  3. I spent a long time reading and researching different mixes and breeds. Spoke to a few on here over PM about theirs to get some more info. 99% of what I plan on doing will be bunnies either ferreting or lamping/mooching so was looking whippet and beddy whip but then I fancied summat that could have a go at the other 1%. Spoke to a few different lads with litters but got things from 'be ready at 5-6wks' or even as far as 'mother isn't here anymore' so didn't bother looking. Then a chap on here put me onto em. He had grandsire and also the mother's sibling I think. Right mix for

  7. In my younger days when you used to pitch the bales up with a eval (pitch fork) you would be in the fields to gone 11pm if the rain was coming in. These muppets that move in and kick off about the smell and the noise wan't to feck off back where they came from if they don't like it. The same twats that sign the petitions that get hunting banned and try to stop shooting and country pursuits, but think they have the right without permission to wander across fields leaving gate open or letting their dog chase stock. They have no idea how the countryside works. Cheers Arry

  8. She was going to be a big one going by her paws. She came in to my impression of a squeaking mouse. Only a forty yard shot. I saw another. An old friend. It lets me light it up once and then it's gone. I shot this one about a mile from home and just as I got in bed a fox howled on the back field! A definite two finger salute to me I don't doubt one bit! Shot with the federal 50grn. I am going off them....they don't expand on these small varmints. Oh they kill them eventually but not as quick as hornady and other lighter loadings. They work for sure put in the ri

  11. Cheers fella Was talking to the lad and he said someone who was due to view rang him at last minute and said they had found summat closer. One of the main traits in a lurcher that, locality! Bonkers!!! Way I see it it's only a day and then a decade and some of service and fun hopefully. Looking forward to it!

  15. Cheers mate, he's never gonna be a Derby winner but doing really well considering. Great character and nature, good company for mooching. No fool in the intelligence stakes either which surprised me for a sighthound. Roll on September.

  22. Yes mate he's got a cracking nose . He's 19 months old and should have had a full season behind him but was hit by a land rover at 8 months, set him back a long way. Started with the ferrets in November and picked it up really quick, marking and following the action, anticipating the bolt well. Had the left femural head removed and the right hip joint pinned. Amazing how he's recovered, loads of hydrotherapy has built muscle up and he's ready for the coming season.

  25. Got a few fine days forecast , rain coming Wednesday/Thursday maybe. The cover crops could do with a soaking , they are looking dry now . I always find it a bit nerve wracking putting the birds to wood , is there something nasty in the pen we missed when we ran the mutts through ? Am I going to have cubs spooking them over the fence and nabbing them ? Are Buzzards going to play havoc with them ? Is the weather going to change for the worse ? You name it , I worry about it ! ? But I wouldn’t want to do anything else , I must be mad !?

There was seriously only a genuine hand full of these in the country at this time. What a hunter! No training required. All natural. Me and my school mate used to love setting him off into big 50 acre fields of winter wheat to find a seated hare.. wich he surl

  28. I’m sure he was rude and ignorant and horrible to women and all of those things .. but he didn’t give a f@ck what anyone thought of him !!! He was his own person and a character, and I admire that . Too few English eccentrics around now . The media is now run by politically correct Homosexuals, and he didn’t fit in to what they wanted us to watch ... sad .

I lived near chard for a while and used to fish the river Axe down in the tidal zone where the old railway/tram lines runs alongside on the other bank, there's boulders in the river and you can find peelers under them and i used to catch a few bass and plenty of good sized eels there. As it goes one eel i caught on a few left over rag worm i had was fat with peelers and i gutted it out and used what was in it's belly to catch another 3 eels ..

  33. I’ve worked my whippet in the snow whilst it was blowing a gale snow literally being blown in your face (I am clearly not very bright ?) and I gave up a lot quicker than him! He had the raging hump when I packed up and left and didn’t want to leave a Warren he was marking! Never seen him give up due to conditions, shivering wreck couldn’t be further from the truth in my experience.

  38. We had the first birds arrive on Tuesday, I didn’t take any photos or do a write up . But I took some today . The birds I got today are 6 weeks old they are common ring necks from overwintered hens . They all look good so far and well feathered . It’s been quiet around the first pen so far , but I don’t like to speak too soon . I’m on watch tonight as I’m sure there is a fox about , by this pen . The first birds I put to wood have settled in well and they have spread out well with no bunching up on the wire and a lot are getting up to roost on low branches. I get my birds clipped, I think it

  42. "my child's allergic to all bees and wasp stings" Me: That's highly unlikely, the stings are different and it's rare to be allergic to both. "she's highly allergic and the doctor says she might die" Me: You don't even have a nest they are just feeding on that bush. "my child can't play in the garden" Me: Because bees are feeding happily on a bush? "LOOK CAN YOU DO SOMETHING OR NOT??????" Me: F*ck off "what" Me: sorry what?
