first cross is ideal for bushing, make about 18tts.i use them for mooching, marking for ferreting, squirrels, odd pheasant etc. I know a terrier would do the same job but mine will catch a rabbits on short runs and in cover.8 points

I would like to tell the story of the two young brothers I posted earlier in the season. About 3 or 4 years ago I realized I was breeding myself in a corner.I called up a man I had dug with 10 years earlier.I knew he had terriers similar bred to mine.I asked him to keep me in mind if he had something available. A couple months later he called me and asked if I wanted a niece to my old stud dog. This was an older tested bitch.I was thrilled. It was a 2000 mile round-trip journey to get her.No money was discussed. All the man asked me was to work the pups.I bred this bitch to produce these tw6 points

It's sad to say that the bedy whippet is getting ruined for ££££ notes by most that breed the type today as most litters are up at over a grand a pup and these people have no interest in working a juckel as its all about coin . If I was you I'd get a bedy lurcher from workers and I dont think you go wrong . I'm sure If you got the coin you could have a pup by end of the week on fb but would it be the genuine article "first x and working parents " I dout it but you may get lucky " Saying that sometimes you come across a well bred litter from honest folk ,you just have to sieve t5 points

Patients!! I find most pups will come along with recall etc then at certain age think stuff you I'm to busy having fun but this is the time you got to keep at it and make comin back to you more enjoyable than what she's doing ,I always find kneeling down brings a pup in quicker than when I'm standing or if I run backwards calling pup normally works and I pocket full of favourite treats helps ? My bedy grey bitch didn't need no recall training she just did it naturally and only time she's stubborn is when she no something about or she's behind it . Put a few pics of pup up ,3 points

No different to nets. But the point is they're something a bit different. A pure bred rabbit hunter on some pretty tricky ground where nets might be impractical doing their stuff. I find it interesting to see how others have dealt with problems similar to our own.2 points

Happy memories spent at his place in Lewdown… was funny on and off the stage and came over as a decent bloke, those that knew him all said the same.. rip Jethro2 points

well, 1st i get in good recall, before all this of the lead stuff, meaning any pup will get its head down with all new scents thay are about. forget about it for a while keep the dog on its lead, just keep doing recall, say 4 times, then have nice lead walk rest of the time out with the pup. what people do and me in the past, is put the young dog in to situations that you know the dog will fail , theres plenty of time to get it hunting , the next thing people say the young dog fecks off when its caught a rabbit, well it will do unless the recall 100% , so get this right 1st , like above then2 points

You our right bedy greyhound is the way to go for a first cross I can't see any benefit in a whippet first cross in my opinion it only slows the cross down But each to there own2 points

It's a sad state of affairs these days mate. It seems news these days is all about some dicks feeling being hurt for using the word black, or somebody being gender racist. Oh and covid. Serious stuff like murder and child abuse seems to have to take a back seat. The snowflakes must assume if its not mentioned then it never happened. World needs to change.2 points

When it don't listen just walk the other way away from the dog, I've never used treatsjust make a bit of a fuss when they do what is asked of them. If walking away doesn't do it then hide from the f****r they soon get scared then don't want to be left again so listen well after that2 points

I remember it well. Peter Easterby and another man were charged with allowing their land to be used for illegal hare coursing. They pleaded not guilty but the judge found them guilty, but gave them absolute discharges, stating that the Hunting Act was confusingly worded. Prescott and Clarissa pleaded guilty to illegal coursing, and again the judge gave absolute discharges. No costs were levied against any of the defendants. I still see and chat with one of the other lady defendants, she usually has one of her old coursing whippets with her at the Whippet racing. Grand old lady to chat to2 points

We have a choice. Turn the valves and we can have well water in the house system. I usually only have it to the outside taps though. I've washed the car and motorhome with well water today. In the old cottage we used to rent, the water came from a large tank fed by spring water. After heavy rain the tap water ran brown and we got shrimps in the bath. The kitchen tap had a filter fitted.2 points
