  1. Been reflecting back on my early days with working dogs, on my way home from school, I had to walk home from school, cos id spent my bus money on a woodbine and a match, on my way home, I took a short cut through an estate, there was this dogs muzzle under a back gate, I used to climb this gate, and there was a crackin dog that used to greet me, this went on fer yonks, im sure the bugger used to wait for me, so one day I knocked on the front door and asked if I could take him for a walk, you can keep him if you want, his name was bob, greyhound x whippet , what a worker he was, and a good pal

  14. Generally mate we give them a rating out of 10, and though a lot of its movement is very feline would say it’s still only around a 5/6 out of 10, I personally think pictures of this quality tend to leave more questions than answers and sadly the better footage tends to get squirrelled away, as has been mentioned before it’s the3 Cs that are needed, a clear image, a captured animal or a corpse, this is a still from a video I was given a couple of years ago, was told it is taken in Scotland but without anymore providence it’s as useless as a blurry image,

  15. Mate, don’t rise to it. He’s quite happy in ignorance. He’ll wax lyrical about the benefits of hare coursing for the hare, but fails to grasp the value of sport hunting as a conservation tool.

  17. Went for a walk earlier as it was the first dry night for a while and I thought it was a good time to try the calls Stavros sent me. Tried the pheasant distress in the first field for about 20 mins to no avail. So I carried on round the farm. Got to the fourth field and had a quick scan with the lamp and saw two pairs of eyes down the bottom of the field. Now there is no shot that way, so I put the caller on rabbit distress and placed it on a fence post. I had to stack 150 yards ish down the hedge line to get a safe shot. The pair of foxes were ignoring the call and having a moo

  18. ....and murk this afternoon looking for a rabbit for someone at work. Ha, missed the first one at 40! Then one at 50!! I checked zero and all was well. I just must of been skimming their head tops! Eventually I get a 30yarder. But although a good weight he was not perfect so I needed to find another. I found my next one in brambles, just down the bank behind me. That black eye stands out at 7yards and what a perfect buck rabbit! I then visited a wood and did some squealing for 40 minutes but nothing but squirrels and rabbits came to check me out. Wh

  19. So after the disappointment of loosing my lurcher recently after he was showing so much promise here is the one to hopefully fill his boots next season . Got him for my lad a few weeks back with the idea of getting him going for my lad alongside my dog next season , but all the best laid plans etc Anyway thank goodness we got him as my lad is besotted with him and I think its helping him get over my one , plus he is starting to ask all the right questions about getting him going etc His dam is a whippet / bull x grey and sire is a line bred bull grey , both well proven local do

  20. Had a morning down south today, we had a lad over from Holland this week who sorts us digging. Had him out last night lamping as apparently your not allowed a lurcher over there? Ferreting with nets and the little saluki whippet bitch of my mates as my bitch is in season? Stopped for food at 10 o'clock then bolting to the guns.... Would of stayed longer and shot some ducks but unfortunately had a call from the wife, someone had broken into my works van for the second time since last Saturday ? Ended on 14 healthy rabbits, 1 hare, 1 partridge and cock and hen pheasant ? Few

  21. Had a white Zimbabwean working for me a few years back mate, he ran big game hunting before he left Zimbabwe, some unbelievable pics!! He told me they would hunt maybe a dozen elephants a year these were pre selected, he knew exactly what they would shoot before the party even arrived, he said they maybe saw 50 or more elephants a day whilst searching for their target, these were illegal to shoot...so it is no different to culling deer on an estate, the animals chosen are selected to enhance the herd. Same with all of the big game animals, it's very controlled, not just drive into th

  23. YES! THEY ARE A BAP SPECIES IN DECLINE ACROSS THE UK! Doesn't matter why. If hunting in Africa is wrong then so is you coursing hares. Give up, take up knitting and f**k off to a forum full of other old women like yourself.

  24. You have to question the accuracy of a survey carried out in the 1800s mate.. not saying all large wildlife is not on the decline..it obviously is...but the biggest reason is overpopulation and habitat destruction, controlled big game hunting would have a positive impact in those areas as the money would ensure habitat preservation.... personally it wouldn't be my thing, would love to run a gazelle with a dog but wouldn't interest me at all shooting an elephant...I wouldn't call those out that do participate though, it would feel very hypocritical to me...

  25. They have been having a right old time of it Gav, those days are over now, you can really see the damage to the trees, I’ve never seen this amount up here, forestry used to trap them but they don’t seem to bother now, we will definitely be having a squirrel day once the season has finished and until then I’ll be making a conscious effort to shoot every one I see to top it off I got home and this little beggar was hiding his nuts in my garden, this is what you get when the missus feeds them

  26. Feeding up this morning and there’s still a blanket of low cloud, the birds have made there way back into the main drives and those that survived the barrage of shots yesterday are back on the feeders and seem none the worse for there experience, perhaps a little on edge and not wanting to hang around for a photo opportunity but who can blame them, with the next time we shoot been half way through our season we are now concentrating on feeding the long drives with the heavy cover that hold the majority of the birds, all we can hope for now it cold weather and a clear day next time out, but loo

  30. Or even just look for a pugmark, even a grainy video has much more clout if you can find a footprint to support your claim, these were taken by a member on here after seeing a cat at night he went back in the morning and took these, makes it harder to say he,s wrong ?

  31. Sigh! If the animal was as clearly distinguishable as you think it is there would be no need for debate on here. As I said before,it is easier to discount what it isn't and it clearly isn't a predator from the sheep's reactions. There are two sheep happily grazing just yards from it. It also looks to be grey and doesn't seem to be feline in its movement in my opinion. But, if you want to believe that a grey smudge is a lynx, then go ahead. Believe all you want. For all I know it could be Rudolph videoed by Santa as a prank.

  32. What I mean is mate England could do with your lack of spades and more respectful, old fashioned way of behaving towards each other. It could do with your willingness to stand up to government and officials and stand up for your communities. it could do with your love of your own culture and traditions and willingness to preserve them. Ireland could do with England’s industrious attitude and willingness to do things. You wouldnt see the derelict villages in England, especially ones that have the potential to be as beautiful as the ones in Ireland.....they would be bustling

  33. I nip in most I see when I walk past them mate.....never really found much but have come across a few records that might be worth a few quid.....thing is now the charity shops are selling all the good stuff online and trying to get rid of the shit in the shops lol can’t blame them of course but it is making going there to look for stuff to sell on a waste of time. Same with cash generator type shops......they are a business themselves so will just sit on stuff untill it sells. The best thing to do in this day and age is make a Facebook page for you business or a website. Just a simple ho

If speaking out against this government, and the the way the country is, and run make you a racist and bigot, then I'm a proud white irish racist and bigot who wants it government to put its people and its country frist.
