  1. Bred several litters in the 1980s/1990s,..we worked them most nights,... Straight cross twixt Ardkinglas Deerhound and Irish Coursing Greyhounds.. The next cross, back to the Greyhound was always far more agile and useful product. Great dogs for the Roe...? We then put our 3/4 bred hybrids over big whippets...then we were cooking...? Terrific old-style longdogs,.great to see lads still enjoying them...

  16. It’s a 11degrees here now the temp isn’t to bad but the ground is still baked through lack of the wet stuff the rape seed fields still have solid stubble sticking out the ground that could blind a dog the wheat fields are look lovely from a distance till you look close up an see 1-2inch cracks were the crop sucked the life out the ground the pasture land is also solid under foot when recalling the dog on general walks you can hear the ground rumble under foot I’ll not be in no rush to get going there’s all the time in the world to get up an running I think come October time I’ll start ??

  24. I used to own a Donkey, an entire jack,it killed all my sheep on a small paddock, injured two of my dogs and ended up killing the neighbours bull terrier. My mate who rode rodeo bulls wouldn't get on it.A bloke bought it off me and castrated it and it ended up giving rides to kids at shows and never had a problem with it.

  25. Pretty much it. I take some surgical gloves too. Twice in 5 years I reckon I have saved my dog from severe bleeds. Without having it on me there and then he would have bled out. Rarely leave home without one now.

Went to farm tonight at 1945 just to get set up and see if I could see any foxs about when it got dark. These two appeared about five minutes apart and just before dark and I never had to use the torch.I stayed till 2100 just in case there were anymore about then packed in.Just as i was leaving the farm I saw another which I will have a go at another time.

Not being a partridge shoot they don’t cause me any problems, I’ve had one get in a pen once and all it did was spook the birds and upset the pen , but no killing. I wouldn’t dream of killing someone’s pet . But whenever a cat goes missing I always get a call “ have you seen Tibbles “? Or “can you keep an eye out for my cat , I haven’t seen it for a few days”? I read into this that what they are really saying is “have you shot my cat “? The cats invariably turn back up , but I never get a call saying “panic

  29. So I gathered up the long one and headed up to the sheep farm for a wonder, on arrival we had half an hour chat with my good mate who’s running the farm while farmer John is away enjoying a bit of sun before the hard work starts, we headed down the farm to the wheat and rape stubbles, past the sheep to the top gate, a quick run round the field with the lamp and there was the eye shine, passing the lamp to longshanx I mounted the rifle and gave a few blasts on the caller, the ginger headed straight towards us stopping about 75 yards ish from us on the stubbles, with the wind behind us it knew t

  32. Can’t go wrong with the source boilies. Went to France carp fishing last year for a week and they were what worked best. Always got a bag with me even if I’m not going to fish with them that day it’s good to have a few with you. My mate swears by them

  33. ....I got two vixens tonight! One was straight forward. A 100 yard off hand shot. She only had one eye but otherwise healthy. The second Vixen was a messy affair with a lot of luck thrown in! I spotted her across the stream from the stubble field I was in to the pasture strip she was in. Behind her was noisy maize from the wind that hid my noisy approach to a handy round bale. By the time I got to the bale she was just in the hedge of the maize field so I squealed. Well she came in a treat, jumped the stream and bingo a rested 50yarder.....missed! Can't of I said. Wen

  38. That’s bang out of order, they don’t tend to make it back home with a .243 size hole in them, you would think a vet could tell the difference between a road accident and being shot, I f*cking hate cats and cat owners ( my wife has a cat ?)
