  1. First rabbit me and my mate ever caught on the lamp. We were about 14 and allowed to take his old mans dog out by ourselves. We used to walk miles. I still know the exact spot we caught it. We thought we were heroes returning with that!!

  4. Sorting through my mums house we came across pictures of my first lurcher, 1979 so I gave the pup an of the era name "toyah" ?. We had terriers and ferrets but this bitch was a game changer for mooching. Lurcher to lurcher cross, she was a dream to work although in part I put that down to the time one can devote at 17 when the world is yet to discover current electronic distraction. She was insanely committed to catching game, near miss accidents were frequent and sadly a tree collision was her undoing. Despite the look of her white beard she didn't make 3 years. Ever since i am not a fan of d

  5. After a rough rain and blowing night the suns out so thought I would have a go at the little paddock again. Probably an old orchard with the apple trees long gone. Bloody cold wild mind. Well hit on an old purse find over about six square foot most of these coins from it and the little cat neckless. The old Cap gun and the older coin at the bottom from a different part of the paddock. Still I'm happy 2 three pence pieces one silver, 4 sixpences 2 silver, 7 halfpennies, 8 pennies oldest 1901, 2 two shilling pieces, 2 half crowns. Cheers Arry

  11. Always get a gallop or two on this little spot.. cracking afternoon here late on.. Had a striped visitor here too recently... I've been on this land a fair bit around the clock over the years and never had sight or signs of them before here so will be interesting to find where it's come from.. Too far away to tell.. but looked like maybe a couple of red arrows doing a few practice loops in the distance..

The big problem is no matter what I say everyone wants to prove me a liar, rather than learn the truth but I,m the most straight shooting person you will meet I am actively looking for the truth well people just sit back shouting bollox, I have been out this week end and witnessed some good footage, not mine before you all start crying but it is all going to build the bigger picture and eventually will end up on the podcast, I have never hid from anything or anyone and have offered everyone a chance to come and join me and in 5 years socks and Danial Caine is the only ones of this great hunting

  21. Popped out this afternoon for an armed ramble. Really cold in the wind but ok out of it in the winter sunshine. Shot my 1st fox of 2023 , spotted it sat out in middle of a field sunning itself. A quick 20 yard crawl and I was able to get shot off the bipod at around 120 yds..? I then continued and took my 1st squirrel of 2023 with a 70 yd shot off sticks. Continued in search of a doe and ended up taking this big girl with a perfect heart shot , the drag wasnt so nice being about a mile back to the motor...christ I was knackered. Great afternoon ?

  24. your talking about Simon Whitehead. ..yes he did get the jcb in to get a ferret out... a few years ago me vin and trigger from this site dug one out around 9 feet...under some big old rocks that took 4 of us to lift out....in the end there was a drop down in to a cavern. ..shone a torch down and 3 foot down at the bottom was the ferret unable to climb out...we lowered a a dead rabbit down in a purse net...and he jumped on it...and nd we fished him out....took several hours did that...

  27. Rabbits in Oz are from our stock so it stands to reason they will act the same as ours so they will get killed bellow ground as they do here and as for digging them out those old Abbo birds just grab a stick and dig a 3 foot hole and pull a Turnip or something and eat it . the real reason they don't dig is cuz them Ozzy blokes are Puffters and they have Puffter Ferrets?

  28. Well she got to grab a rabbit. Heard a thump and a rustle in thick old hedge. Pup started casting about and wanted to go through the fence. Unknown to me there was bloody fox next door. I could see a one holer tucked away so had a hunch. She wanted to go after the fox so tied her up then cheeky sod walked through to our side and walked across field. She was focused on him so didn’t see the rabbit balled up in the hedge but at least she got a bit of fur in her chops so it will all come together Actually got two out the one hole. Just netted the run as couldn’t get it over the hole. You ca

Guess I shouldn't complain Anybody know of her father by any chance? he was supposedly a famous coursing dog from Scotland I think 29" black dog. My dads buddy is serious breeder he went for a trial with the dog he was 11yo at the time he got some ridiculous amount like 40 odd rabbits few hares and 4 deer so he decided he wanted to cross him for his stamina and

  30. The culls f×cred the terrier game right through our country, you're right about the empty places though, back to the old days where you could drop a dog knowing the humbugs weren't home. The thermal boys have ruined a once great sport, no way you can even hope to compete. The antis have no idea what they've done banning hunting, no fox preservation at all, treated no better than a ?

  34. I find it quite funny how yous are willing to jump on the bandwagon before even reading what’s been said, and I can’t really be arsed to start going back and forward especially as foxdropper s only interest is in being right and is quite willing to bullshit to prove his point and many others lap it up, the shot deer ran into cover so was not eaten were it was photoed not that hard after all if it was just laying on the lawn you would take it with you when you shot it, me and many others put cameras on carcasses regularly and the truth is they don’t look like that in 4/5 hours and usually there

  35. This forum is playing up on my phone! I know SL uses the ultra & rates it. Although c50s, alpex & ds35 are are all the current best, SD says on tight budget, I feel you there mate! Plenty of pard008s coming up now. And the wraith HD which loads on here use (even stav!) are still good with decent ir torch.

  41. In my ferreting which is virtually all hedgerow work, digging is usually a result of work by more experienced Ferrets, most hobs I've had and more aggressive Jill's will need the odd dig to from 2nd year onwards. I do it because we can and it definitely means more rabbits in the bag. Much as I hate the actual digging because roots etc make it tough, I really like the relationship between me and ferrets that will stay when being dug to. They back off when you break through, then look up and move to where the rabbit is. If it's only one backed up then once that's out they then shin up the hole y
