I no there,s a fishing thread but many don't go there or care so I,ll put my little piece here for all to see, especially those who may be a bit new here and a bit apprehensive about meeting a load of strangers in the middle of no were, i certainly never had any intentions of going but after one or two people i,ve met asked me to attend I bit the bullet and threw my hat in the ring, I thought I was going fishing for 4 days and never had a clue what I was entering I was Ill prepared having just thrown my fishing gear in the van and heading for Devon with DC who I'd met once before, everyone I6 points

If you're running them that hard that a good diet isnt enough youre either not feeding as good as you think you are or you're giving the dog more work than its capable of taking.Either way that stuff you put the picture up of aint gunna make any difference.5 points

Even if you are running in comps you still dont need all that stuff. You can cause dogs to run hot and do all sorts of problems overdoing it with extra vitamins and minerals. If you feed good quality meat, veg, fat and a source of carbs everything you need is there.5 points

No need for all the powders and potions if you feed a good mixed balanced diet5 points

As some of you know I am Secretary of a small friendly Fullbore Club at Bisley and our members have had some success. We already have one member who has shot for Team GB for several years and enjoyed good results in the European and World Championships. Following his session at 1000 yards over the weekend, we now have a second member who has just been invited to train with Team GB over the winter. This is excellent news all round but particularly when I tell you he is just 10 years old! He first shot with my club 2 years ago at the age of 8, we had to get special permission and the NRA5 points

Just donated Kev. Great to meet everyone and as said, a cracking venue. Shame I could only make it for one night. Thanks to all who made the weekend happen. Geth.5 points

Why would I lend my catty to someone just for them to shoot my saggy old plums?????. On a serious note go and tell him, gage his reaction and if necessary plan your next move if he apologises case closed ?4 points

Watched the program about obsolete guns last night and how the young , mainly black gangs are shooting one another at a rate of knots , thankfully the BBC got to the bottom of the problem and found the root cause of the violence, it is by all accounts down to MIDDLE AGED WHITE MEN , the barstards , I had a feeling they were mixed up in it , I’ve also got the feeling ,as yet unproved , that white middle aged women are a major player ..I’ve seen a few dodgy lookers lining up in the post office , one old bird had a folding 4.10 , tried to pass it off as a walking stick but I had her well suss4 points

I don’t think it will too much interest in that part of the world from larger type parties. Be funny to see some of the reaction though, a lot of those Afrikaan farmers are serious types ,ex rli, RSAS, parabats etc who I imagine wouldn’t roll over meekly. I f***ing love Africa , the greatest continent on earth.....4 points

I really think that someone should set up an Independent Working Dog Vet Comparison site. It'd have to be well thought out so it makes valid and fair comparisons and presents the info clearly if enough of the fieldsports community are to use it so as to make it worthwhile but I think it'd really benefit us all. It'd force market competition and direct us, as customers, to the more sympathetic and understanding vets. Equally vets that want to tap into the fieldsports community as a market would be able to tailor their services to our requirements. At the very least 'we' want to know which3 points

That's right over 90% of blacks in south Africa are immigrants it was a very sparsely inhabited place before the white man turned up . Not much has changed3 points

Wales is distinctly different and (to my mind) better than very many parts of the UK. I am not concerned about anything that happened in the period 1100 - 1400ad. Its easy to understand the Welsh indifference to the English. The Saxons stole England from the native 'Celts' before 800 AD, the Danes (Vikings) tried to steal it from the English after that and the Normans stuck their oar in in 1100 (ish). I admire the Welsh for retaining their culture - other than in rural England our culture doesnt exist - the Welsh are better at that certainly. Croeso I Cymru3 points

Didn't take many pics..but here's couple Saturday on the river...the mullet drove the lads mental, when you can see thousands of fish but can't hook 1 it can get a bit frustrating lol! Managed to catch a fair few dace and roach on the stick float everyone caught few fish... and I had my shadow, tin ribs, with me for the day... the coin toss raised a good few quid as always..3 points

Great write up greyman.. about summed it up... I chucked a post on the main thread but... the comp has ran for 6 years now and we've raised around 15k, it's an effort for everyone, whether you're organising it, getting there, contributing, cooking, cleaning, supplying beers or food, helping others to fish.. the whole thing is a success ever year because everyone makes the effort... There's some shit written on here from time to time, but over the past 6 years I've met genuine mates off here, and this year is no different... greyman and Walt are lads I'm looking forward to having a be3 points

Well lads another great weekend.. Good company, good fishing and the food as always was top notch..Dan is the Man.. Luccombes was a great place to host it, Dave and Graham (father and son who run it) have said they will attend next year where ever we host it, they loved the weekend and to be honest couldn't do anymore for us... I know a few lads are booking at the venue next year for a holiday, which is great.. The 2 new lads, Greyman and Walt were great company, thanks a lot lads for making the effort, hopefully a few more new faces next year and a few of the old faces who co3 points

Thanks for the input fellas. This topic has certainly raised a debate on FFP or variable mag. To me I think it’s just personal preference. For me I think it’s stick to what you know and like, so it’s a variable mag. I think x24 will be to much and will only use this on my 308. For the 17 it’s going to be a x16 or x18 mag. Been great reading all your input and reasons why one is better than the other. Happy hunting fellas what ever scope you use?2 points
-
For what it’s worth I’d go 4 x 16, if you buy a quality scope you won’t have any bother loosing zero on mag, have a look at vortex optics, for me fixed mag are for on a range, the variable works better for me in the field as when you are pushing that shot out to a good distance you want to see a bit more of what you are shooting2 points

" The latest spate of gun violence comes amid calls for a crackdown on antique firearms flooding Britain's streets. " I've never seen a blunderbuss used in a drive-by shooting. I wonder how Piers Morgan will handle this one?2 points

My Lurcher bitch needed an emergency c section few yrs back, i was at work so mrs rang the vets.... Quoted her £600 on the phone, she was in a panic, took the bitch there for the procedure..... June 2017 - Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan inteview Tommy Tommy: Disbury mosque is anti western, encourages segregation, The imam was fighting Jihad in Libya, incites murder against non muslims. It needs to be shut down! Piers: Have some damn respect on that holy book you bigoted lunitic! You Islamophobe. Aug 2018 - Over 13 months later the BBC and multiple newspapers 'expose' that very same mosque for calling for armed Jihad against us. Basically printing exactly what Tommy told ITV over a year ago. Moral of the story: The media are clueless virtue signalling morons and Tommy is2 points
