Someone I know rang me last night saying he had cut some small paddocks and there was rabbits all over, now with a bit of scepticism ( if he’s seen 1 he’s seen a 100) I said I’d come up, so off I went with Hugo’s dad, needless to say seen 3 and shot 2 of them, another case of the farmers millions, we were not far from helicopter mans house so we went there, a lot more to be seen here, we gave it half an hour and shot 11 only picking up 4 and leaving the rest as my mate owns the fields around the house and they have just sprayed the oilseed rape off so a bit of pre baiting for when the combin7 points

Just popped up this farm again to look for more bunnies , on arrival farmers mate was in yard and told me to have a look on 2 fields of his along the road ? Just a quick walk around the edge and shot 8 , will come back on dusk. Permission seems to be looking for me at the minute , he has a farm further down the village with loads of rabbits but grass needs cutting first.5 points

Family down last week from Surrey... Caught enough in half an hour to put on the barbie..15 mackerel, then paddled in.. They dont get to do this, they are cod and chips through and through.... I get not everyone can understand the sea has more to offer than battered cod as location dictates.. was great to put something different on their plate.5 points

I had another "clear out" today. A clear out tending to be hours spent pulling things out of storage, getting rid of 0.1% and then just moving stuff about and storing in different places. Came across these that I had forgotten about. Some good articles and photographs. Did not last long though. Probably an ED-RD prototype.5 points

She's out of a black working greyhound put to Dave sleight's ped whippet brindle Sam, I've read on here about you asking about Dave's dogs, I don't know the man but I've seen some good dogs bred out of his stuff he knows what he's doing when it comes to breeding rabbit dogs and he's owned some good pure running stud dogs from what I've seen out of them too. The pups we've just picked up are 1/8 collie 1/8 beddy and 6/8 whippet greyhound we should have some fun with them on the grass land4 points

I’ve honestly never had a problem with anyone because of my hunting and shooting activities. I keep myself to myself. There is a chap up the road from me and you only have to look at his house and his beaten up discovery to know he is into shooting . He only ever wears realtree pattern clothing . BASC sticker in the windscreen. Pheasant feeders and drinkers in the front garden a weathervane with a man with a dog and gun . It’s almost like he is saying “ this is who I am , f@ck you if you don’t like it . I don’t know if he has any problems as I don’t talk to him if I can help it . But it takes4 points

Back in September of 2018 I bred a litter of pups from my lurcher Boots,he's basically a 5/8 Grey & 3/8 Saluki & a 5/8 Grey 3/8 Bull bitch called Roxy my son owns..last season was obviously their 1st working & to say it's been a rollercoaster of a ride with them would be an understatement, the dog pup Bear started away beautifully, taking everything in his stride no matter what I put in front of him,he's a big brute of a dog standing 28tts & weighing 43.19kg or 93lb in layman's terms, fantastic temperament on him, just a lovely dog to have around, sadly in December he broke his nec3 points

We are booked on at Lyme Regis tomorrow. Might cancel and get back up the motorway if people are saying its rough. No point waiting till dinner to hear its cancelled. Long wet day with hounds today. The most interesting bit seemed to be the field of peas he found, think he eat more than the jolly green giant3 points

Pollack, Whiting, spider crab, mackerel (well not now its trendy) loads of fish that are overlooked...for cod..(batter some Pollack and see if you can taste the difference...of course bass has been the other favourite for years, but gurnard or bream are just as good.. (better maybe)...dabs are lovely...even flounder, not as good as plaice I know but still tasty... The thing with this country is the majority only think of cod and chips, the French, Spanish, Portuguese etc make amazing dishes out of a variety of fish, fish stews or bouillabaisse, chowders, etc... Fish cakes for instanc3 points

Respect doesn't even begin to cover what I feel for your dedication to that dog. I've had dogs break their necks in the past and had them put down, partly because the vet said there was no hope of recovery, and partly because I've been too scared to try, and then fail despite my best efforts and partly because I can't stand seeing my dogs suffer. But sometimes it's a question of temperament too and he must have a fantastic temperament to have wanted to play even when he couldn't stand. You, sir, have just proved that recovery is possible even in the most hopeless of situations. Hats off3 points

Jacob is at Strokestown, he is investigating a thing where by you donate to the farm and in return you own a share of the harvest. I signed up for it and if he gets it up and going I’d be happy to do it, it’s a way small producers can expand and the donated gets something back too. Don’t know what the costs are or anything yet as it’s just at a research stage from what I can gather. Theres a bloke up your way called “Mad Yolk Farm” and he does box schemes and sells at farmers markets in Galway, he only serves local people and he is feeding about 70 customers off of half and acr2 points

Ahh, there is a definite shift happening over here, especially in the west where there a lot of smallholders / small farmers. There is a movement called “Food citizenship” and lots of small producers doing their own thing. Also the start of an open food network which is a platform for small producers and co-operatives to sell direct to the end user. There is an amazing business called Drumanilra close to me, they came over from England to inherit 40 acres.....they have 300 now and direct market everything, all organic. Lots and lots of English refugees and locals all living2 points

I'd get the vet to check it out but if it is an undescended testicle and you don't go for surgery, alas even if its capable, I wouldn't breed from it as its a hereditary condition.2 points

Too right, I live in Scarborough and we use to have a good fleet of fishing boats, me dad even had a cobble for the nets and pots when I was a kid! my best mates dad was a local trawler man and he fecked off to live and fish in Holland over 30 years ago because the industry was fcuked for us?2 points

the paten was building up nicely then the flight line changed so I set up in the foliage about 60yrd to the other side of the pattern to try and drive them through the middle of us but it was a non starter. I caught this tiny terrorist in the corner of my eye to the right about 40yrd away, they can fair move for little feckers.. saw one dragging a rabbit across a field last year, they have to be at the top for size to weight strength. so after deciding the crows weren't playing any more I went over to see me mate, I could hear his tummy rumbling and started laughing.. h2 points

I lived in Saudi for many years, and saw real punishments, in real time ! Heads chopped off for murder, rape, paedophilia, drug smuggling, and the quaint old offence of "poisoning a well" ! Hand chopped of for theft, hand AND foot for certain offences. Anything from caning to crucifiction depending on the crime. Prisons are absolute shitholes; 20, 30, 40 to a cell, if you want to eat, your family or friends have to bring you food or else it's just bread and water ! Just imagine the screaming outrage from the snowflake, woke, liberal left if these punishments were sugge2 points
