  3. Was telling my buddy about how much you guys liked our turtles and snakes and stuff and he sent me this saying y'all would probably enjoy it. Said this was from one of his duck hunting groups. Decent sized alligator snapping turtle in one if the duck swamps these guys hunt. Apparently in swamps where theirs a decent population it's not uncommon to be shooting or waiting on ducks and all of a sudden you just start moving as you where actually standing on top of one . I've only ever caught one and it was 1/4 if this ones size but was still easily 60lbs so wouldn't surprise me i

  6. Not doubting for a moment some are dug or that some are healthy but as a type no doubt heading for KC reg with all its clubs and registration the vast majority are bred down from stock riddled with quite major physical faults although working them and then culling will sort out some of the wheat from the chaff? WHWT stuff are the ones I've always thought of as a tidy type and as for westie being dug I also took one digging for a friend 20 years ago it was ok but I've also dug to cocker and Springer spaniel foxhounds of all types , collies and lurchers my observation and point of view are n

  10. I ran a small pack of hounds had a few beagle harrier xs in it, they was great hunters, I found easiest of the lot to keep off rabbit and was great to mark earth's, and put foxes under a bit more pressure to break off cover or drop to ground. I nearly lost my leg due to infection and diabetes but on the mend now so come September I will have a small pack again and I think it will be mainly beagle x harriers I'll be going for

  16. Hello All, Had a short chat with Snoop earlier and unfortunately Razor left us last week. This special dog was born on 4th Sept 2008. Provided one man with 6 long hard seasons performing at the highest level. He has sired some great dogs and his name lives on through them. I know there are a lot of you on here running dogs with his blood so thought it was right thing to do and share the sad news. Rest in peace this most special of dogs. RIP Razor

  18. Once the initial adrenaline dump was done I'd have loved to have chatted with him. He'd been out there a long time without doubt but my mind is filling in the blanks with the history. It does raise the spectre of whether he was alone or whether he was a scouting party regarding a potential bumming...

  21. I know bitcoin can be traded on FOREX, but to be honest, I get a headache trying to work it out ! You have to buy a "hard currency" with your bitcoin, then you can trade your usd for yen or whatever, then when you cash out, your usd may have gained on the yen, but the bitcoin may have surged ahead, but you get paid out on your origional bitcoin rate, so you lose out ? I'll stick to gold ! ? ! Cheers.

  22. Not dabbled myself but everyone I know who does seems to become totally obsessed with it and spends their every waking hour looking after it . They seem to like to rattle figures about but I never see them get anything actually tangible out of it. I don't particularly have a great understanding of it all tbh but the old saying "if something seems to good to be true..." comes to mind

  25. I love going out to watch those when they arrive here for the summer. Good for locating kills in the forest! 3 years ago I was out walking the dogs in the forest while I was out twitching for Turkey Vultures. I was about 2 hours out, in the middle of no where, following the forestry tracks when a bloke stepped out of the woods ahead of me. He was dressed in buckskins, had a massive beard and looked like he hadn't washed in a decade. Had an old lever action rifle slung over his shoulder. I stopped in my tracks and the ACD I have growled. I waved at him. He waved back. As I took a step tow

  27. I was out for 2 hours yesterday and lost all feeling in my extremities ... crampons and ice picks aren't for me. Moved away from Canada because of the cold, I can't hack it ? Lakes remind me of home, especially the smell after it rains in summer. It's not long from here and always worth the drive. I follow two guys on Instagram who post routes for Lancashire walks and they're quite good. I kinda like going places on my own and getting lost - I'm shit at maps ? I got to see some great local places last year ? I've not been to the Peak District yet but that's on the list for my post lo

  28. Haha.. no, did a 9 miler around Hart crag and Fairfield unscathed but legs went from under me when we were nearly back at the car. Think it was a patch of moss at side of a streem just down from Patterdale!! Yes, it's some places the Lakes isn't it. 3 hr run from here in Notts.. makes it a long day out but well worth it. My sister lives in Penrith and is always begging me get my ass up there and get out walking with her. She's living the dream up there... she had the crampons on and ice picks out last week tackling some gulley on Helvellyn!? I'll keep you posted on the flask front!!

  30. My Mrs started playing some awful whistly screechy noise on her phone...I told her to turn it off, doing my head in.... apparently its a noise that's been created to play through speakers put teenagers off hanging around being asbos. Once you recha mid 20s your not supposed to hear it. Missus, 35, couldn't hear anything. My daughter asked how come daddy can?? Apparently it's because I'm not a proper serious grown up!!! I can hear them all...
