  1. I suppose it’s an old man thing to say but I genuinely think anyone born in the last 15 years will have it harder than anyone……the poor fuckers are open to so much shit information that we just didn’t have to deal with growing up. They will be out front and centre in a culture war, probably a real war, they will just be working for the state in a home they can’t afford in a 3rd world shit house area. The things they struggle to buy will be robbed, they will be sexualised and mentally brutalised. They will never know the innocent time and things we knew, it will be constant nois

  2. I enjoyed my childhood, brought up in a small Welsh town living 2 miles out of it so I had all the fields and countryside around my house but 15 mins of the pushbike I was into town with My mates enjoying myself. We were on the poor end of families around here but never really upset me . Mum and dad worked they just had shit jobs so no decent money to spend . No knife crime or any sort or serious crime around here so never felt any worry of something really dangerous happening . I can't fault it . My kids have been brought up in the town itself so they spend most of their time down the parks

  6. Born in 51 and lived on a new estate us kids all raked around together and to be honest it was great. We was all lean things nobody had much money or food. My old man drank most away in the pub and the rest in the bookies, mother did her best but was hopeless cook. Us kids would bugger off to the woods making bows and arrows spears making camps come home as the sun was going down great memories. Evenings raking around the estate playing kick the can or as it got later knock down ginger till one mother after another called to come home leaving maybe couple of us sitting on the wall chatti

  10. Great upbringing, from a household with seven kids, so two elder brothers who helped me and two elder sisters who had great vinyl 45s I’m still doing most of the things I did when young, hunting, a bit of nesting, walking in the countryside etc. Had lovely parents, a mum who gave her best all the time and a dad who played games on the fields with us even after a hard day at work and later in life enjoyed his company over a pint. Said it often, I’m glad I was young when I was

  11. Normal upbringing here, hard working parents who provided for us all really well. By eck we (me mainly) had some proper bollocking off my dad who was a moaning old fart but as I get older and find myself turning into him I realise he was right. I feel for people who had it shite growing up and always hope they turned things around and were better with their own families rather than carrying on where there parents left off.

  20. Well , mine was ok, born W-ton, in counsel estate.all of us lived there were in same boat no money,.but I will say most dads there done jobs, factory, and the mom's if not to many kids got part time jobs to help with money. Regards my upbringing, was suppose OK, but both my parents lacked patience , and mom would walk us with boiler stick, and that hurt any 8 year old kid. I never got on with my old man, I know now I should have left home much earlier than what I did as was prob getting him down with my.life style on a weekend pissed, out after the women, got beat up few times, he

  23. Just returned from Catalonia, had a wicked place in the hills hired a car for the ten days , visited the likes of sitges, garraf, Vilanova, vilafranca , castelldefells, Montserrat, igualada, caves codorniu and Barcelona. Had great weather did beaches and pool everyday, on two rainy days we hit Barcelona, had a guided tour from mushroom off here along with tapas and beers which was fun, and the following day we hit the science museum with kids . The beaches were great plenty of snorkeling and swimming. Some decent seafood restaurants. The accommodation made it and due to cancellations we pretty

But you learn from it, and my daughter's have flourished from my understanding of how not to be. As a great man once said "our revenge will be the laughter of our children"....as for pewit, greb etc, the man's a hoot! Comedy gold, stop banning him! Give him his own section... Yokel

  32. My mother had a difficult birth with me and finally produced a baby of more than ten pounds. She was so exhausted and disappointed that I wasn't her longed for girl, that she temporarily rejected me and it was up to the midwife to give me a name. She quickly got her act together though and I had a bond with her which the other boys didn't have. I don"t remember her ever hitting me or criticising me. She said I was the most easy going baby and I always had a beaming smile for her. In return I never gave her any backchat ever and would defend her against my dad. She always had my interests

  34. Just a normal upbringing tbh 2 hard working parents and in all honesty I was a bit spoilt in being allowed to get away with certain things unlike my two sisters that the old man was more strict with though they have turned out a lot better than me and have good well paid job's and have made more of their lives than I have. Growing up we never went without and had holidays every year albeit in this country. Only thing I thank them for is installing a strong work ethic in me as I have never been afraid of a bit of graft just a pity I am a thick feker and have never been academically inclined unl

  36. I grew up on an estate in East London it was what it was, my mother remarried when I was relatively young and my stepfather didn’t like me or my brother in fact he was an absolute arsehole I don’t really talk about it to be honest. But I’ve done alright for myself because seeing what an absolute waste of air he was made me more determined to do well for me and my wife & kids.

  41. Was alright, definitely much more privilege then alot of kids. Two parents, decent house both worked, ect.. dad had a few years where it was rough but after learning how grandad treated him well, let's just say we both had to do some growing in the mental health department. But we've made amends now and working on it. Anyhow still have some issues when it comes to deal with people and ther families who had like the really classic up bringing ..eating together at the table going out together all the time and all that. Wife's family is like that and I find it a bit awkward and hard to deal
