  7. As the Americans say on their hunting videos “fur down “ or as the English say and I prefer “got the b*****d “ !!! I wish dear THL friends that I could regale you all with a tale of how I outwitted the elusive vulpine with my skill and cunning, or even with the use of my caller with some obscure sound . But the reality is that I drove into a field near the scene of his crime and there it was eating something. I’d spotted it with my thermal and this time it hung around long enough to get set up for a shot . And that was it .

Been after this one since the start of the season , big animal no head , I’ve had him in the scope about four times but he’s either been in front , behind or I’ve had no backstop ..this morning his luck run out .Just in the edge of the wood with about twenty five doe’s and fawns with him he presented a shot at eighty yards through the trees ..how he was holding doe’s with his headgear I don’t know , I’ve watched him several times chase of better bucks purely down I think to body weight .. his right antler was broken of the other side was malformed..I thought he was going to do for

  12. I have been setting up my trailcam at various locations, trying to monitor routines and numbers of foxes, rabbits, pheasants etc. , very much hoping for some good shots in the process. Today when reviewing the past weeks footage I saw this and was totally shocked. The trailcam was tied to a stick and stuck in the ground where 3 fields adjoin and nearby a stream over the back of the house.

  13. Since i get 100s of geese every year i splashed out on a 2/3hp meat grinder. I clean the geese and the good breast meat gets distributed to low income people i know, i keep a few and the shot breasts are ground up for dog/cat food. just on friday i picked up the slicer. Been after one for years. Cooked up an elk roast sunday and it sliced it perfectly. i have just ran two goose breasts thru it and going to make some jerky

  14. Took dear old Dusty for her last walk today...? I was gifted this good-hearted pup, from a guy that in reality, I hardly knew. I traveled from my home in Hampshire to a Welsh Valley and collected her... She was a super friendly pup and fitted into our lifestyle, no problem. She served me well, for nine long years, we had some good times, caught vanloads of game and enjoyed plenty of laughs,... I am sad to say goodbye ... Alas, the Big C has no mercy and seems to enjoy inflicting horrendous pain.? I feel privileged to deny this heartless monster it's perverse en

Lot of lazy feckers on here by the sound of things, I was 11 1/2 stone at my fighting fittest, when I was in my late teens early twenty,s, at nearly 57 years old I,m just over 12stone and have never been on a diet in my life, i don't drink fizzy drinks and I don't eat Maccy, D, kfc or any other fast food shite, can't say I never have(odd one) but they are not part of my mainstream diet, i do physical work every day and if I,m not grafting I,m out with my dogs walking or fixing shit around the house or for other people, sadly people are encouraged to sit in front of a screen and have everythin

  17. Just been feeding and went to dump the body , had a look at its teeth and I’d say there was a bit of age to the vixen . It was eating a pigeon. We have got Beech woods here and we have thousands of pigeons on the Beech mast . A lot are dying of sour crop , and Charlie and the Buzzards are clearing them up

  23. I always find they return to vehicle if not injured but have found them after rewalking same ground the next day and giving a few hollers. If it's stormy they will lie up in a dry spot near earth that they drop in. My fathers bitch injured her toe from a fox bite and laid up and I spent 36 hours searching before I found her. Her kennel mate wouldn't leave her and She was too heavy for me to carry 2 miles across bad ground but her mate kept going back and nuzzling her and encouraged her to walk home and spent full night with her when she could of easily found her own way home. Bitch died sinc

  26. Mate I don't eat the Trooping Funnel yet!! Its not Russian roulette just stick to the easy ones. In one post I put up a link to that same Wildfood site that show the top ten easy and safe ones. Like the Giant Puff Ball and the Hedge Hog Mushroom (around now very good) easy to ID, Chanterelles only one you could muddle with the False Chanterelle which is quite easy to see the difference. The Winter Chanterelle (Yellow Legs) and it must have yellow stem and is around starting now and good. Also Bolete's if you stick to a rule of thumb no red on them and don't go blue when cut. There is one Bolet

  29. I was with Hastings for a couple of years with my car insurance until I got a renewal quote through the post that had pretty much doubled it to over £800 . I went on the comparison sites and Hastings themselves gave the best quote that was near enough what I was already paying so I rang them and told them I was not accepting the 800 quote because they had quoted half that on the comparison site . The bloke on the phone said I’ll see what I can do and came back with £650 and was genuinely surprised when I said no because you’ve already quoted 420 online. I could have just gone through the onlin

I'll have a tenner on it being a freak event that won't happen again Ps, good luck & atb with your new little'un.

I believe they are now owned by ysangysong another cheap tacky car with a trusted badge stuck on the grill, a bit like Vauxhall are all Renault,s but people trust Vauxhall more so they by a shite car because of the badge, the last real land rovers were the 300 tdi powered models from there onwards it's all down Hill and a camo paint job don't make it any better,
