? This freelancing business has always been a contentious subject,..and my guess is, it always will be? I cannot speak for the Dales hunters,..I live in the Deep South, and Landowners, Keepers and Farmer's attitudes to 'lads just having a wee wander'...is completely different... It frequently gets, emotional..? In my area, good rabbiting areas are at a premium..we just don't have the big numbers of seemingly endless populations of conies and when you hit a place really hard and serious,..then,..that is often, that.... We do not have the geographical terrain that allows rabb9 points

Mate...... why out of curiosity try to start a war over a few poxy rabbits ? lads threatening to batter people, burn vans, phone peoples bosses etc. It’s not a Taliban insurrection, Its a fella doing a bit of rabbiting ? let’s get a bit of perspective, maybe put the big guns away. What harm is Rew actually doing ? Lads been going up knocking doors and jumping walls on other lads perms for years. If I am passing through there, go for a walk with dogs and happen to take a few rabbits off a place why is the keeper or your mate bothered and why do they want to go all Muhammad I’m ard bruce Lee ab9 points

Bloody great weekend again at the anti vegan comp. Brilliant to catch up with everybody again fantastic atmosphere the whole time. All the kids had a really nice time running around with lots of laughter. Apart from coming last and getting the rise taken out of me it was which I don't really mind anyway. I would like to thank Kev for doing so much of the organising and cooking all that meat and Shaun on the Sunday. Sock's mate for supplying those fantastic sausages and chicken and pork, wonderful grub. Thank you Joe for all the meat and cooking Saturday. Also many tha9 points

There’s just no need to get all stroppy about it. Sure if you’re smashing the place up and causing grief that’s one thing. But if it’s just a bit of light hearted poaching, it’s been going on for ever and isn’t going to stop. No need to be a twat on either side. If everyone stays calm and polite it’s usually fine and everyone has a bit more mutual respect. Coming up arms swinging like Jackie chan, shouting and screaming isn’t ever going to end well long term ? you’ll have a heart attack or something. Lying there in the slop twitching like a fish while mchulls saluki cocks it’s leg on you. Last8 points

I doubt it's landowners and keepers watching the forums they don't need to when it'll be fellow dog lads running to them with info.7 points

I don't know the ins and outs of this particular little spat, but here's my take on it; Poaching is fine, you take your chance, and if it comes on top, you do your best to get out of it. If you're caught, that's part of the risk and you don't moan about it ! If someone invites you onto their permission, and you boomerang back without their knowledge, well that's different, and a complete no-no in my book, in fact it's a snides trick. Cheers.7 points

J.Park with his line bred Breay stock , influences of both border and bull, mid 70's I think In 1850s a high sheriff bought a black broken coated bull + terrier from london and took it to the lakes5 points

I started my reloading journey a while ago . I’ve been upgrading and buying bits of kit as I gained experience . It’s not a cheap hobby , but the benefits are you can get a bit more accuracy out of your rifle and once all the kit is bought ( you will never have everything you want ) , it’s cheaper. I enjoy most parts of the reloading process, the cleaning, trimming, priming and seating, but hated the powder weighing. So I bought a Lyman gen 6 powder system, Why didn’t I get one sooner . It’s quick and accurate and I am now in reloading Nirvana. Peace out life’s good ?4 points

I was on my permission parked on the moor next to my permission. Doing nothing wrong. Now I park elsewhere lol If burning my van is really worth dozen rabbits then shame on the person that does that. My vehicle is what I earnt money from for my family. Your mate is obviously a very sad person and karma will get him back if he does anything like that mine or anyones vehicle who's just after a few rabbits4 points

This pup is a week old this morning .Last night we had a surprise tornado to come through.I took this pup off the bitch during the storm as sometimes a bitch will kill a pup during a tornado from anxiety. As this is the only pup I couldn’t risk it.As I sat holding this pup I began to think of the time her mother caught the coon in the middle of the river. Then I remembered when this pups sire had coonhound paralysis and my wife stayed with him and taught him to walk again.Wife nearly shot me for that one.As the storm raged outside I thought about this pups grand mother and digging to her w3 points

Well that’s it, I’m all set for the birds arrival tomorrow, feed and water in and around the pens, the birds will be here at 6am and much to my amazement 4 members volunteered to go up i mentioned earlier that a BOP had escaped from a local estate and had been seen around the shoot, well I got a glimpse of it tonight and although I didn’t see it long enough to identify it, it’s bloody massive, now I not worried about it killing 800 birds but I am bothered about it scaring the sh*t out of 800 birds, so I now need to contact the estate to find out what is going to be done about it ?3 points

I have often thought how technology is progressing. One day your scope will just be a mini computer which will range the target and adjust the scope for elevation and windage, press a button and job done. No more missing which is a shame as shooting will just be like a PC game .Sad really?3 points

Up until a couple of years ago we still used to go and run a few rabbits once the winter drilling’s went in, but with mosh having a heart attack and me being more involved with the shoot and all the other shooting related activities, sadly those days are over now i think I’ve put this picture on before, I have very few from back then, because we had no cameras on phones, come to think of it we didn’t have phones, Mosh looks really young here, he’s about 53 now3 points

I remember me and my mate being confronted by plod at a field gateway as we were leaving, ( lamp and rabbits , secreted in the hedge ) , “ you boys been lamping “ ? “ No “ , “ Lurcher’s , Hunter wellies , Barbour jackets, you boys have been lamping, we were watching the lamps shine across the fields “ , “f@ck me !!!! What are you ? Some sort of detectives ?️ “ , said my mate ……..It was a long night .?3 points

Only a coward would torch a mans motor......a genuine bloke would wait at the motor and front up to the bloke when he returned. I can't believe I'm reading on here threats to torch another dog lads motor !!! Cheers.3 points

Not a black dog man...but if it's one thing I know, there's plenty unknown and uncredited men out there with lines as good as any, that avoid the lime light without whom terrier strains of all colors would not exist today and long may they last..3 points

Just an update. Moocher71 sent me the picture, not only that he also packed another picture by Mick Cawston “ the one that got away . He said all he wanted was postage , but when I pressed him for details of how I could pay him , he said don’t worry it’s nice to do something for someone. I’ve got to say that his generosity has touched me . If he won’t take anything for the pictures I am going to make a donation to the Johnny boy charity on the general section, it seems a worthy cause . I get a lot out of this forum , there are some good souls on here and reading about Johnny boy , he seemed t3 points

Should of kept it , it’ll be a museum piece. If you had told me back then , that you would have a torch that would fit in your pocket and weigh literally nothing, but could throw a 800 meter beam , I doubt I’d of have believed it . Makes you think what next ? I’m waiting for heat seeking bullets , so that you never miss. I think I will give up then.2 points
