell hole in 20 years. It was an English town where we got along with other people as well as anyone can....now, except for the Catholic schools, every single school is majority non white with English not the first language. Please don't ever think the words spoken on here are driven by racism or hatred. They are often4 points

Exactly the same for me Phil. I had a few months off work back in the early 80s and I was up Airton twice a week, we caught a lot of rabbits, drunk a lot of beer and had a lot of laughs. R.I.P mate, you were one of the best guys I've hunted with and showed me plenty of great hospitality, just a random bloke you got talking to at a coursing meet. ? D.3 points

Sadly, that's all very true and, part of the reason that I stopped giving a stuff about wider society a while back. Thankfully my daughter is growing up with an extended family that are enthusiastic about seeing her and like to engage with her - some of the lessons she learns out of school are priceless. ........ it's encouraging to know that a lot of kids get the same treatment. I can't change the school system, I won't even try but, I will give my own a leg up whenever I can.3 points

Little update on the pups. The chocolate one, my wife's, is mainly a yard dog but is notching up a reasonable number of rabbits and squirrels. She's been trained to retrieve to the horse so the Mrs doesn't have to keep getting off. Mine is going well. No sign of recurrence from the hip and hunts well. Shes been on a few camping and canoeing trips over the summer and is a pleasure to have around. She catches a few rabbits, the odd squirrel and very keen on the rats now. I gave her a run on a rabbit on the lamp the other night and to my surprise she caught it. I'll be trying that a b3 points

? As far as Trapping various critters goes,.. catching moles, sure ain't Rocket Science.... Some guys insist upon making the job, far harder than it is,.. I guess that is a kind of traditional mode of thinking.. I used to be the same, and refused offers from Pest Control Equipment Suppliers, to run a few courses for modern Pesters. To me, it seemed a dumb fecking thing to do,...why educate, all and sundry (often competitors) when I was still heavily engaged in the trapping job myself. The paltry fee from the large companies would never cover the potential loss of earnings by sch3 points

An IQ test is a different thing to how educated a person is or how much knowledge they can retain - it's more about cognitive ability and problem solving. ....... It's how I see our school system going wrong nowadays - kids are taught to remember answers so that they can pass an exam. I think there are very few good teachers that can actually coach a child to think in ways that will develope their IQ. It's possible to find a British professional, full to the brim with academic qualifications and a wholly average IQ and, an Amazonian tribesman with minimal knowledge of the out3 points

The man is lower than a snakes belly . This is nothing to do with the hunting community picking on him , it’s just some criminals burning a vehicle next to his gates , because it’s a remote area . The countryside alliance should force him through the legal system to retract his statements and apologise.3 points

A long time ago I was on a grouse moor and a group of guns ( I think they were Arabs but don’t quote me on that ) had booked a day but didn’t start until lunch time because they were shooting the morning in Scotland then travelling down by helicopter, when they arrived they had new Range Rovers waiting for them ( I think this was the early 90’s ) they were driven to their butts by their loaders, after they had finished their day one of the loaders told me he had been tipped 500 quid and one of them gave the head keeper one of the Range Rovers as a tip,, it’s nothing like that at my spot with3 points

I’ve got a tunnel trap by one of the feeders near a partridge pen and it’s been accounting for a fair bit of vermin, rats , a few squirrels and two stoats and this morning a Jill polecat. I think I saw this one in the headlights of the mule the other morning when I was feeding. Glad to see the back of it .3 points

My good old dog druid, dead now yrs.He cought me a lot of live rabbbits in the 90s,selling those rabbits helped me save up to buy my first 2nd hand fiesta van .He produced racey pups when bred to a greyhound bitch. He was a reverse 3/4 bedlington collie hound.3 points

This is what I call the marital life boat. When things are good it's a nice thing to hang out in, when things are stormy I can escape into it. In truly terrible storms it can be towed away but I now have it tucked up somewhere I doubt I'll ever move it from. I built it during a particularly stormy time and lived in it for 18 months til the weather cleared. I will never be without it or something similar.3 points

Still loads of insects, spiders beat wheat any day for pheasants! Had to turn a fat lamb over the other day. Fortunately I got there before the crows. Tonight I sniped at said crows and eventually ended up with Beaky! Meet Beaky, looks like we've met before, maybe!2 points

Well I didn't need telling twice, the wife was painting and wanted me out the house ? so off with the shotgun in search of vermin. Shot a right porker of a squirrel who had been eating well in readiness for winter. 5 squizzers and 4 magpies, happy with that ?2 points
