Having a bit of a maudlin moment after a few beers. This was by far the best dog I have ever owned. Died just over a year ago aged four years ten months. RIP Una, the dog of a lifetime.15 points

Tough going today, first dig of the season for me to a second season bitch. Done very well in a big spot. Tried a couple nothing at home, decided we would try one more before we headed home. Dropped her and she was on quickly. Got a mark in the middle of 10 foot high briars under neath a fallen ivy tree. Took a good while to get in and get the place cleared. It was only about a metre so we Started to dig in the lashing rain and hit layers of shingle rock. Could only chip a layer out with the graft and scoop out the loose stuff. Broke through about 2 hrs later . Back to my mates house for dinne11 points

Today we made a start on the first to do places, the forecast was cloudy but warm, we split up and went or separate ways, it wasn’t long before I got a markresulting in a quick bolt, balled up lovely then all went quiet so out with the locator and a quick dig with the temperature rising we called it a day just before dinner with 38 in the bag, not a bad few hours slowly getting back into the swing of things all nets collars and box supplied by rabbit fever. cheers NEIL B7 points

100%. World governments are constantly trying to switch the responsibility to individuals. When in practice nothing we can do will make any difference in any way. One policy change from government such as banning the importation of unnecessary plastic products, supporting British food production rather than importing it, producing things like steel at home rather than buying from China and India etc etc would instantly do more real good than making us feel guilty and pay more. Sad fact is 'climate emergency' is now another control tool and business opportunity ?7 points

You make what I did sound way too noble mate, it was no culmination of a noble quest, it was a decision made on the spare of the moment on a train back from Paris……I kid you not. It was a moment in time when I sat there and thought “Do you know what, I’ve had enough” ! I just didn’t like what I was looking at or where I thought it was heading any more. People think I’m joking when I tell them that but it was no grand plan, it just came into my head (as seems to be my life story ! Lol) and I looked across at the wife and said “Do you know what, I want to f**k off….what do you re5 points

No government in my life time have had our best interest at heart, you say constantly the only way to change things is at the ballot box...I agree in principle, but know it'll never happen...so you have to change things for yourself... You have, you put you and your family first and done what you think is right for them...that is action imo.... I think too many shout off a lot from behind a computer about governments and the establishment but don't do jack shit to change their own life an ounce... let alone a revolution to change the world ffs5 points

The pumpkins and Japanese squash plants went mad this Summer. This is only half of the crop and l only had four plants! Weirdly the green knobbly squash grew on the same plant as the orange ones . Just about anything that was available a month ago went into the wine ; apples, pears ,plums ,sloes, blackberries, bullaces and sprig of fennel. A pretty random mix . It's bubbling like mad scientist's experiment and shows no sign of slowing down . The damson jelly took a couple of attempts to get right but has passed the approval test. Well at least nobody l gave jars to has expir4 points

Thats the best way.... I love stuff like that . We are very similar, we don't mull over decisions too long, my wife is luckily or unluckily as impulsive as me so we tend to just say f**k it and do it... From going through the free ads looking for a double bed not long after getting together and seeing a litter of spaniels... looked at her and said I wouldn't mind a spaniel...so no bed but brought a spaniels home that night... To walking down the garden of this place, knowing full well we couldn't afford it.... but as usual I said "what do you think" her response "I can see us he4 points

Popped out today intending on decoying corvids again as they have been on a drilled field all week but today they had other ideas. I only shot 4 crows and it was dead so went for a wander looking for squirrels and ended up setting up again on a stubble but still nothing moving and only shot a few birds so decided to go home. As I went through the farmyard I spotted some magpies so decided to give them a try . Glad I did as on this little mooch I shot 3 magpies and another 3 squirrels. I got a unique right and left of squirrel and magpie ? So not too bad a day in the end mopping up vermin with4 points

She was good, but to be fair a massive part of it was just the bound between us and her attitude to life, she was my best mate and the most biddable, well mannered animal I’ve owned. Never worried about anything other than making me happy. And absolutely zero reverse gear on anything with teeth. Just an absolute pleasure to own and work.4 points

Britain’s a funny old place……. some peaceful people sit down in the road to make a point about something they care about and we want them smashed to bits because they are all the c**ts under the sun…… A load of foreigners and their pets smash the gaff to bits, vandalise our history, call us all rude names, force everyone to grovel about on their knees and we all stand and clap them in our tens of thousands. Bizarre !4 points

Lots of shite up on that old country blood page. A mate of mine sent in pics of two wheaten x’s and he used the pics no problem , then the dogs both useless and he used his pics without asking a two years on gloating about the dogs and wouldn’t take them down. There’s pics of ‘strong dogs’ on it that wouldn’t pull the socks off a dead man. All he wants is Kerry blues??4 points

U can’t put a number on how many digs another mans dog should have. It Depends on there working style. Whoever owns the dog will know how they work and will know how much he can and would like to get out of it in the season. U can only dig them when there fit to be dug.3 points

The crafty fekers to my knowledge have lumped it all together the crime and policing bill as every one in their right mind would like to see harsher sentences for serious crimes but not on our rights to protest.3 points

Thought I’d have a break from the work around the shoot this evening and take myself for a walk around some local fields to shoot a few rabbits, now I know it was a full moon and as still as it could be but I expected to see a bit more than I did, half a dozen rabbits seen, 2 rabbits shot and one of them wasn’t on my fields, I did notice a hell of a lot of mice through the thermal, no wonder there’s so many barn owls around, well, not much shooting but it was nice to be out on my own for a bit3 points
