  1. Finished off the kids playground today, well sort of, he never got the hooks for the swings and the swing walkway so he can put them up, I’m not going back, got the swing frame up, climbing wall on, some monkey bars and the seesaw put together and fitted,a few other bits and bobs, he seems happy enough and the kids are over the moon ?

  2. What if it doesn't need improving? What if you have everything you want and need in your animals. I heard a well respected terrierman say if you take a pint of milk and add a spoonful of shite what are you left with.

  3. Can’t start a line without a bit of line breeding/ inbreeding , brother sister , son daughter mother son , uncle aunt etc etc if your serious about starting a line you line breed but with line breeding you bring out the best and the worst so have to cull hard

  4. What's all this nonsense about not being able to squeak an adult fox in ? The only time they won't come in is when kids have been lamping them with curs that couldnt catch a cold has made them lamp shy ! I went out with a lad who had them running in like smack heads offered a free KFC, by rubbing a bit of polystyrene on the lamp glass ! Im no fox man, and my dogs could take a fox but couldn't be classed as fox dogs, but I've squeaked plenty in and the dogs have killed them. It ain't rocket science ? Cheers.

  5. May I respectfully disagree ..... As I've said before, ( and I'm a running dog man, not a Terrier man), a good working Terrier is not just an athlete, it's the canine equivalent of a Spartan, a Gladiator, it puts its life on the line every time it goes to ground, it goes into its enemies domain, down a tight tube, in the pitch dark to face a quarry that's fighting for its life. I know Terrier lads who have their dogs so fit they put most lurchers to shame. Be proud of the type of dogs you run........but don't under estimate others ? Cheers.

  6. mC you are totally wrong about a terrier not being a performance athlete, a terrier gone to ground working Fox and Badger (historically) pushes its body through the pain barrier more than any other canine athlete could withstand, squeezing through tight, twisting tube below the sod to reach its adversary makes its muscles cramp up, its nose is without equal, its eyesight is greatly diminished below the sod but still it finds it’s quarry, it possesses the courage to face an opponent that many a bullx’s jib at and it possesses the stamina to put a Saluki to shame, it is the ultimate canine athle

  7. Back to the farmer who breeds our ducks on Thursday night. I knew there was one about because I had been on Monday night and my mate shot a vixen. He had seen another but didn’t manage to get a shot at it. I thought I would leave it for a couple of nights then have another look. I set up on a track 200yds from the gate into the next field where I thought it would come from. I was set up for 10.15pm with the caller 50yds off to my right. I saw it in the next field about 10.50pm and switched the caller on. I had already preselected “rat distress “ and it was only a matter of seconds before it sl

  11. You behave yourself too ffs, lol not performance animals. You coursing lads would need to pull your heads out of your arses and smell the roses now and again. Lol.

  12. Nobody continually inbreds, it's something that's done to tighten up the line then back to close line breeding. Its worked for terriers so why not runners.

  19. You can choose to believe me or not I really don’t mind but hand on heart a red stag is the only one I’d double on pre ban. The rest were single or not at all, if the dog can’t do it single they deserve to get away in my book.

  20. I’m a lurcher man myself but I’d put working terriers, foxing lurchers & big deer dogs over coursing dogs in terms of putting themselves under strain physically & mentally. A terrier goes face first in to the pitch black and confronts a fox in its own arena, puts itself at risk of serious injury or death every time it goes to ground, to compare a dog that chases a big rabbit round a field to a working terrier is ridiculous. Same with fox & big deer dogs, they’re giving their all to catch something they know is going to hurt them when they get hold of it, when a coursing d

  25. Well there you go then. What a legend. Peter Hickman will go down in the record books as one of best, and bravest, riders in history. I love this guy who has been a family friend for many a year. His dad, David, deserves a mention as being a hell of a rider as well. Fantastic. Jok.

  30. Don’t get me wrong mate I’ve had my fair share of failures, I’ve found the real good uns only come along every now and again. But the best I’ve had was out of a saluki x grey to a rough lurcher with a few breeds in there, greyhound, saluki, wheaten etc. I’ve seen good uns of different types but most important thing to me was both parents being well versed on deer & having a good technique, those ones that grab the back end and hang on for dear life never make it in my book

  36. Not really mate I drive a company vehicle and have a company fuel card so it bothers me not a jot but I can still see we’re it is all going without someone giving me an a4 piece of paper covered in charts and graphs leading me to have sympathy for the very people that are a part of the problem and drew the graphs these big company’s are all just part of the same machine that drive and control us, but hey you gotta believe what you believe and even though they differ it’s good to have views and opinions or we would all just get swept along blindly, now you have a god day while I go and fire up

  39. My point exactly, hence the false price increases coming in on a weekly basis while those in charge make all the right noises they are trying to help the man in the street but doing zero, we are like a flock of sheep and they just push us in whatever direction benefits them the most, it’s very easy to see if you just stop watching the bbc and use your own eyes and mind, fuel will not be going down by any significant amounts in the foreseeable future is my guess ??
