  1. Unfortunately true...? Facts are,.. whether a man and his running dawg are ultra polite and show the utmost respect,.. the Farming community (and the UK Law itself),.. will not allow the pursuit of Hares with gazehounds, to flourish... So, as a one time rural rebel myself, I can understand hunting men who say, 'feck you' and continue to indulge in their passion. Such characters feel as though they have nothing to lose,.so they behave in the manner that they suppose they are expected to behave in.. In truth, they work darn hard at playing the part...? Personally, I will alw

  2. Decided to do something a bit different for remembrance parade today. Normally go to the local service but decided to tie it in with a walk up on Dartmoor. Decent weather and a couple of decent runs. I stumbled across a plaque when I was up there over the summer so we decided to do our 2 minutes silence there.

  8. The problem is, people associate decent lurcher lads with these gypo scum…. It’s like associating the shooting fraternity with armed robbers, because they both use shotguns…. That’s about how similar we both are, but unfortunately people think the divide is much closer…

  10. Had a quick camp out in the new Hilleberg tent last night, nice chilled camp. Enjoyed the tent, struggled to find a decent flat pitch. A bottle of red and a meatballs meal and dry roasted peanuts, read my book and listened to a podcast. Nice little overnighter to reset the batteries, love it. Looking forward to some more challenging winter weather to test tent ect.

  18. I've shot about 100 plus crows, 10 pigeons and a squirrel since Saturday morning, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. 50 crows approx and 2 pigeons were shot by with my Pedersoli 10g. It has shot over 70 shots this weekend without a misfire and was when I cleaned it, as black as a crows arse! The icing on the cake would of been if I had used it on that scabby fox that windy Friday night! I'm yet to lamp a fox with a muzzloader!

  21. Just a brief addition, but an important one.... The other alternative of course is to get together with a few friends and form a club of your own. It may seem a thankless task at times and as anyone who has ever been involved with any sort of Club or organisation will testify "willing workhorses are few and far between". But nevertheless some things are worth fighting for and the alternatives are far worse. Right now terrierwork is one of the few remaining legal forms of "hunting with dogs" and the NWTF motto of "United We Stand" has stood us in pretty good stead so far. But it

  22. I wouldn’t say they are a lot better there is just a higher percentage of very good dogs around because all the champions have been bred from and the lines kept tight so it is easier to get a very well bred dog now than it would of been 30 or 40 years ago

  30. My uncle (dad's uncle really but we were close to them as a family so all called him uncle Dick) fought at Alamain with the long-range desert group. His son later served with the sas and was allowed to take his Dad to sterling lines to meet the current regiment where they treated him like a vip for the day.

  39. A movie I've put off watching for a while, I thought it was an older film I'd seen before , but the facts around the chemicals used were completely shocking. All our kids will be consuming them for the next 500 years , found higher levels of these chemicals in apex predators from polar bears to bald eagles, and theres hundreds more chems still being used and unregulated....

  41. Out this morning with Bert in search of the wily old pheasant, a truly wild bird unlike its dopey released cousins. These birds are unreal spotting you from hundreds of yards away and off in a crack. Not much about this morning but managed my first woodcock of the season which Bert flushed from a hedgerow ? Then he stopped by a bramble patch , stood on his back legs and scented the air , I knew this meant a pheasant so urged him on and in he went and flushed a cracking cock bird ?
