  1. Red hot today,so I went to a close lake to look for snapper turtles, on the way there I saw a sheet of ply, my first thought was "Snakes" so I lifted it gently (I also replaced it extra gently), I had flip-flops on, the mother at one point ran over my toes.

  3. A JR I had as a young fella. His qualities were endless Would track a rabbit like a hound and he would spend as long as it took working the scent out and would not quit. Once he hit a line it pretty much game over if I did my bit once it went to ground. If a rabbit bolted and slipped the nets he would follow it to ground then turn round and come back and help out until it was clear then take me where he had marked. If a rabbit bolted through sheep he would run wide so as to go around the sheep rather the storm through them if he could. 110% with sheep I could literally bet an arm on

  6. Sharon and I went out again tonight after spotting a big pig on the hill. We are starting to think that this hill has cursed up. Third time that we have gone up there chasing a pig the wind has turned just as we get to the top ridge, pig gets wind of us, and its gone. Sharon had some choice words to say that I can't post here. Ahh well, fall back to Plan B. Down the hill, skirt around the base and go to our hide looking down the valley on the other side. Same as happened the last couple of times, we just settle in and my Chief Scout - Sharon - spots three pigs in a scrubby wind break, 350 m

  7. The way I look at things,...the game has changed dramatically, these last few years, and will obviously change, even more so.. bearing in mind that I am an antique, and ancient in the extreme,...I can still foresee a massive change in the style/type of hunting canines, that will be required...Some lads will still walk the fields after the hares, and plenty will be, out and about, with the dazzler,.. but, the Law is now our big enemy, and legislation has insured that the Lurcherman is going to be heavily penalised, for even the most trivial of wildlife offences. Part of me yearns for the old da

The wife's sisters are coming over for the first time in three years so everything has to be just right so that I can bugger off for a few days on my own fishing Just got to pick them up from the airport, feed them and then I'm a free man for four days.

  17. My mate lifted a roof tile that was part of a pile of them in his garden and got chased across the garden by a viper ? The same bloke was up a ladder repairing roof beams when a rat ran across the beam, along his arm, round the back of his neck and out along the other arm. While up the same ladder a few days later he felt something on his neck. The next day he was admitted to hospital suffering from a spider bite. Three days on a drip. Lucky Terry we call him.

  22. The UK isn't a dive man, C'mon, don't keep putting it down, I have lived in a number of countries, some of them really were dives, UK still has a lot going for it ??? I did a flying course about five years back in Limoges, brit guy and his wife ran the business, really nice couple, beautiful farmhouse, and he had a landing strip in his back garden which was handy, health reasons meant they had to move back to UK, happy as Larry nowadays, doesn't have the runway in his garden nowadays, but they are both happy with how life has gone.

White enamel Billy can Stock Photo - Alamy WWW.ALAMY.COM Download this stock image: White enamel Billy can - CPFG4F from Alamy's library of millions of high resolution stock photos, illustrations and vectors. Any of you old fellas remember these? They were for brewing tea in. They were part of a working man's 'uniform' in the olden days. I remember my dad going off to work with a billy can swinging from the handlebars of his bike. When he was on nightshift I "borrowed" his billy can to collect frogs and taddies in. I had a great day and had filled the can w

  32. I’d genuinely advise anyone to go back and live amongst it for a while and then make decisions. Like this last few days, weather has been nice, seen a few old pals, quiet enough….it can catch you out…..until you go in the Co-Op and see the shop assistant wearing a body cam !! …….she ain’t wearing that for no reason. As I say, each to their own but not for me…..life has to be better than body cams in super markets surely, that ain’t no way to live.

  35. yeh neal ,but that dog, was just badly trained, that could aply to any breed of dog. Dont get wrong a border collie one of easiest breeds of dog to train for general obedience , prob easier than a kelpie. as you know i had kelpiex collie x grey bitch few years back, now she was dead easy to train, do anything for me, but only me nobody else. her temp was evil though. she rip up any dog she met, i dont mean growl scuffle , she try to kill the other dog, she was 23 in fawn , very strong animal, she was nightmare to take out, she have dogs, and any person who got to close to me, she went for m
