  1. We I thought I'd let you know how I got on meeting greyman. Drove and met him at his, quick cuppa and we were off down the motorway to meet 2 witnesses who had, had an incounter with what they believed was a big cat..... Arrived at the address and were met by an old couple (late 60's maybe older) the old boy a keeper then took us to the spot along with his wife..... We spent a few hrs chatting and setting up trailcams next to a pond and along runs in the hedges being used by the deer etc( to be fair it was alive, plenty of food) added bonus of a few carcasses in the hedges which we collected

  5. Since retirement I have dabbled with a bit of painting and drawing, and largely enjoyed it. Done all sorts of subjects (except hunting scenes) in watercolour, oil paint and a few graphite drawings. Last couple of years I've not been able to find the enthusiasm to restart. I have tried different styles as well, even had a go at the Bob Ross method in oils. I have sold a few and done a few commissions for people and given a fair few away. Did a watercolour doberman for my brother Done my son's dog some years back and sent it out to Aussie for him

  8. No mate just pointing out what seemed blatantly obvious. He said he's seen enough to convince himself, and enough to understand why he [GM] won't post it. Reading between the lines he will honour that confidence by not breaking it. For the record, I won't be convinced until I see the credible evidence. I'm sat on a giant stack of joke books until then.

  10. It reminds me of Educating Rita...she was married & worked as a hair dresser ..her old man wanted the stereotypical family & sat night in the pub having a sing song with the family...she wasnt happy just plodding on doing what was expected of her so she went to night school ... she had to hide her contraceptive pills from him & he found them ... he also burnt her books to stop her studying ...its simply a form of control I wanted to do a diploma in criminology but I knew if i had booked the course it would have been a nightmare .... I will do it before I get to senile ... wo

  11. He landed Saturday. 8 weeks old on the nose. So far clean in house, bang on basic commands. Sit, leave, down. Crys like a bitch when left though hates his crate, tough love he will be right enough. Other 2 older dogs will play with him outdoors but give a growl indoors if he gets in there faces, but no snapping ect. Happy with him. Onwards and upwards. Not nervy infact a confident outgoing strong pup.

In a recent post I put up, I met up with a guy called Jonesy who I took out with me to give a few tips on ferreting; he asked about the type of dog I would recommend, I said hard to go wrong with a whippet stag x mate, he just picked up this little 9 week old beauty, from working stock from a mobile butcher in Bendigo, great looking bitch pup, he will be out with me again this Thursday, will be good to get a good look at it. 17. 100 % spot on John, I can only draw from personal experience & I couldn't confide in anybody because I knew he would make my life a misery if I did. & I didnt know if he would harm the kids, that unspoken threat loomed over me 24/7 ... I think people think you have to be beaten to a pulp for it to be abuse & control issue. Things like him hiding my sons asthma meds & then them re appearing & him saying it was there all the time & it was my hormones & my baby brain.... he stood over me while I ate, he prepared food & he went through the bins incase I had had

  19. I am not being abusive or controlling. I am simply asking a question. I think to draw on personal experience is relevant in a debate like this. Domestic violence is something you never ever forget. I'm nearly 70 and still get flashbacks and nightmares from my experiences as a kid. Plenty of others are in the same boat. Controlling behaviour is sometimes obvious but often insidious. I remember our whole family being on edge as soon as my dad walked in the door. In fact I think his criticism and evil moods were worse than the actual violence. Seriously, bruises can heal but never ending criticis

  20. BH I think you are making light of a huge problem. Controlling behaviour is not just being occasionally critical or cruel. It's a method of destroying another human being. Slowly drip by drip over time. It's mostly perpetrated by men but as your example shows also by women. If some evil creep can be stopped before his behaviour escalates to violence then I welcome the new law. 22. The History Channel did a bit on Kubrick and they interviewed Ermey about his role. I don't think he actually acted any of it. It was just how he did it when he was with recruits. He opened up about his time as a drill instructor and told about how much pressure they were under to get them battle ready for Vietnam. He mentioned that they'd check the obituaries to see if any of their lads were killed in country and you can tell it was genuinely moving for him. Decent bloke by all accounts.

  25. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/16/controlling-girlfriend-first-woman-convicted-new-domestic-abuse/ I get that she was probably a shitty human being and the charges of GBH and assault are unquestionably valid. But "controlling behaviour"..... really? This seems like one of those dangerous laws that will be abused and simply shifts the burden of being a f***ing adult onto someone else. Maybe I'm being a c**t, which is why I have posted this. But surely we should expect folks to have the strength and character to take on the responsibility for their own lives and have t

  32. Controlling comes in many guises , example woman & bloke have kiddie... relationship breaks up, woman uses child to control bloke, denies him access unless he adheres to '' her'' rules... its control.... woman is homemaker , bloke keeps her short of money, she is pretty much tied to the house... with no car or money to use public transport... its control Take it from me being in a relationship where control is a daily occurrence it breaks you down over time..... most unpleasant scary time of my adult life , this woman is clearly not right & deserved to be sentenced

  33. There have always been, and always will be, people who control others either through a sense of their own inadequacy or simply because they're evil b*****ds, or bitches. Put the quoted scenario into a medieval setting and the guy would probably have been dead a long time before, most likely at the hands of his peers: get rid of the weakling in the pack. Actually, scrub that, he would probably have been a slave, much the same as he was in the hands of that woman. Unfortunately, sticking her in prison won't do anything to stop this kind of thing happening again. We are all properly outraged at w

  39. Why does the French terrierman like a big dug hole? Because he always digs with a pickaxe and so he needs a big place. On the other hand, he spots the dog with a bar. It's not always very precise. A large hole reduces the risk of digging in the wrong place. Moreover, he isn't hurry and he isn't alone in digging. Over here, a very good dug hole is : rectangular, straight walls, sharp angles, broken behind the dog or just above. The best is flat bottom at the bottom of the gallery before taking the dog. One search, one dog, one badger. Honestly, We don't dig like this ea
