  1. I'd personally not leave a young child un supervised with any dog...... You may have a dog you trust with your life...... but kids can be spiteful little fuckers, pulling and jumping on the dog.... Always best to have an exit and somewhere for the dog out of the way imo. To late when a dog scars you child for life.......

  3. If I would have seen them doing that, I would've fuucked them up and to hell with the consequences! Bullying a vulnerable person for kicks? The parents should be ashamed of themselves and their shitty offspring not griping about their birthday! Just shows, the parents are the reason shits like this exist.

  4. I have about half a dozen young robins in the garden, can only get a photo of one at a time as they seem to hate each other, their right under my feet when up the garden no fear of humans yet. A load of young Blue Tits and young Black Birds. Seems a lot of late broods this year. Cheers Arry

Think the old saying "Live by the sword die by the sword" comes to mind. Should be tarred and feathered tied to a lamp post with a sign around their neck. Cheers Arry

  8. yeh i know lots of people have young kids with lurchers / terriers, and never have any probs, i did my self my lad who 31 been round lurchers all his life , he brings his 1 year old daughter round to see me , and my dogs have seen licked her feet etc both are great with kids . but what i was trying to say, not everybody is sensible with kids and pups , like this lad who selling his pup , any pup can hurt a 1 year old child , when its boisterous , so you keep a eye on it and intervene when need be . i only gave a age thing above as that life be easier all round for everybody , but youn

  10. It's probably because the lads that keep it right usually only breed the odd litter when really necessary and the pups would all be spoken for long before they were born. In fact, It's quite refreshing that Rob hasn't been offered pups for sale on here, it shows that there's not many of the dog dealer types coming onto here anymore. Nothing against you Rob, hopefully you find what you're after.?

  11. Look lads it's the internet and half of what's said on here is bollox and a wind up ... there are guys that slate Salukis guys that slate bull crosses ... my job was to slate whippets ? I have owned whippet crosses in the past but for the last ten years or so they didn't suite my terrain and I needed bigger stronger dogs ( horses for courses ) ... as kev has said the majority of my work is rabbit catching so no need for big powerful dogs also and most importantly most of my contracts have a decent head of deer on their land and whilst you can take every precaution accidents Will and do

  17. If you go back to times when most people were born, lived and died in a small area of the country, terriers became a type mainly because of a limited access to different blood stock. I doubt they cared much if the dog looked a certain way, they wanted the best worker. I believe it came much later where people obsessed with purity of blood and breeding with dogs that held a pedigree that went back for so many generations. I personally feel that if a dog looks like a Bedlington, and behaves like a Bedlington, then it’s a Bedlington and it’s probably better for the fresh blood..

  19. When the shit hits the fan. Tuesday evening 8.30pm My lurcher bitch seems a shade off colour, heat maybe. I'll have to keep an eye on her I thought. I noticed she'd been sick, so off I went to have a look to see what she had brought up. f**k me dog, what you been eating this time, sticks, brittle bones, plastic, you know what they're like, lurchers will eat anything, or at least mine does. I noticed a bit of blood in what she had brought up, not a big deal with this dog, she's always eating strange crap, so chucking up a bit of stick or bone an scratching her throat on the

  23. Love watching the old dog go. His a lot of fun. We passed a gateway and quite a lot of rabbit sign so I though mmm nice thick hedge running down there is a good chance of a bunny heading across this gape. I had a stop net in me bag but no pegs so I had to improvise The dog was disgusted by me effort and I could see him thinking Phil Lloyd come and get me ffs So off we went down the hedge enjoying the time. Sure enough it kicked off. The rabbit came running up inside the hedge with dog in tow. Then broke out in front of the dog. They started headed towards me well

  25. spot on that the difference is tremendous, but any one who watched the waterloo cup must realise that a good lot of that speed is not needed, all that does is blow the dog up, I recon that a good fast type coursing dog offers far more to lurcher breeding than the greyhound ever could, there fast, durable, agile, coursing clever, great recovery, and have stamina to spare , add a base breed and you have a recipe for success, all a greyhound has is pace.

  26. I always wanted to spend a bit of time living in Barcelona, one day I was head hunted for a position, so I took it. Now my eldest lives with me, speaks 3 languages, she sees a better life here than she did surrounded by pervert Pakis in that lovely shit hole that is Bradford. Tbh I stay because I earn good, enjoy my position. I have sun, sea and mountains, all within an hour and generally a good lifestyle. It's only the last 2-3 years that it's started to go downhill and it's all to do with this socialist mayor.

  27. I have always maintained there is no such animal as a pure bedlington the same can be said of most terrier groups some people seem to think it has to have a silly haircut and tassles on it ears to be a bedlington but nothings further from the true at the end of the day its whats in the dog not what it looks like , you can put ribbons in its fur but if the dog has the minerals it will still work be it go to ground or muller rats

  29. All to do with closed gene pools and an elitist attitude. The Kennel Club seemed like a good and well intentioned idea at the time I'm sure it but was flawed. The people involved refused to acknowledge this, ignored the deterioration in type of the dogs over the years that they wanted to preserve once they closed the gene pool. Not a problem with some types, Greyhounds or Foxhounds for example, but they were established prior to this. And they are not KC registered apart from some unfortunate examples. The terrier "breeds" suffered most. But only the KC ones, bred within the confines of a c

After crossing a fence and getting all hooked up in the wire, I had just got myself free when a fox, another vixen cub come walking out of sheep straight to me! That is on ground I have total freedom on and any fox gone from there means more game for me in winter. At the chicken units and after negotiating the fencing like a super Mario character I managed to get o

Took a trip out to Fred’s today, while we were doing one of the burrows Fred called past and asked if I would take a look at one of his neighbours property’s that was having an issue with the rabbits eating his young Lucerne paddock, so I took his number and met up with him, and his next door neighbours from those meetings we picked up all of the adjoining property’s too, we did a couple of burrows as well and managed to get a few rabbits, the dogs and ferrets worked well, and it was another very enjoyable day out in the field again, only been living in this area a month and already have enoug

  36. That's my point I suppose, there seems to be a bit of a quarrel going on between different Bedlington owners on here about who's are the best etc etc when really it seems no one has a Pure one and they're basically all Fell types that looks like Bedlingtons? So why is there such controversy and bitchiness between each other?

  41. You would be surprised what they can handle if you get them use to it mate. The trouble is over there; your dogs don’t get the opportunity to acclimatise. We do run them in summer, but when it gets past 25 Celsius I stop, even the whippets seem to handle it up until that point.
