The dog in my video is obviously not a terrier, she's a lurcher, but she's ratting like a terrier so I thought I'd post this video on here.5 points

To he guy who started this topic, sorry for your loss. To the bloke who supposedly torched someone's car and beat them up.....LOL! Running a dog over is upsetting but an accident and is not illegal. Assault and arson are. Admitting to both on a public forum either means you are lying or soft in the head and desperately want to be arrested. Give your head a wobble mate.5 points

Me and ian drove up to keepers place yesterday just this side of borders and although a fresh cold day it was sunny so thats a bonus plenty of jackdaws around lambing pens but one shot and all gone i went for a mooch on my own and 2 squirrels in quick succession in the bag and back to motor for a cuppa ian has hid himself in hope of a feral or two and ten mins pass and he emerges with a brace of ferals .a bit crack with both keeper and landowner and they send us to another farm 5 mins away where we managed a rook and another feral.we called it a day about 4.oclock4 points

Went to a local grammar school (wastefully) red, yellow, lime green socks were the fashion at the time (early 70's) used to send us home if we turned up in them. Pair in the school bag, put em on after parents dropped us off by school and a day in the park smoking and fooking about. Thats why I'm skint now Cheers, D.4 points

I understand your point mate, but I genuinely think you would think differently if you were involved in the day to day going’s on of a school. Just listening to some parents at parents evening would almost instantly make you realise why small potatoes like this matter pal. i sort of think, you ain’t there to “express yourself”......you are there to get the f**k on with it and not be a dick.4 points

No rumour DC, the bitch in the lads hands was from a dog rescue center, without her there wouldn't be any of the others in the other pictures. If I could get another that worked like her I'd have the kennels on speed dial4 points

Trip to Dorset the weekend with Matt and my son George . It was to be George’s first experience of sika having stalked many roe at home . Saturday was a washout with extremely low cloud soaking us to the bone with very few deer seen . Just before last knockings, Matt being the gent he is text me to say he had glasses a group of sika up a hedge line where he was so George and myself made our way to him . Matt guided George into a prone shooting position . I watched on from a distance . A gateway was the position Matt chose and after them both settling in a bit the rifle spoke and a young hind3 points

Got post going in the terrier section called out ratting long story short been doing few pens and keeper said that the long tails were 100+ yard out at night in wheat, rape and ploughed in game crop fields etc. Having lamped for years in my younger lurcher day and not having seen rats that far out (few in dyke back around farm building etc) i asked if we could have a bash lamping them he said aye. So instead of taking the terriers i took my nephews 1 x Bed/Whippet and another lad who beats up their took his 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington. We got their and their was loads around the feeders that3 points

I remember my old man getting a Russell bitch of a old dear she'd been killing neighbours cats the final straw was she got in a garden and killed some chickens and his pet rabbits so he got him for my brother for rabbiting first day out of we go she took to it like a duck to water second day she fly's to ground afox bolted straight away but patch is still below so being the youngest I'm sent home with a few threats to be quick for a spade as I got back they managed to get her and a dead fox we weren't allowed to take her out after she became one of my old mans digging dogs always sat in the f3 points

If you see something you like and you can give it a fair chance to blossom then why not ? I wouldn't advocate doing it when there's other options on the table, much better to find a well bred pup and put some time and effort into it. It's a long story how I came by Jess but the short version is I gave it a chance because I was going professional and it would at least give a decent terrier a rest when she was out instead. I chucked everything and kitchen sink at the bitch, it sounds c**t' ish but she didn't mean anything to me so I just kept piling on the graft. She never missed a bea3 points

I totally agree with that mate, but what all these type of reports fail to mention is that schools do exactly as you say in that post......these reports are normally some tit with a massive chip on their shoulder and their enabler parent kicking up a fuss because they don’t want to do as they are f***ing told.3 points

If rules are set by a school pupils have to follow. Rules are all around us in adult life so i reckon its best we teach them early that sometimes you just have to get on with it regardless if you like it or not.3 points

That's all well and good but what's the need to dictate to kids the one aspect of their appearance they do have some freedom over? And if it really is necessary then what is so wrong with that style? The world is changing and short back and sides ain't the only smart look anymore. Tuck ya shirt in, tie up and long, clean appearance and well mannered but hair seriously? It's bollocks imo. Rather than forcing kids to comply, why not show them the benefits of a smart and sharp appearance and let them decide if it's worth it.3 points

Oddly enough something I have personal experience of. its nothing new, schools were doing this 30 years ago. i remember me and my pals all tramping up to the barber on the last day of the summer holidays and getting tram lines and all sorts shaved into our Barnet. Hey pesto, first day back, suspended and another 4 weeks off !! I was expelled at 14 and left school for good, so my “free as a bird” attitude didn’t exactly add to my education ! Lol Fast forward 30 years and I actually think it’s a good thing that schools make rules about dress, hair etc........ Its t3 points

Guess it depends on how big you want the pups to turn out. If you are after bigger pups for allrounders, then why not use a fast bigger racy lurcher that is doing the job. Safest bet in my eyes mate. ATB3 points

Well were back I lamped for year in my younger lurcher days, (and never seen rats out in fields few in dyke back around farm buildings etc) When we were doing these pens the keeper was saying at night the rats were 100 yard + out in the fields so i said could we have a go he said aye. Any way I was still a bit dubious so I took my nephew Bed/Whippet 1 x instead of my terriers and another lad who beats up their took a 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington. Only terrier their was Baxter half Russel half Plummer. Any way to the point we got their and the fields were alive around the feeders that still had3 points

Had the Astro then the Tek2 now gone back to the Alpha. You won't beat the Garmin without any doubt. After a period of time the Tek 2 gets issues picking up the satellites. Also on the compass setting on the Tek 2 you'll find its very inaccurate. One minute its bang on next minute its the complete opposite direction. This happened with all four handsets.2 points

Dont know anyone who would work a pure grey, suicidal tendencies, lack of brain, too much prey drive, great building block for producing a lurcher though when crossed with the right breed. Why the obsession with height most guys i know that think along those lines are posers that think a bigger dog makes them look the part i dont give a shit about the height of a dog just as long it can do the job.2 points

I had a border Russell from the dogs home many years ago when digging was still legal, sadly died of cancer aged 9 but the most sensible level headed dog I,ve ever owned, she would stay down for hours, bay but never engage and you could call her out if the dig was a no go, she was also very true and if she went in 9 out of 10 times something was home, also got the best lurcher I,ve owned from the dogs home, I think it's more to do with the time I had to put in to the dogs than the breeding of them, I was out 5/7 days a week never worked and the dogs were with me everywhere I went, they even spe2 points

On the farm we went ferreting on Sunday it has two small ponds, well the frog were spawning and the row of them croaking you could hear them from 30 meters away there were hundreds of them. So today we were back and I took the camera but there were only about a dozen and only on one pond they must have nearly finished or the strong cold wind was making them keep their head down. I'd have to see it with my own two eyes to see snares lifted over the weekend. We've often had farmers ask us to shoot badgers when out rough shooting because they'd been in them over the weekend. The worst was a snare set on a Friday and it being a bank holiday weekend the badger was still lying there on the Monday. It had dug a hole the length of the wire and was lying there waiting to be shot. I refused to shoot it and the Department man came Tuesday morning and shot it. IMO it's hard to believe that that way is legal but the way my father done it with terriers when legal is now illega2 points
