  2. Just out walking the dogs last night on a great spot horse riding trail place. Been some Myxi on there end of summer so its nice to see it doing well. Rabbits out in the open. Chased a Charlie and missed loads of rabbit because little dog who’s a chihuahua Russell doesn’t really play stealth and crys like a hound behind stuff. Good little dog bushing and ratting for me but pain in the arse walking out at night, can’t expect any better to be honest, that’s all it was, a walk, no collar or leads. Anyway lurcher had 2 rabbits ready for my tea tonight. And perfect live retrieves which I just love

  12. True!…..they have been talking about culling the national herd. Make you despair when they talk about nitrogen pollution when farmers are actively encouraged to spread tons and tons of chemical nitrogen on single species grass based systems !!……that’s how you know it’s all bollocks ! If they were serious about the environment they would be encouraging farmers to pursue a regenerative mixed species system, plant trees and make sure they can get the right money for their their product instead of artificially keeping food prices low so they can nick peoples money in other areas instead

  28. The age 72 always reminds me of a notorious poacher around this way many years ago called Len (Bush) Mangham Dave Sleight wrote about him a few times in the earth dog running dog magazine. He received a prison sentence at that age after a poaching incident on the Wentworth estate were a keeper got knocked out by him .

  34. Well no pics. But an idea I’ve had for a while. I’m doing venison faggots. I’ve had such a lot lately that decided to give them a go. Basically same recipe as normal but using minced venison and minced belly pork. The only offal will be venison kidney. Same herbs and breadcrumbs. The lads down the pub are salivating. Jok.

  35. I have had that a couple of times in my life and I have to say, it’s one of the few thing I just can’t let slide. I absolutely have to let them have the “what’s wrong with you you miserable c**t ?” Basic manners is one of my big triggers in life.

( just strangers). My pal starts in with: ”Awight lads, ow iz ol Tubby these days” to the lads behind the ramp. Im cringing and laughing at the same time and me and the two strangers are eyeballing each other & grinning because it’s all so chronic but funny. My pal carries on: ”Luv a bit of jellied eels me, ows he doing my old pal Tubby” The lad behind the ramp with the b

  45. Me and my son climbed Scafell last year when I was 73. I was a bit worried whether I could a) get up and b) keep up. I reached the top and there was a married couple who were 86 and 84! The woman was frail in my book but God she was game. They recommended those Nordic style walking sticks. I've got some now and they really relieve pressure on the knees, especially descending. Getting old is a mix of the physical and psychological.
