" and kept up to forty in pens " ?? ,.......i will say one thing though, whether its acceptable or not ?,.....the countryman & his dogs helping the landowner, (at one time ?) with a 'badger problem', is one thing ,......but the hypocrisy of the governments & the legislation, thats in place nowadays....which basically affords the badger 'over - protected' status (in my opinion) caused alot of the (alleged) problems now,.....with their over population, certainly in some spots (on the mainland, at least ?),.......BUT,...dare a (genuine) countryman, with his traps, dogs, snares, et

The red n white one is 17 months old this being his first season and is an absolute pleasure to own. He will work all day and night and will do any job asked of him. He is the best all round dog iv owned and would have another in a flash.

  8. Had another very enjoyable day out with the dogs, and ferrets What’s new right? ? I hadn’t been to this property for a few months; last time I was here, there were a lot of kits, so I left them until now. It was a reasonably successful day, and good to see a few fox’s about, don’t normally see many in the day time here, will be spotlighting here over the next month that’s for sure. Next few days here will be over 35 degrees Celsius, at least the dogs will get a well earned rest to freshen them up, they are feeling the pinch a bit, after a heavy couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy the vi

  9. Well lads, I`ve kept quiet for a good few months over this as the sympathy off you Twats is fecking legendary X. Both of my bottom row wisdom teeth either side of my mouth had to be removed and yesterday morning, they were removed . I`ve not picked my shotgun up in what seems like a couple of years I was knitting a jumper with my toes when they started the procedure. Well the dentist numbed the feck out of me gob ( four large injections per tooth ) and proceeded to extract the biggest, m

  15. Good afternoon ladies and gents. Thought Id introduce myself first. Im a 44 year old shooting addict from holland. I started off as a 10 meter standing shooter (fwb 300s) and transited later on to 3 position rimfire with my Anschűtz .22. I later on was an instructor at the range teaching kids the 10 meter basics and helping upcoming hunters with their shooting before they had to do their test. This was no real job, didnt ask money for it, just enjoyd it. Now years later, me and my wife enjoy shooting our airguns at home and at the range. I also do some pestcontrol at local farms. We

  16. Evening all. Time for another write up. Got told by Rabid the other day that he is at all out war with the rats after losing a chicken to them. After my failed attempt last Friday I had to try and prove I actually knew what a rat was and that I knew how to shoot him them. I finished work at 6 and then shot home to get changed and grab my kit. I got to the farm about half 6. We sorted the rifles and Rabid kindly leant me his Pulsar NV again. The plan of attack was for me to set up in the barn and try and get some from there and Rabid was to go over to the Pen on the other sid

To be fair it was turned into a shithole long before Khan come on the scene , he’s just carried on with the job in true labour style ..having ventured back recently to my old stomping grounds in the east end after many years away it was mind numbing , the whole place is swamped with a tide of immigration that has dragged the east end to a depth of depression the likes of which I’ve never seen ...shithole ...it’s way way below that ...

  22. Always said it, terrierwork is the only fieldsport apart from live trapping (where an animal might be 12 or 24 hours caught) where the hunter can assess the animals condition and decide whether to release or cull or as they did in the old days relocate.

One of my regrets in life was never taking any pictures through my army career and ones I did I lost during a house move ... when I was in Kosovo we were waiting to go out on an op from the yank base camp greysteel and I had a shitty throw away camera ... we were on the heli pad that was covered in snow and two apaches came in hot side by side and a grabbed a quick picture ... it was brilliant two apaches a few feet off the ground with all the snow from the downdradt floating around them ... gutted I lost that picture .......

  31. Our annual trip up the west coast was a productive affair this year. We were informed that woodcock were in short supply this year and we should show restraint.........well they weren't where we were and we didn't ..............The usual spots held good numbers of birds and with the dogs working hard we managed to squirt a few down and put a bag together. By the end of the first day the dogs were knackered. its really hard going for them working in the bracken and briars. The second morning we were up at 6am to flight duck on the foreshore, there is normally plenty of teal around at this

There are two types of TB mind .Bovine and soil born .The extensive culls around me have been going for years but still the badger survives in isolated pockets on areas that refused the cull .They tell us the areas depleted are now TB free but I've yet to see any paperwork backing up that claim and farmers will tell you anything having paid thousands towarxs the cull . .We have a large deer population too but ive only ever shot one that showed internal infection through TB . I'e pts several badgers with the lack lustre look of the disease whilst out lamping ,a reed that no doubt would get

  40. That's something I wouldn't know, but the lad I was shooting with on Sunday was telling me that all the kids in his sons class had to be tested for TB. Not because one of them had been in contact with old Billy Boy but with a Billy Boy who'd joined their class from Africa. Apparently there's been a few cases. The head master has been seen setting snares but they'll probably just vaccinate

He phones up sounding like he is going to be shot at dawn and tells me that another associate has taken over a dealership so now he is worried that this bloke is a competitor. I really don’t see it like that because being in business most of my adult life you learn to look for the opportunity in every situation.....because there always is one. So I tell my friend to get on the phone to the bloke right away, congratulate him and ask him to keep us in mind for all of the side of the business that his dealership woul
