I genuinely think it’s more simple than that mate, almost to a man none of them want to leave this massive and very lucrative club for people just like themselves and they have found the way to f**k over the electorate........no more, no less. Looks like good old Blighty is surrounded by enemies........but in the words of the famous American Dick Winters “We are paratroopers son, we are meant to be surrounded”8 points

Back out after her whelping duties are well and truly over now. Decided not to take it to seriously today and just do a bit of bolting ended up with seven but it was good to have a couple of hours out regardless of the size of the bag. ?7 points

i used to take a perverse pride in it mate , if anyone asked “ whose you’re dad son? “ “I haven’t got one” was the reply I have a son of my own now, he looks like me so he looks like my dad. He’ll never know him. Or ever need to. “A man makes his own way in this world, nobody gives you anything , you have to take it. Non servium “7 points

I don't get all this fuss over meeting long lost family. If you don't know them you can't feel any thing for them. The less family that come out of the closet the better. Most people all ways want some thing. I met my old man for first time when i was about 20. Silly sod was piss ahead and I never bothered with him. He drunk him self to death in the end so I heard. I just stick with my own family wife and kids that is enough for me7 points

You have your own family now, thats the important thing,my kids never saw my father, when they were small I used to tell them my parents died in a plane crash it shut them up my father died last year, hadnt seen him since I was 16,he had cancer, not my problem, never went to his funeral, never really thought of it till now.My kids now call me a cruel f****r and laugh BUT I would crawl over broken glass for them that's the difference.6 points

When the boil is done. Let them cool off in the water, remove some water and then take out bottles, ready for the next batch. So from here we let them cool off overnight and then store them in the Cellar, 270 odd bottles done and a nice social family day where the kids learned how to make sauce the normal healthy way, BIG pig out on wog sausage and sliced cured ham meats, cheese, some pork steaks, salads, wine and of course...... Home-made PASTA, with fresh Home-made SAUCE by the kids own hands. There endeth the lesson, hope you enjoyed the trip.6 points

I had a similar thing , my dad never bothered with me not one iota , he had me to my mam and two kids to another , then he stepped away and moved his ready made family into the house next door to my nana the necky c**t , christmases saw his other two kids going in etc and when they had kids the same. I got nothing , as well in nothing at 16 when it was apparent I was the only one to make something of myself , he tried to build bridges do he got told that he was alright but he’s not my dad I speak , I say Hiya in the pub, that’s it. The sad thing is that we would h5 points

Joking aside I have some experience of this in so much as my wife has a very similar situation. I have watched her make an effort only to be let down time and time again over the years but it’s her dad and so I let her crack on and just support her when it inevitably leads to a kick in the teeth. So, from my experience I can say this, the bloke knew he had a son......and he makes no effort at all in 25 years to see that son, that my friends has all the hallmarks of a f***ing immature prick! Wild horses wouldn’t stop me seeing a child of mine so you have to ask yourself, if it wa5 points

good thread above ken, add to that , i would meet him up as he said, then after just see him few times a year, like as now , just pop round with xmas card or his birthday etc, just the odd visit , and leave it at that. Me and my dad never got on , if in the same room would end up like couple pits having a go, i looked after him when he was dying of cancer the last 6 months , we kind of made it up then , just before he died he told me i was a great son, any man would be proud of . i tell you what he been dead 6 years, and mom 11 years , bloody hell do i miss them, i even mis5 points

When you first met he was obviously on his best behaviour to impress you but as time whent by his true colours emerged and you seen him for what he really was ... time is to short to piss about on people that fukc you around even relatives ... it's not fair on your kids to have him in and out of their lives when he feels like it ... I would stay in touch with your siblings and be civil to your old fella when you see him but I wouldn't actively want him in my life .......5 points

Rescue centres usually charge the same as David Hancock! It looks like a second cross to me as first crosses usually have pendulum ears like a bedlington but I could be wrong, as for males not making good hunters that's bollocks, but after saying all that it could make a great little dog,all the best with it.4 points

Funny you should post that, my friend. I've just had a similar conversation with my dad. His biological dad ran out on him before he was born. His step-dad took him on after WW2 and raised him as his own. I've been really fortunate as I've always had my dad around. When we were younger I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him and it wasn't clear why until I had kids of my own. It's all about providing. Flash forward to 2017 and they've flown out here for Christmas. I've been looking forward to it since they got the flights sorted, and so have they. I love every minute that they're her4 points

Very cold day out over the welsh hills today. Sadly drew a blank but things can’t always go your way. Still plenty of exercise for the monsters and myself and some very idyllic scenery of the welsh hills!4 points

Nature is a stone cold savage mother f****r of a bitch! Most folks just arent used to seeing it so raw. That's probably the reality for most polar bears, either that or drowning during the melt? Kinda puts rifling one, or any other act of hunting that gets greenies all emotional, into context I think.4 points

There's an argument to be made that on such constitutionally ground shaking matters there should be a two thirds majority to ensure there is the will to see it through..... an argument, not one I'm convinced by. LOL LOL The one thing I'm taking from this is that we will have greater freedom by the end of it..... hopefully! And I've played my part in causing some shit for the establishment. I'm turning into a bit of an anarchist!4 points

Frankly the moment the EU started taking charge of how the negotiations would go and treating the UK like a minor in the whole matter I'd have told them to suck my dick in bureaucrat lingo and walked. You can't go into that sort of negotiation without a willingness to watch the world burn and expect to better a much more powerful opposition.4 points

Britain leaves EU. EU initiates divorce proceedings. Britain hires worst solicitors imaginable to negotiate the divorce settlement. EU gets the house, the car, and the kids. Britain has to pay £40bn for child support.4 points

Not many hares are going to get far in the snow on a open field so very unsportsmanlike foxes An deer stand out like a sore thumb at night no need for a lamp it’s kind of pointless even bothing to hunt just enjoy the snow it will soon be melted3 points

Don't listen to any advice on here as their is probably a forum somewhere for THL members dads where all they talk about is what ungrateful little spoilt make no effort w*nkers that their sons are.????3 points

Fair one, mate. I have a rule I apply to many situations. First is a fluke. Second is a coincidence. The third is a pattern. I sleep better knowing that once those criteria are fulfilled I don't have to waste further energy on the matter and I can concentrate on other more important things. I know that way I haven't left anything to chance.3 points

Born. Joking aside it seems like a bad deal from this side of the pond. One side you've got a coalition of bureaucrats with a few billion to lose. On the other side, you've got a collection of politicians who didn't really believe this would happen. Don't support the public opinion despite being civil servants but fortunately for them, they are backed by 60 million people that would rather watch the telly. I honestly don't see how this can be won with what is essentially a local authority mentality. They're trying to change international policy with a council meeting and fond memories of3 points

how do we know, its not just a very old bear unable to hunt anymore ? ive met a guy who worked in far north canada as a ranger, and he said to me that in his opinion that the polar bear population is doing well. Bears are very adaptable, and most of there summer range is ice free3 points

Because some people have a genuine interest in what I do, then there are the wiki wankers like yourself that sit at home posting pages from your favourite site with no real knowledge of anything outside your front door, but congratulations you are consistently the most boring fun sponge it's been my displeasure to virtually meet, but I'm told every site has to have one,3 points

Loads of good points on here lads, really good thread. The problem as I see it is British politicians appear to be the worst business people in the world, so they are f****d when sitting at the top table an d negotiating on behalf of all of us, and hard negotiating is the only way forward IMO. I know a lot think we could just vote out and walk away the next day as if we were never part of the whole master state bullshit, but that was never the case... I voted out, I run a couple of businesses and one of these involves trade into Europe and other parts of the world, it was a bus3 points
