  2. In my humble opinion most blokes I ever met are absolutely howling round a bird, I mean they literally fall to pieces…..and they make up for it by talking absolute shit or acting the c**t. Its basic insecurity. If you are confident in yourself then none of this crap matters, you ain’t got to act the big swinging dick all the time, you ain’t got to be “the master” of your home like we are back in the dark ages……you work through life together and whatever works at the time is how you go about things, if that ain’t working you do something else. All this “well I can’t stay home and

  6. I always try and get my first birds with a muzzleloader. Last year was with a flinter but this year I used a topsy turvy barreled caplock. Two shots for two birds. One going away at about 30yds. The second bird pushed out by my dog, a left to right 40yarder.

Second room dug out, there’s a lot of gear come out, I’ve just seen the plans for it and it’s a million quid build, a 3 phase development, phase 3 includes a pool, no idea how he’s got planning on national trust for that, I bet a few brown envelopes have changed hands, anyway should be a fair bit of work here for me, sub floors first then services and treatment plant ?

He's line of wheaten were as fine an animal that you would see, big strong dogs and bitches, that were made for the job. One was as impresive as the other. As Jigsaw said there's mot many of his kind left, he kept and bred he's wheatens for one reason only. May he rest in peace.

  18. I’ve been a busy lately, doing a fair bit of shooting a night . Now the weather has turned a bit and I don’t want to get a stuck/ filthy truck or damage the drilling too much . I really needed to sort out something like a tripod or decent sticks . I was in the local gun shop on Friday and spotted some Blaser quad sticks. They have a sort of pistol grip front that allows you to track . I got a rifle down off the rack and took it out the back of the shop . It was rock steady , light being made of carbon fibre , just over 2lb in weight, and the pistol grip allows you to move the

  21. I wonder how all this late putting birds to wood is going to affect their development? As a rule of thumb the earliest you shoot pheasants is about 19-20 weeks old . But this I would apply to birds released early and have a long warm summer to develop. A bit like growing tomatoes in a greenhouse , things grow better in the warm . Young birds spending energy keeping warm at night ? It’s why animals breed in the spring . But we can only play the hand that we are dealt , and guns must be grateful for any shooting they get , I know I will . But it will be interesting to see how th

  23. Good to see things are going along nicely for you, keep your posts coming ? I like to see how other syndicates are getting on, like you, if you had said to me did I want to keeper a shoot a few years ago I would of laughed, I only joined the syndicate all them years ago to get all the rifle shooting but since I took over this one it has taken over my life, the missus is starting to moan a little as I’m never at home, I have put a cracking dent in the foxes and squirrels mind ? today I had a little help in the shape of little Hugo’s dad, now the weather has changed the birds behaviour has

I remember many years ago , a documentary aired , I believe bbc , with the poor lads mam on and the tapes were snippet played …… today as I was coming Home on the train , the news article popped up on the mail website . I Read it and to be honest I struggled with my emotions a bit thinking about it . We all like to think that there is a hell or a heaven . That In the afterlife you receive the feted arrival or anticipated purgatory in equal measures . Sadly I believe we have a passing measure on this planet. Time erodes memories and allows the world to forget , to allow names to

But, this brief chat ~ a bit one sided, because he only really likes to talk about His side of shit ~ has stayed with me. Him: " These power prices! Do ye think like, dojo's and such ~ because they often rent school halls and such. And They'll have to pay much higher bills! ~ do ye think they'll be shutting down? Unable to afford the places? " Me: Well, the dojo will pass on those prices to your sub's. Simple enough. Him: " But, it's all because of The Ukraine, isn't it?! " Me: Well ..... if that'

  33. It’s as complicated as this, we hitched our wagon to hostile foreign powers and then picked a fight with them……two acts so ridiculously stupid that what did we think would happen ? I have come to the conclusion that western governments have got themselves into a mindset that the pretend money lent to them by their investment bank masters solves every problem……people won’t care about nation states or national identity or Asians raping kids or sovereign territory as long as we throw enough pretend money at them (which they then have to pay back in real money) I think the market r

  37. Yep angle grinder with a flap disk is far superior imo. Keep all my work out flap disks just for putting edges on axes hatchets ect. Absolutely perfect for doing shaping work like this. I do have a double wheels bench grinder and I have under it in probably five years. Just plain no use. No a bench mounted belt sander is an great too too. Especially if you keep plenty of different belts
