  1. Spent Christmas in Gran Canaria. Reflections. The people here enjoy the best climate in the world. Always between 18 and 26c degrees. They still have huge extended family gatherings in restaurants, babies and ga_ ga geriatrics included. The waiters here kiss children, especially the handicapped. Couple of kids, one with severe autism, and one with Downs, are treated like royalty in my hotel. It's not a show. Its part of their culture. Brilliant imo. The young teenagers gather in large groups and enjoy food and wine. At their age, my generation used to get legless, aggress

  3. Ain’t life all a bit like that now though mate ?…..my first motor at 17 was an old Ford D series tipper, I wasn’t allowed to drive it until 18 but I did, no tacho, no VOSA, just avoid the odd ministry check and off you go and earn your living. Then it was Luton vans, that went with VOSA checks etc with a team of nerds looking to rinse you for a few quid and treating you like Pablo Escobar for having 100 kg too much on your arse end…..this is after having got a 70 quid parking ticket or two that day and paying congestion charge or whatever. Then it’s IR35 and everything done on an acc

  5. Watched my ole fella bust a gut till he couldn't anymore, spent his last years with a knackered body and eventually a knackered mind, fcuk working till mid seventies. I'll graft away till my youngest is on her feet then I'm packing it in, get myself a little mongrel lurcher as a companion for mooching and fishing and I'll be as happy as a pig in shite. Don't care about money, I'll just get better at being poor.

  7. The trouble is, works no f***ing fun anymore…..as they have phased out readies and replaced it with rules, regulations, paperwork, pointy nosed nerds and smug uni grads who have a f***ing heart attack at the sight of a twenty pound note it’s just not any fun…..there’s f**k all in it to make it enjoyable. People Don’t deal with people any more, they deal with “a team” made up of utter pricks who happened to be kicking round the organisation doing f**k all and got collared for the job, nobody’s word is their f***ing bond, nobody knows how to behave like proper chaps…..it’s just all so f***i

  8. Size difference between a smaller bunker boat and your average tanker. Bunker boat/barges basically are Mobile gas/lube stations. They carry barges similar to our ,with various lube oils and fuel ab basically just pull up to the ships and give them what they need. They work directly with foreign deck crews and apparently each nationality has its own quirks so apparently With Russians you better know how to cuss someone out and be assertive and not be a baby back bitch because to will try and fight is they think your weak and try to tell them what to do The Indians, nice but language

  10. Don’t you think though that the whole country is now run around these “non job” industry’s like the HSE and all the various bodies just like it ? Im not saying people should work in squalor or risk their life but what happened to just retaining your people by treating them right ?……you don’t need a bloke on 50 large a year driving round telling people how to wash their hands and charging you 700 quid for the honour. That 700 quid is real money out of real work, it ain’t growing on trees…..and that seems to be the way now, various government agency’s just helping themselves at will.

  20. I bleed for you guys in shit jobs. And I've done everyone including a spell on the bins. I'm not being male menopausal honestly, or Victor Meldrew, but things have got really bad in the employment world and in the UK in general. It f****n enrages me to see piss in plastic bottles by the side of major roads..truckers brew. Nowhere to stop, have a shower or a decent meal, without some without some office shite hawk tracking their every fart. Thank f**k I'm out of it and retired. There needs to be a complete re _set, so people realise how dependent they are on working people.

  24. I have known too many men that approached retirement with dread. A sad state of affairs but understandable as these were men who from early adulthood had done nothing but graft. No 9 -5, 5 days a week. Working all hours to provide for others. The white working class hetrosexual so often ridiculed and even despised by the modern left wing media. I'm counting the days. One major thing to do first, buy a property in a rural location and then that's me done.

  29. I have never ever seen it as bad around here for rabbit numbers another reason i wont contemplate getting another lurcher. Like has been said disease must be the main factor though i have noticed a big rise in buzzard numbers also the technoligy used now days by shooters at night must be having an impact on numbers were rabbits that had become lamp shy now their is no need to put a lamp on them to get a shot off in darkness.

Glad you enjoyed it mate week before Christmas I spent a week in Costa Teguise in Lanzarote as you say decent climate and people just getting on with enjoying life, it was even warm enough for a swim in the sea you’ve just got to get away from this place sometimes it drags you down with the shit weather and never ending bad news in the media.

  33. I think that your depiction of me is a tad unjust. I don't like bullying, even if there's the Atlantic between you. I'm sure the guy can stand up for himself, but as a neutral observer, I am entitled to an opinion on a post. If I'm in the darkie protection brigade you are in Klu klux clan ...nazi division.

Organisations bring out the worst in people. Crawlers especially. Low life shit with zero sense of dignity or self worth.

I'm unbelievably bored with it now and i feckin hate the place , but I'm just too old and knackered to look at retraining. Financially I'm sound , I was mortgage free before I was 40 , but I always worry , just incase things go tits up. I've been poor , and I really don't like it.

Gardening, Maintenance, Machine driving and work on farms Laying hedges etc and even then customers didn't want me to give up working for them. Retired now and loving it Ferreting, Fishing, Foraging, Metal detecting, Gardening and any thing else I fancy. The only trouble is your body is a bit f****d after years of manual work. Also right now I'm sucked off to the stump with rain and bloody wind Lol. They reckon if you have no interests when you retire life expectancy is just 3 years. Cheers Arry
