All of what's been mentioned has been going on long, long before the ban. I am a life long fieldsports person who has rum more rabbits hares etc than most of you will ever see! You are deluding yourself and trying to con everyone else. So after the 3am stalk last week and seen nowt , this week I changed farms I arrived at 4.30 and had a good look around as these fields are very large and open with 3 major routes back to the wood , where all the deer come from any way a herd of 34 fallow were seen with the xq38 and by there selfs 6 roe and one buck in toe , so I set up 100 yards from the route back to the wood and just sat in the truck drinking tea and waited till they made a move slowly they were making there way back to the wood , I could have easy took fallow , but thought better of it being the size of the so

After getting my buck I had a wander around the lambing fields to check if Charlie was about. Nothing seen so put out the caller and after 16 mins with hare distress calling this last years vixen appeared ?

I had an evening wander around a sheep farm as a few lambs out now. I eventually ended up heading for a small copse and decided to lay and watch until dark. There is an old buck who resides here , I saw him 3 times last year but could never get a shot.Tonight he basically gave himself up , I had literally just settled into my position and 2 minutes later he appeared 150 yds away broadside. He was going back and better off the ground to let a younger buck move in ?

There was videos of coursing going 30, 40 years, never did I see 1 of lads driving across land to a farmer in his tractor to give him shit, never did you see vids of lads dumping dogs and laughing about it, vids of idiots giving grief to the public, high speed chases, through villages, chavs off there heads on coke, they have forced the hand of the law to get to the point where we are now. ??

It's not rocket science, if your doing something the law deems illegal, but it's in your DNA and you actually enjoy it keep on keeping on, minimise your chances of capture, and if or when it comes on top then take it on the chin, you have a lot of time to think lying in a cell. Recriminations are a bit late at this stage to dish out,the game has altered unequivocally in the past few decades, there's no turning the clock back, accept that and keep playing your own personal version.

I dont understand why some people hero worship these idiots. The idea that anything is acceptable if you are "testing a dog" is bullshit in my eyes. A late afternoon walk around the shoot, mainly to shoot a few rabbits around the farm, I had a walk around the piggeries first where I shot a rabbit and as I did 11 fallow doe’s came out and ran down the field and back into the wood, I swear they know that they are out of season Heading back to the large field at the back of the farm I shot another 4 rabbits along the oak wood before going to the small grazing field next to the house where I shot an adult before getting 2 for 1 with a 100 yard double head shot on 2 new ones, they must have just come above ground because they were very small

I know I was more than once and I'd say there's not many from my generation that didn't get nipped by a dog either in the home or outside playing, how many of them dogs got put down? Picked up another 23 today on same ground, thats 107 in last 3 days. I ran out of traps today, just borrowed another 100 off a mate. Thats just three fields. The numbers will go down a good bit but more farms that haven't been trapped for 20 plus years will come along!

Not really looking to get into an argument with you, partly because I agree with some of the things you say and partly because it’s too nice a day! There are two things which you say which are correct about driving the land - firstly if done well, and in lots of areas, it puts more game on front of the dog / dogs than walking will. This isn’t always true of all areas, some are more practical to walk and some you just don’t need to drive as there’s enough game. Secondly - the ban deffo had an effect, as you say, when you’re going to lose your dogs, your liberty, get a batter

The deer/grey was the go to cross for hare and roe up here before the saluki hybrids took over. I remember some of the old Ashington and area dogs like Thor and "The Widdrinton Train", great hare dogs.
