Good to hear some conversation regarding Whippets...? When I first came South from my native Wales, we settled in Portsmouth... There was a long tradition of poaching/mouching style of roustabout hunting in the area. It seemed as everywhere I wandered, I encountered lads with whippets. In my opinion,..Whippets (Ped and Non-Ped) and Rabbiting,.... go together like Apple Pie and Cream,...I loves 'em..?10 points

I haven't seen my five year old grandson in over a year, but I get daily photos and videos, and a couple of times a week he calls us on Skype. This technology is fantastic. I can remember having to book an international call home to my missus a day in advance, then have to wait in line for my name to be called out when there was a connection, two minutes on a crackly line and cost a fortune. Letters would take two weeks, if they got to me at all ! So little things that we take for granted now, make me very happy ! Cheers.8 points

I love hunting rabbits in these cold conditions. Finding them in the briers sheltering from the wind. Sneaking about avoiding the twigs. I missed plenty but got two in the end. One sat 30yds and one at 3yards! I cant get over the number of walkers about! They are everywhere and its disturbing ☹7 points

That's a hard one mate. Ive been tempted to get a non-ped, as I would have a go at the racing again, and the peds simply can't live with the non-peds at racing. If the racing didn't work out, a non-ped would do what I want in the field these days; lamping, and the odd day time hare and roe. Thats not to knock the peds, I think what they lack in blistering speed, ( I know, I know, speed isn't everything), they make up for in stamina that the non-peds may lack. By far the best ped I've seen was Mally's Vixen. I've seen her run all night in atrocious conditions and take big ba7 points

Cold, wet and windy here, has been for weeks. But spring is only weeks away now. Going to knock together a couple of nest boxes tomorrow, it’ll soon be that time again. As for all the nonsense on here, and especially the covid. I’ve been trying to avoid it, too much negativity from the usual suspects. I just reckon some are born to sit on the sidelines criticising all and sundry, and some just get on with the business in hand. The moaners have the loudest voice, cos that’s all they fcukin do, the others go quietly about making shit better. Brighter days are just around the corner, of that6 points

There's a lad on here who, along with his family, owned some of the fastest non-peds ever to grace a track. Twice within recent years he offered to gift me a pup. Not long ago I was gifted a Teckel pup by another member on here., they sell for stupid money. Another member on here offered me a pup bred from his Beddy/grey, again for free. Theres still a lot of people who would rather gift a pup to like minded people, than be in it just for the money. Cheers.5 points

Managed a little mooch on my day off last week ? Seems like the grouse are taking over the world just now with nobody to shoot the buggers, but sat on a rock in the middle of nowhere listening to so many of them do their muppet impersonations is amusing ?5 points

A non-ped whippet I had in the early 70's; Equaly at home racing or working. As can be seen by his "pedigree", he had that bit of collie a couple of generations back. Sadly shot by a 'keeper whilst coursing a hare. Cheers.5 points

When my grandson calls, he's in such a rush to tell me everything all the words come tumbling out until he settles down. The other day it was "chocolate strawberry pizza pepperoni minecraft fortnite avengers" Evidently that's his favourite meal, favourite games and favourite film ! The missus and I laugh just thinking about him, a very bright spot in an otherwise bleak time. Cheers.5 points

I've seen some beautiful Plummer style terriers..? Gorgeous, fiery Red and white marked tykes,..lovely wee things. They look ideal for getting into those tight, dense bramble patches, for the rabbits. Been offered some nice pups over the years, ( once even saw a Brindle coloured one)..but, on every occasion, I just couldn't do it....I just couldn't?4 points

It wasn't really cake ,it was banana bread that my granddaughter made ,and we were in the garden because my gang are stickers for the social distance thing ,and I only had some because my granddaughter ( aged eight )had just asked me to explain Zenos paradox to her ,so I shoved some in my mouth to gain thinking time .4 points

Best thing to do is go in and have a feel, see what feels right for yourself. Some rifles just feel right and you'll make it work! Then buy the tikka ?3 points
