  6. mid management is the perfect roll for back stabbers.. this has never really affected me as ive been self employed since I hit my 20's and pick and chose my jobs. but from a bloke stood looking in on work places from the outside ive never met such a shower of backstabbing incompetent shit, from personal observations id say 90% of them are or were shit at there jobs and want a title and will throw anyone below them under the bus.. they dont generally have enough balls to challenge colleagues above but will take credit for anything regardless of who actually did it. 7. I think what wilf is saying and what your failing to grasp is that though benifit scroungers are an 'enemy' they are so totally inconsequential, like the railworkers.....yet we are conditioned to hate these people more than the man who agreed to pay 30 billion for a failed track and trace. Even if Adolf foxhunter managed to gas every single person on benifits the total amount saved wouldn't even cover the bill for missiles to Ukraine, never mind the aid to India alone (India that is releasing more green house gases than we ever will). It's all smoke and mirrors and the white working British ma

Ive learnt over the yrs not to get to friendly with folks I work with...I tell everyone the same thing..."I'm here to earn money ,not make friends" I'm lucky now,I work for 2 lads who look after me, supply a vehicle and fuel, pay my tax and stamp,90% of the time,I work on my own, just the way I like it...I worked for this same groundworks/construction firm for 12yrs...used to see so many lads coming and going...lots would be found out and gone by first break?stopped asking them their names, there's plenty out there who are willing to muff some arse, drop other lads in it, because they think it ke

  9. Guess the whole bit about back-stabbing is that it’s done behind your back so you don’t know. Had a few instances where I suspect I’ve been removed from a situation because of my mouth, but never able to prove anything. Things have changed a lot in the 30 odd years I’ve been working. I remember guys rolling about on the floor settling ‘disagreements’…., nowadays it’d be instant dismissal if you even threatened to give someone a slap unless they wound their neck in. Seen or heard of a few lads losing long service jobs with pensions etc. because some (usually young) cnut made a complaint th

  12. I think this thread has ran it’s course now and gone off track a fair bit, I’ve been more than guilty of that myself, I start back up at the shoot next week proper ( ? the birds turn up) so I think I’ll start a new thread for the upcoming season and keep it all things “ keepering” and try and keep you all convinced that I know what I’m doing ?

  13. Unbelievable the place i now work mate one of the reasons i can't wait to retire. An incident a few year's back when i commented on a lads social media after they had sacked him over a silly comment on Lads Bible i was asked into the office by HR as some brown nose had reported it i went ballistic and told them to suspend me they couldn't get me out of the office quik enough when i fired into them about free speech and other rights because i have had life experience and don't just accept i am like some of the nodding dogs that work there they leave me alone.

  14. Question, how does a railwayman, a working bloke like you, getting an extra few quid effect you exactly ? And if it makes you half an hour or and hour late helping him get an extra few quid, wasn’t that worth it to be able to help a bloke just like you win against the people who are destroying the country ?

Even though it was raining yesterday evening me and longshanx had a trip up to my mates farm, because we are hardcore ? firstly on the lookout for a buck and secondly to get a few things for the longone’s mate to feed to his dogs as they are on a full raw diet ( not even undressed) anyway after a wander about we never seen a buck so concentrated on the dog food, walking past the game cover that my mate has put in ( they don’t put anything down on the farm ) there was loads of wildie partridges so fingers crossed I’ll get my invite to the family day ? we managed to dodge the rain for a bit longe

  17. They issued the fans with fury tinted spectacles, I don’t think I’ve ever heard such delusion in all my life, fury just warming up after twelve capable of 15 ffs he’s a big fat spoiler, with about 4 rounds of boxing and 8 of smothering and ruining, he’s made it to the top and fairplay to him but all time great would only be accurate if all time began in the year 2000, you can’t even compare these twice a year 12 round boxers with the once a month 15 round fighters of yesteryear, as I’ve said before fury would have barely been a journeyman in the 70s ???

  18. My mate works doing pest control at a massive hospital. The statistics for the hospital are frightening with regards beds and waiting times. The hospital pays 70 grand a year for pest control. It uses a facilities management company to supply pest control, they employ one of the big pest companies, they then sub to my mates company. Now no matter how much people like sandymere and his boyfriend Corbyn or any other red rosette wearing politician would promise to pour masses of money into the health service they would never ever ever fix what is fundamentally wrong. To many new comers maki

I hope that the pyjama wearing sniper is still bursting with health and exuberance? Here are some memories of my last shoot day and then a picture of the team on beaters day .

  20. At what point did the British bloke get so down on himself ? When did we start blaming each other for things none of us asked for ? Railwaymen didn’t ask for massive price hikes in goods and mortgages just like none of us did, but they have a right to ask for a few quid to help cope with a situation they didn’t create. See, the fact is, we never needed anybody to come here and say “Move over son, we can do this better”…… We didn’t need the doctors, we could have trained our own We didn’t need extra blokes to drive trains or build roads or lay bricks or man the petrol

  21. The taxpayer subsidises the House of Commons bar to the tune of £6 MILLION pounds every year…….but no, let’s call rail workers all the c**ts under the sun for asking for a Tiny chunk of the billions the government is pissing away without remorse every year ! No wonder they are able to keep kicking the population in the teeth, it’s just small minded nonsense and it plays right into their hands.

  22. I've said it before on here - people on the railway aren't paid for what happens when things all run smoothly - they're paid for keeping it running smoothly and for being able to react when it goes tits up. ......... it can be a really dangerous job and, if its not done right and you cause an accident, you can be spending time in prison - it's not just a bollocking from HR. One example - there used to be a third rail next to some points in Wembly that had to be clipped. (For those that may not know) A points clip is like a big metal clamp that had to go under and back up onto

  23. The trouble with the public and a few of the lads on here is they don’t realise how fragmented the railway is the freight operating companies FOCs the TOCs train operating companies network rail maintenance and operations the cleaners the contractors I could go on, but they see a few blokes changing a bulb and that’s it we’re all the same I could quite easily explain why it takes 3 people on a platform up a ladder probably near 25000 AC OHL but I will save it, and I will sit back and watch the ignorant comments. And saying you’d live like a king on £40,000 why not live like an emperor on

I’ve had a lot going on , last shooting season I retired from Gamekeeping, I’d been doing the same shoot for 15 years and my wife wanted her husband back , instead of just this guy who turned up to be fed , have his washing done and then out all day and night . Also we planned to move to Cornwall, we had buyers for our house and an offer accepted on a nice little cottage near St Columb . Then my wife had a bombshell , her

As kids the ol man pretty much forced me and my brother to get trades mine was joinery but i had absolutely no interest in it and quickly realised that working on sites with blokes i didnt like or trust just wasnt for me and so started looking to things i could do alone simply because when i was alone i knew i was with someone i could trust.....fortunately i made lifelong friends who had the same mindset and we went from strength to strength doing our own things but i dont think i had the traits to work hard at something i wasnt interested in so wouldnt of lasted 5 minutes in a 9 to 5.....but

  29. No wonder we're f****d reading some of the posts on here. It's not all about the money, conditions, working rotas and many other things are included. This divide and conquer shit has been going on forever, turn the public against a sector of society trying to build a better life for them and their families and the powers that be basically have you doing their dirty work for them. When I started serving my time in 1980 I can remember an old guy saying to me, instead of trying to hold the strikers back, support them, if their life gets better yours will to, if they get what their due, you

  30. I was fully intending on ignoring you from here on, but I'm intrigued to know why you are so obsessed with how much shooting someone gets, and how if they shoot less than you it makes them this "pretender" (something you've clearly got a bee in your bonnet about). Do you equate the amount of animals killed by a person to how much you respect a person? Is that why you feel the need to question how much someone gets out hunting? Can somebody only really be out & about if they've a gun in hand? I'm very lucky, I spend a hell of a lot of time outside, properly back end of nowhere,

  34. An absolutely spot in post…..however, that extremely logical post only makes sense if they were in the least bit interested in balancing the books. As we have clearly seen for, let just take the last 25 years, nobody is interested in balancing the books. Theres plenty of money (that don’t exist) for everyone except us poor c**ts…..if every politician, their big business employers and most of the 3rd world are gorging themselves at the trough while we take a kicking, why shouldn’t ordinary blokes get some of that too mate.

  36. Now days I think anyone would be hard pushed to work more than 2 dogs properly effectively and efficiently at one time the amount of hours put in finding gear to run be it day or night would be at the sacrifice of family an loved one’s ,relationships and a day job. The most working dogs I’ve had on the go at one time was 3 I’m not going to lie it was hard work my ol world revolved around dogs an working dogs was my priority over any thing else in life sadly I put ferreting lamping an mooching as a life’s priority. A lot of people have loads of different Lurchers, terriers on the go at one time

  39. I wasn't going to contribute to this thread, as I don't have a dog in this particular fight. But I've literally just listened to the Labour Mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham, being interviewed. He blames the government 100%, as you would expect, and he said the strikers should get everything they demand.......he then said the outrageously high fares should be dramatically reduced ! Now, it doesn't take a degree in economics to see the complete folly in raising overheads while reducing income, but that's Labours position ! Im in complete support of the right to withhold your
