My sister lives in Penrith and knows the area pretty well and also what goes on over there. She says there's a little camp site at Dufton and that the village pubs sometimes has bands on so I'm thinking about combining the two and getting plastered after the High cup Nick walk and waking up hanging in my tent that I haven't brought yet!!? She's been up Scotland this last week.. done Ben Mcdui and Cairngorm and god knows what else!

I love classic cars I used to do a lot of spanner work on a lot of classics an full restorations on vw campers an beetles the last car I built my self was the little mini below she was a bear shell nut an bolt modified rebuild she had a 1310cc engine i built it as a full blown race engine minus a straight cut gear box she produced 100hp on the rollers it doesn’t sound a lot in today standard but a 100hp in a car that’s weighs as much as a box of maches she was a proper little ripper!

Don't see many Grass snakes any more. Last one I saw was when I was mullet fishing up the river and one came swimming by. But Slow worms I have a heathy population in a old compost heap that I don't disturb any more just top it up a bit with hedge cuttings and grass and covered with bit of felt. Cheers Arry

I've had a few dogs over the years and you'd think you would get used to them passing but as I'm getting older it just gets sadder. My blue whip/stag was the worst. Shady and her two mates, also gone now.

I used them orange shearwell jackets one year when lambing outside in February. Lot of it depends on the breed (some continental breeds like charollais have very little birth coat) but more to do with clever marketing! If ewe has decent colostrum, lambs get early bellyfull then they can withstand a lot. The cold isn't usually an issue but real young uns don't appreciate persistent pissinģ down.
