  1. Back in the 80s I would have sold that lot by lunch, do zoo,s and wildlife parks not still buy them ? can remember my escort mk2 ex AA van driving home many a night full up to the roof with anything from deer to trout never took long to sell any of it, trout used to bump out at a £1 each round the pubs and on a few occasions have had to give plod a bit of game when pulled over, more likely to have farmers or keepers smashing up your motor than get nicked back then, I also used to go on the train with my dogs and my catch,s this is me walking out with my pack probably 40ish years ago a £25 fox

  3. I jumped out of bed at 3am to get ready to go explore a swamp I'm only allowed to hunt in Sept.Because of this there is a bunch of yearling coons there.Perfect for a pup to start the season.I released my older crossbred bitch an hour before daylight. She entered an immediately I smelled a skunk. In Dixie we call them polecats.Skunk spray will kill a terrier unless you can get oxygen to them.I got her out quickly but I became covered in the spray.Imagine pepper spray and sewage. Its so strong you can taste it. After a short break I released the young male posted above. He is so small I have be

  6. Out last night for a look on part of the chicken farm I rarely go as it’s near houses .Farmer had spoke to a few of the houses directly backing onto these fields and been met with happy faces he says as they keep a few fowl themselves .Bit of a breeze so on with the thermal and wow ,three mooching about same field and all upwind away from the houses ..Shot the first then used the thermal to see if next shot was on and it was .Shot the third in this manner too .All vixens .Had a squeak at this point and a larger dog fox came into the field scenting the exact trail the last vixen had taken .He

  7. Going buy an old 22 to do up he said! Only going buy 200 rounds he said! 600 rounds later, A-tec wave mod and a new cz 457 my wallet goes into meltdown!! What a nice little rifle though. Trigger is adjustable for weight, overtravel and sear engagement. 60°bolt. Whacking good pin strike and very accurate. Shoots CCI, Federal, Eley and Winchester to similar zero. HV ammunition just shoots a little higher. A well made solid rifle, just what one can expect from CZ. The pigeon were taken with shorts by S&B. The squirrel by the way was carrying an airgun

  10. Bit of a change in the temperature this morning, the birds were waiting for their grub in the dark ? . Driving back to the yard over the causeway was like being in a sauna, the mist/steam coming off the reservoirs was a reminder of how warm it’s been and how cold it got overnight. Autumn is on its way !!!

  20. This the same swamp.Us rednecks renamed it Katchums 2 bollocks. Has a nice native American Indian ring to it ? All jokes aside it's a scary dark place digging alone.I installed a tracker on my cell phone so hopefully my wife can find me when something happens.I dont enjoy it matter of fact it scares the shit out of me but the terriers need digging. If I had good normal digging I would never step foot in those pits of hell ever again.

  21. It’s not just dogs and rabbits mate it’s life in 2020 there are adverts running on the radio encouraging people to grass up there neighbours if they have more than 6 people in, we are being turned into a self policing grass thy neighbour society, people would rather film there neighbours in difficulty than go out and help, i,m just an innocent old man that wanders around the countryside putting up cameras, 95% of people I meet welcome me on there land, even though I have a lurcher and terrier in tow and a catty and BBS in my pocket, I now park on peoples driveways and farmyards instead of in p

  24. If I had to choose my favourite time of year I don’t think I could , all the seasons have their charm . But if I had to it would be a frosty winters morning . I think it takes me back to the excitement I felt when I was a kid , ferreting , seeing my breath , hearing the thumping underground and waiting for a bolt . Magical!!!

  26. Never the dogs fault. I've kept Bull's half my life. Back in the day, I'd walk one of mine down the road like I was Tom Cruise, in Top Gun. Absolutely focused on every single aspect of what surrounded me. " Corner coming up on the right. Pass well to the left, in case someone comes round it with a dog. " " Pavement getting crowded, ahead. Check for people moving away from possible, incoming dog. Check behind; Anyone with a dog catching up? Cross the fukking road! " Never had a mishap. Simple responsibility for what I had there. 'Five year old Tenisha was shot dead by her si

  27. "belief "....simple....a person who is convinced of something without proof has belief rather than factual evidence......you have no factual evidence that God doesnt exist but you " believe " he doesnt anyway......no different to Greyman.....infact he probably has more evidence of his " belief " than you have of yours ! Ultimately people " believe " whatever they want... you are no different to anyone else mate.

  34. Some of you folk just don't understand a thing about firearms at all do you! It is NOT just metal fatigue. If old cartridges have been used there could of been a delayed burn. Or partial burn or sometimes what is called a flame out. The components of the cartridge get forced into the barrel then stop or very nearly stop. The components become in themselves an obstruction all in a nano second. Combustion starts again and a huge pressure is developed causing a failure. The ensuing failure of a component of the gun can not be predicted. In this case it was the lug. It is also possi
