  1. I sure I wrote this before about a remmberence Sunday but about three years ago I was asked to lay a wreath in a tiny minuscule Suffolk village close to work as we were allocated local churches to attend in lieu of a larger scale contingent . the village I was asked to go to was tiny , literally a row of houses , a shop and a church. on the memorial it became very apparent that the lads who were killed in world war 2 were the unborn infants , the nephews , the sons of those killed in world war 1 there was around 30 names for each war on the memorial . One little tiny post sta

  7. Norm, don't see many, but found this in the grass while mooching on my 1st dog walk. Norm owls and foxes take them. But I've read when there left like this, it could have been a cat, because they release a gland, that gives vile smell to cats and dogs? Seen couple 1/2grown foxes up the track playing yesterday about 8.30pm, had Buck on the lead good job lol. Was bloke and woman and 2 kids coming down not far from the track, this time of the year you bump into lots walkers and dog walkers, best not to upset them, don't need the crap they give you.!!

  11. Hi Huckleberry,...I am pleased to hear that you are enjoying your rat hunting forays? I used to do a lot of ratting with terriers, collies, whippets, etc , indeed, at one time in my life, I would far rather hunt rats than rabbits Mercifully I grew out of it, and followed a different path.. ? Your idea of trying to find, a tiny terrier seems sensible for the task that you might need it for,..however, unless your rat hunting is exclusively amongst piles of pallets or under wooden flooring, you might find that purchasing a tweenie tyke, you could end up carrying a passenger in you

  21. I spent £4,500 on a bitch with a leg injury and gave her loads of extra recovery and build up time and the first time she was off the lead the leg went again. I went through the idea of having the leg removed and was told by Noel Fitzpatrick (the super vet ) that an otherwise fit and healthy running dog with three legs is literarily on borrowed time unless it’s kept in a lead permanently due to the immense force it will be putting on the opposite leg from the removed one which will result in a catastrophic injury to that leg. what sort of miserable life is that for a running dog. you did th

  22. and for now can we please go on about the original post and quite the crap. or at least don't make negative/ calling name like assumptions. i think that is not the reason for a forum like this. the questioning and asking why or how is fine by me by the way. in my opinion a forum is a way of gathering and sharing information. and yes you will find people there who have a different way of doing things. to me that is why such a forum is of interest people with other knowledge than me. i don't care much about who has caught the most of rats in their lifetime. to me it matters if i might learn s

  23. A interesting overview sir ,and I would have to agree, the first 3 inches coupled to speedy or physically gifted dog is one that gets the job done ,no matter where that might be .A dog that's knocked up all the time ,while breath taking to watch, quickly becomes a liability ,due to huge amounts of time spent out of action .As the saying goes "time is money" and since I also make my living off ,the backs of my dogs ,I need them out in the field for me to do so ,anything less doesn't work for me ,nor does huge vet bills . .

  27. Now then bonney lad, I have been to pick up some rifles for you to have a play with on Saturday. Form the left, a BSA Airsporter, then 3 x HW35 and then a weird green machine better known as a Baikal which is a freebie for full strip down and refurbish. The rifle second from the right has one of my scopes on and I confess I like this one myself so it might get removed from the group.....................Hmmmmmm I look forward to meeting you on Saturday mate and I will see what else I can find to take the p1ss in future posts ??? 32. The lads dog had to be pts and he’s gutted...... and I’m the only one who thinks “ffs things happen, move on” is perhaps not the greatest thing to say. Clearly an out of order snow flake ? Back to the OP. I lost one last season mate and blamed myself in a lot of ways, and you’ll never forget the dog, you just need to learn from the Experiance and try to focus on the good times you had with her, and out the time into the other dogs to keep your mind off it mate. It’s sucks and there isn’t any way around that.

  34. Firstly …. How dare you. I am a Welshman not an Engli ……. I can’t bring myself to say it. what I mean is for a pup to be small enough at 9-12 weeks of age to run around under a pallet it would be way to small and weak to kill rats.

  35. A big difference it seems in people's ideal rabbit dog if it's day in day out pest control and the sporting hunters where the speedsters are more appreciated and watching the runs is what it's all about.

  36. The denning Russells I had were trying to bite through the live catch cage of rats at 8 weeks but I didn't let them loose with them at that age, more worried about the pups getting badly bitten. Don't know if they had the jaw strength at that age but used to mess my hands up playing, lol. 4 weeks old in pic.

The first white footballer who doesn't take the knee is going to need some strength of character ,it's not right and it's not just but he is going to have to defend himself against the might of a lopsided media with an agenda that will use every dirty trick in the journalists book ,his social media history will have to be snowy white ,,he will have to be articulate and able to convey his reasons without falling into any traps that will be set for him ,he will risk losing bucketfuls of money through sponsors ,he will risk alienating teammates ,he will be an irresistible target for every virtue
