  1. One of the lads that works for me has been asked by the farmer he rents his cottage from to make use of a wood and lake that he has that is going to waste. So we have been down getting it sorted and ready to use. I will probably spend more time down there than in my house. Lake has got some real nice carp in it and there’s a chalk stream that runs along the back of the lake. Apart from running water it’s got everything you need. A place for eating a place for a fire pit a pizza oven and a compost toilet.

  2. Took the day off, been non stop lately.. Got out on the water with my lad, my brother and niece plus her boyfriend .. Loads of mackerel, few pilchard and a Gurnard.... drooped a big cuttle fish as well that took a pilchard live bait... Sun was up, the paddle out of the otter out of Budleigh was cracking... Then barbie time, fresh fish...can't beat it... promised myself I'm gonna take a few more days off, especially when the sun is up!!

  3. The comps been nothing but a good thing from day 1 mate, the biggest fish cup was named after Craigyboy and now the comp will always be in memory of John. As a few lads have said there was no one like him for raising money on the auction, absolute worthless tat would be sold for 50 quid cause he'd get you all at it... my friends who own the fishery told some of their family to come down on the last night just to watch John perform.. ?.. its like he stored a whole year of piss taking for that one stint, everyone copped some...brilliant... That pic of him with the wooden spoon, I made

  31. Sorry Kenny ...it's an account of the relationship between the WW1 soldier and nature ,he uses diaries and letters home ,it's like a homage to how the average British man was so deeply entrenched in his with his love and belonging to a long gone countryside ,it's a beautifully written ,lyrical and poetic arousing of your emotions ,you will feel pride ,nostalgia and recognition of your own relationship with what pastoral beauty these isles have left . I strongly recommend this book ,intact anything by this author ,

  33. Yep. I’ve recently been laid off and the weather has come right so I’ve took it as a sign from the gods. Bit of light spinning off Portland, maybe have a dive elsewhere and might have a look out for a roe buck but otherwise I intend to lay about the coast pretending I’m retired, lol.

  34. Penn senator 114 It has about 800 yards of 100 lb braided line.Line capacity is important when land based shark fishing.Sometimes I will kayak a bait 400 yards from shore. You still need enough line to fight him. With that said I have never hooked a really big shark.Technically my reel is too small to big shark fish but it has worked for me. We landed six on this trip over three nights of fishing.None of them was quite as big as the one I already posted.

  36. If I wanted one of these pups, I'd pay £500 in a heartbeat ! But it's come to something that we now think £500 is a decent price for a lurcher pup.......I suppose it is when compared to the £1,000's people are paying for crossbreed potlickers like cockerpoos and such. These coursing dogs have allways sold at a premium, way above "normal" lurcher prices, and lads have been willing to pay. I don't begrudge what anyone gets for pups, it seems to be a sellers market, but I'm glad there's still people in our game breeding for the sport, not the money. Cheers.

  42. It shouldn't make a big difference but the reason i liked buying a 500 brick of 22 ammo was it was all the same batch and it shouldn't affect the zero but buying 50 or 100 at a time they could be all different batches and affect the zero slightly

  45. by the way my ferrets dieet is mostly self caught brown rats i got a 160liter freezer full of them i got about 25 adult ferrets that eat rats as their main food source and also many litters of ferret pups. and the freezer stays as good as full. maybe the eating of rats helps them to be resistant to the rats diseases. but as far as i know wild pole cats are also great rat hunters and rats are also a big part of their dieet and they also seem to hande both the rats and the diseases well
