Having a clear out lads. Had enough of the constant price rises and pressures strategically applied by this shit show of a government so me and the misus are working towards selling up and going off grid with a little small holding. Not guna happen over night but thats the mission now. Keep an eye out in the classifieds for bits I put on, don't be afraid to make an offer if interested. Its guna be an interesting journey but its got to start somewhere! ATB Ry22 points

I received a call last night from some people in the city who had 4 groundhogs living under a wood floor tool shed in their backyard. They wanted them gone as did the neighbors. This morning I loaded up little red and went to check it out.The entrance was tight even for a 13 lb dog. Of course he settled under the toolshed.I trenched a few feet in to him.One groundhog accounted for and 3 bolted out the back.Landowner was happy.13 points

The kids are one of the reasons we want to do it. So they realise you DONT have to get into the machine of 9-5 and a big mortgage, there is other options. I wasn't taught that, I was just brought up as you leave school and get a job, then get a trade, pay your taxes and work till you retire. Just another cog. Anyone that didn't do that was a bum or a lazy b*****d. I don't want mine thinking that. Strip it right back and we NEED water, food and shelter. If you can provide that without selling your life then that is a better option!9 points

You sound like a SNP nut now, everything is the tories fault, don't get it twisted I have no love for the tories either, it's not the parties that are wrong it's the system that is fault it's the system that allows them red or blue to screw us everytime, can't you see it sandy ? It's time to transcend this left right bollocks because believe me labour will be no better because they are all ultimately corporate slags .. a few months ago I thought that labour would walk the next GE but now I think unfortunately the "tories" will just about scrape through. The game is rigged just two wings9 points

Never experienced really sucky situations. Me and one of my class mates are the only vets in class. Me army him Coast Guard. As guys do craps starts getting talked and stories start getting told. And Honestly feel like me and him are the only ones who really lived out the whole group. He's telling stories about being in 30' seas almost falling over board , almost getting struck by lightning whiel doing rescue missions, being so sleep deprived he's hallucinating, doing drug busts on cartel boats and I'm telling similar about sand storm almost getting run over , running missions for 48hr with n8 points

Well, it just so happens one of the pieces of land I am in negotiations for has a bigger pond on it that is chocked with weed so I'm planning in getting digger in and clearing that out then moving my fish. ? I never thought I would leave this place but as much as I love it, it's only a pile of bricks. So long as my misus and kids are with me anywhere can become home.7 points

Wolfdog, for a young lad, you've seen more than most on here. I take my hat off to you. We all need to appreciate what we have, and realize things could be a hell of a lot worse.?3 points

I’m neither a Tory or a closet Tory. I despise Labour, Tory and Lib Dem equally. It just amuses me that you use copy and paste articles quoting far left lunatics to justify your rather sad hatred of the Tory’s when they are all as bad as each other ! I also find it strange that if someone doesn’t support the policies of the left, they are automatically labelled a Tory . At the upcoming council elections, I’ll be voting Reform Party, if they aren’t standing a candidate, I’ll vote for an independent who’s views most fit my views . Cheers.3 points

The whole think is set up to keep us all fueling it. I was looking at Bank of England website yesterday and here are a few quotes on there: "We set Bank Rate to influence other interest rates." "Bank Rate is the single most important interest rate in the UK." "A change in Bank Rate affects how much people spend. And how much people spend overall influences how much things cost. So if we change Bank Rate we can influence prices and inflation." Hiding in plain sight!!! Don't give a shit, actually put it out there that it is all control. I'm done with it.2 points

I don't know if we can yet, it will depend on negotiations for land and what house is valued at.....but if I don't get this land I will look somewhere else. Feel like our mind is made up now.2 points

Good luck , it’s true it’s only brick n mortar and memories that can me started again. We are getting raped her now with tax etc. I’ve come to the conclusion if you haven’t used something for a while you prob don’t need it so get rid. I’ve got fuking tons and tons of bollocks around me . Like yourself I’m looking to down scale, be hard to sell this gaff as we’ve been here 40 yrs and it’s a nice spot. Hope some one with dollar will pay good money for it. Sell early give the kids thier money now so avoid tax and enjoy life. Hope you find a nice plot mate, sounds like a good / exciting journey.2 points

One thing that strikes me is that the trap in the picture doesn't have an underfloor bait tray clipped to the base . I would think that rats would scrabble under the trap rather than enter it. Whereas with a metal tray underneath they would have to enter the trap to reach the corn through the wire floor.2 points

Very impressive looking device. They really do think outside the box in that part of the world. Helps that they have plenty of funding from their government mind.2 points

Know what Wolfie. I stopped telling stories about what happened in the Middle East because folks think you are either an out and out liar or crazy. Thing is, possibly like yourself, there are not many pics to support the tales possibly for the best. Jok.2 points

In my area once a terrier makes it around 2 sharp turns the groundhog will be waiting for him.Our ground is hard so even a groundhog can't dig fast.Usually the groundhog digs away when using too large of a terrier that takes to long to get there or the terrier gets stuck.2 points

Shit more then that lol. I'm staring at $185 a day within the next month I'll be looking at $230. I drive to work once every 7-28 days gone the entire time not paying for anything the whole time just stacking checks. Then I'm home 7-20 days straight Loving being on the water , working not the hardest thing ever . Worst that can happen is I get crushed between some barges but that would be a funny story at my funeral ?2 points

I used my old Impact .25 fac on the rats at our dairy farm perm, we used to take about 1000 rats per year, brilliant calibre and even better when it has 50 fpe up the pellets arse. Those rats didn't like it at all.? Phil2 points

Funny you mention the retrieval my pup is constantly carrying stuff and most part will bring it in. Every walk on way back to van she will drag the most awkward branch going and lug it home. But I all ready sort of know when it comes to fresh game she won't be bringing it in until maybe the novelty has worn off2 points
