  2. After getting a few good runs on his first trip out, I've been waiting for another chance to get out lamping with my 18 month old dog, Atta. In my previous entry under new members introduction, entitled, First Night Nerves, I described my first ever lamping trip with a very experienced bloke I know. Although he did well on the first trip, he didn't connect with a rabbit so I was still not sure how he was going to perform. Last night we had perfect conditions, good wind, no moon, bit of rain. My stomach was turning somersaults... I already knew he had plenty of drive and the ability to cat

  4. Another walk out today. Was ok on the lower ground but visibility on the Tors was pretty poor. Dogs had a couple of runs in the cover on the low ground. A bit of fresh air if nothing else!

  5. I definitely think that Julian would be well advised to keep his gob shut and his opinions to himself. No matter what some of the hunting set think or believe, the majority of them know better than to spout off in front of a camera. We all need to remember the countryside marches, where we all stood shoulder to shoulder through the streets of our capital , pheasant shooters , ferret fanciers, Lurcher boys , hunt staff , terrier lads , beaters , you name it . We were all united on those days . Hunting is the thin end of the wedge, once that’s gone they will start on something else . But the rea

Utter shit you may be half german I have full German nationality and if there were a way you’d be stripped of any entitlement to German heritage with talk like that your heading down a very dangerous road the “Jews” the “Muslims” Yes we should stop catering to the Muslims-specifically and yes anyone who steps out of line should be deported where applicable but your implying we should have a final solution and emulate what hitler dis youre a f***ing moron

  14. The thing about fox hunting is it’s got very little to do with killing stuff , and a lot to do with horse riding . I’m a keeper who keeps terriers and does a bit with the local hunt and help the terrier man a few times during the season . What I’ve noticed is a lot of being a hunt terrier man is being able to be a representative for the hunt , liaise with keepers and land owners , and be personable , diplomatic, and trustworthy. The hunting scene is a bit cliquey , and they don’t trust newcomers (for fear of anti infiltration) . A lot of dog lads are rough and ready types . Who can come acros

  15. If you can get near to some water, river, lake or the sea,..there is nothing better for dogs, than a wee bit of splashing around and gentle swimming. Great exercise,..safe on the joints and muscles, and seems to really relax, even the most vigorous and active jukel.

  16. Had a day owed to me and fancied getting up on the moor whilst we had the weather. Had an area in mind where we have had a couple of decent runs in the past. Unfortunately the military ranges were open when I got there so I moved to a new area. Mid week is really quiet up there and I only bumped into 2 other people all day. Cold wind but the sun was up and visibility was good. Been up there in all types of weather but cold with the sun up is unbeatable. Seen a couple of rabbits in the lower cover and the lurcher followed a couple of lines higher up which just ended at great piles of rocks. Alt

  27. Imagine my surprise last year when I saw a vulture fly over my house in avonmouth, not once but two evenings on the trott, turned out I was not hallucinating it was a lamaguire vulture with a 9ft wingspan, they recon it was a young bird from a release program in Europe that had got lost, a pretty amazing spectacle especially the distance it could travel without flapping its wings

  28. It's nice when they have sentimental value like that I wouldn't know how much a shop would charge - I've always done my own. If you fancy giving it a go, they're really not complicated - we're really only talking a chamber where a spring pushes a piston forward to ram air up a barrel, behind a pellet. ....... it won't be a complete disassembly like the diagram. Have a look at this link - you may need to copy and paste it into your browser. angryangryguncompany.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/webley-and-scott-hawk-mk-ii.html?m=1 Alternatively,

  39. They would definitely sell terrierwork for a return to free range hollering and tallyhoing .It all came to a head with me one day when I had a gate slammed shut as I approached on the quad and told I wasn't welcome at the dig .The same hunt where I got the nickname of foxdropper and for those of you unaware of hunt history ,a foxdropper was the person who provided a fox when needed ,ready to go .Up til then rumours had it I was supplying a nearby hunt with their foxes too which was bollocks.Rumour started by a jealous so called pro terrierman .Started digging seriously from then on and kille

  40. Ok mate did you read first link ? I agree she was a brilliant athlete but there is so much circumstantial evidence as well as her previous times before smashing the world records out of nowhere in the 1988 Seoul games and also alleged failed tests as well as retiring straight after the Olympics in 1988 were she broke the world records just as compulsory random drug testing was being introduced that leave doubt over her legacy .
