I'd say that most people that own and work lurchers, can't be bothered with the hassle etc of breeding and rearing a litter6 points

I dont shoot many roe bucks on this estate now as I tend to take guests there during the summer and focus on the fallow myself. This one I shot my self as the owner had asked for some roe fillet. If I'm honest it wasn't the best shot but Willow saved the day.5 points

I'm the opposite.... Can't stand a dog cocking it's f***ing leg and pissing every 5 yards... Drives me nutts?5 points

Well, after getting back into shooting this past year, I've spent pretty much most of it trying to get some permissions again. Covid-19 put a stop to a lot of my efforts but just now I visited the farm where I used to shoot some 12 years ago. Have some very happy memories there ( I think I wrote a couple of hunting diaries here). Met the new owner today and he said "yes plse come and shoot, my wife is always complaining about the rabbits!) Fantastic news! Some pix from my shooting there all those years ago...4 points

Had a wheaten x that loved pissing in lads wellies. Lol. Any new lad came out with us he'd have to hold rusty on the lead at some point during the day and as sure as shit rusty would piss down his leg. Lol.4 points

My dog is terrible for pissing on everything, windbreaks, bikes, pushchairs, small children ? Cheers, D.4 points

Just keep what you have homes for and pts the rest, no need for a bitch to have more than 6 pups on her imo... Fair play to the lads that rear 10/12 pups a time, but it ain't for me?4 points
-
Not just the rearing that’s not the problem I think sharks on about half the dickheads in this game that are pretenders then finding out down the road people who have had pups of you are horrible little c**ts that have dealt pups a shitty deck of cards an done wrong by them it’s a hassle to have on your mind even when people have vouched for people being decent4 points

There's No rush, I personally keep them a bit heavy until around 14/16 m old... All dogs are different, some grub up well others not so easy.. Give them A good mixed diet, I feed alot of fish, sprats, mackerel, salmon heads, whole trout... My dogs do well on it... If they need more weight I feed fatty cuts and odd lump of lard,3 points

Because the base line is a bedlington like a bedlington x Lurcher that’s all I’m saying that the fell terrier is the closes relation to a bedlington to reduce size better coat definaltly not to make them work yes the black dog as the biggest gene pool for a working terrier because there crossed with 3 or more different breeds of terrier that’s why they come all diffrent shapes and sizes I think we’ve all got our views on our dogs so as long as your happy enjoy them3 points

I bred off a 1stx bitch just as the foot and mouth started and was doing her job, anyway I decided to put my mates brothers whippet over to bring the size down. The dogs made 25tts the bitches 23tts,she had 10 pups which 1 I kept 1 went to the lad next door for £10,1 went to the sires owner then 1 to his brother£30 and to another friend £30.These pups were getting fed 4times a day on fresh rabbits minced fresh mince from a butcher I know and dry meal mixed. The bitch i I put on double bait as I knew 10 pups would drain her.Any I pup the other 5 on that yellow paper £50 a pup that was out when the3 points

I was up and out stupidly early with me mate... couldn’t see the geese cos of the mist in the vale, recon we were two fields off! its hit or miss which way they’ll flight.. heard one bloke in the distance rattle off 3 in succession.. by the sounds there were a lot moving but they were the only shots I heard. saw a mint moon but the picture is crap:( Cold Yorkshire morning3 points

I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that, buying a lurcher is a minefield, people think the grass is always greener but if you have a decent bitch that you like, breeding her will almost always be better than buying a pup that’s for sale to the general public. Always starts a big argument the breeding, buying, selling topic but personally I’d never buy an advertised lurcher pup again in my life.3 points

The thing often missed with using a pump is that I and others found that the working of the action actually aided lining up on the second bird or second shot somehow. And dare I say it better than an auto! ( In my opinion, no individuals were used in that opinion and any coincidence is pure coincidence but I remain the owner of that opinion ?).3 points

Had a brief read of that link B H. Not sure if I believe it, it sounds a tad disingenuous ??2 points

Yeah similar thing I've found, plus the fact that a lot of the people that favour these types of lurcher, are now getting a bit past it lol, myself included ?2 points

Lived on and worked at a course late 90's till 2003...never had my own or anyone else's dogs hurt themselves on a fairway /green or in a bunker..... Pick up the odd scratch if something went off into the trees... I still start my pups off up there ferretting, they run the hill and forestry blocks, sheep field's try and get them on as much different terrain before they find they're legs and speed Hopefully teach them some sense??2 points

Proof is in the pudding realy if Beddys were still good digging dogs they’d be getting used , there so many black dogs about because they do a job and obviously do it well , obviously not all them will make it as that’s the nature of things but if there was still decent beddys about then surely someone would be striving to take them forward but instead you get the usual ( I don’t need to show pictures off my beddy working or I don’t need to take lads out to see my beddy working ) secret squirrel bull shit , there probably a hndful of beddys that are actually beddys that can be entered and st2 points

A mate who joined a new hunt not so long back took all the piss takin of ha ha he got a poodle etc then after extracting a hound that had pushed it self in as far as it could on a mark a russel was entered it got bullied about so a black dog was entered that couldnt stick so shouts went up to try the poodle yes it feckin stuck and the black fox was accounted for ? Believe what you like.but theres still good beddys out there and it be sad day if the go the way of the dinousaur ?2 points

It don’t hit a raw nerve with me mate I’ve heard it all before but when people go on about these black dogs like they’ve come out of planet Mars well there not there just mongrels x morgrels bred for purpose and like as bedlington bashes say we use this fell terrier blood because it’s the closest relation we have not to spruce them up or give them drive just to reduce size and better coats atb2 points

I don't think anyone is knocking the beddy it's just the beddy does not come to the minds of 99% of black dog owners why should it stand out . There not much good for digging these days. If they where alot of people would have them the black dog what ever it's make up is a digging dog now and far superior to any these days I can't see it changing in my life time. If I could get a beddy better than my black stuff well I sure would go for it but it ain't going to happen . It just hits a nerve with the beddy boys there not getting the recognition that I think they don't deserve. Each to there ow2 points

If he's the sort of role model your putting in front of your kids then your a bigger fuckwit that i ever thought you were,he got caught being a greedy fecker and just to point something out to you, every junkie in the country on the sick is on the sick due to mental health issues and not because there addicted to drugs. It's the reason for taking them in the first place according to the experts when the truth is drug takers are just folk who just like the buzz drugs give you...I lived the junkie world for 10 years max, lost everything i owned and i mean everything and iv'e been stood in just the2 points
