Felt like autumn this morning. Having already fed and had breakfast, I went to do a bit of dogging-in . I’ve just got this one area that seems to draw the birds first thing . There is a national trust car park there and plenty of dog walkers . So I just get there , and if I see any out of control dogs , I can remind the owner of their responsibility’s as a dog owner. Nice and quiet today and me and Tilly, my 11 year old Border terrier had a moment to appreciate how nice my office is . It really does feel like the “season of mists and mellow fruitfulness “.5 points

It’s that time of year now the geese have just started flying over the house, the temp has dropped at night, the smell of the air is changing ? I love this time of year as it means it’s getting close to starting the season, not far off now ? maybe I am an odd one out but it’s a feeling that will hopefully never get boring and it feels like the build up to Christmas as a kid ??4 points

Get the other Ken to make one for you and we could get a proper thread going about a bloke with 2 fingers left and some decrepit old cnut thats collapsed in a heap after 2 swipes of a bluntened blood splattered scythe4 points

Being an Australian I think it is in bred in us to as wary of a cattle dogs as they are of strangers. Haha My best mate that bred them most his life had a dog when we were young that would guard his land rover at the beach while he surfed we all knew never go anywhere near his truck when he wasn't there. His later dogs were much more bidabel and great hunters4 points

Feeding again today and they really are starting to look like proper pheasants now, they are throughout the shoot but the majority are still coming back to the pens to roost, it’s the water that’s bringing them back as the whole place is bone dry, I’ve got a good number of birds that have set up home over in the piggeries drives, some ours, some next doors so I’ve got a couple of water troughs in the middle along with some wheat to hopefully hold the birds, again the only water over there is what I’ve put out, usually by this time of year it’s soaking up there, but this good weather looks like4 points

At the end of that I thought you were going to say 'wrap them in clay and cook them in the embers of a fire'3 points

Hard going trying to get a pup from proper breeding now, most of what you see being advertised is scatter bred shite that’s never seen a decent shift in there life’s3 points

Next time youre in his company can you tell him to be objective and balanced and not talk utter rubbish at a public workout Im sure he is a an alright bloke, not judging the mans all round character, and how pleasant he would be in your company, just from a boxing point of view, personally,in my opinion i dont think he should be anywhere near a camera3 points

Just been listening to Bellew. He thinks Joshua will come in at 17 stone or thereabouts. He expects Usyk to bulk up to 16 and a half stone. Not sure trying to match Usyks speed and manoeuvrability is a good tactic. Fury overwhelmed Wilder when he added extra weight. Joshua is in for a hard night. It's a genuine contest...very difficult to call this one.3 points

I collect small pocket knives. This is what I carry daily.Non locking 3 inch hawkbill.Good for tightening screws, sawing roots on a dig and can still whittle a man down to size. I collect Solingen Germany made pocket knives.Kissing cranes, hen and rooster, fighting roosters are all good top shelf brands to collect that increase in value. A few from my collection Solingen made switch blade3 points

In my happy state, I've decided I'm going to cook steak.... I have these dried chillies that were given to me buy a chinese mate (you should have a clue at this point ?) yep, I seasoned the the steak, with said chillies aswell and now I've tear gasse the entire building ???? I'm sweating, crying, the neighbours are complaining and the mrs walks out the office giving it what's going on and then starts coughing like a TB victim ?3 points

Pet rats, as we know them today, started off as wild colour mutations, caught and kept by old time rat catchers. Not an every day occurrence then. But enough out there that a man exposed to enough rats could make a collection. Your white one would look so clean simply because it's white. Fact is, practically all wild rats are clean. They're scrupulously fastidious creatures.2 points

Talking to the Butcher today and he said there is no shortage of meat. Some pigs are killed with co2 but Britain's meat supplies don't rely on it. Think a lot of prepacked supermarket meat uses co2 in the packing process. Load of bullshite like most things....probably be used to reduce farms in the UK and import more meat from abroad. Wouldn't surprise me if next week Boris signs a meat supplies deal with fckin wuhan2 points

As Phil says in a later post, ACDs have a bit of a reputation for being "a bit funny" with strangers. I've had several occasions when people will give my pure kelpies a wide berth as they've assumed that they were "like those Australian cattle dogs" and were therefore not 100% trustworthy. I met one chap, many years ago, who'd nearly come a cropper while camping in Australia and taking a shortcut across a field with a heeler in it...he just about made it to the fence with his trousers intact. Also as Phil says (he knows his stuff?) temperaments vary a lot even within 'friendly' or '2 points
