Had a couple of nights out camping in the mountains this past week,myself & 3 stinking curs in a tent..anyways it was great to be out & about & enjoy the scenery & wildlife that call these mountains their home..back on the road tomorrow to do it all over again but this time in a different location ?

My old sidekick in life Ruby is still putting in the hard miles,in 30 hours on this trip the old girl covered 23.6 miles up in the mountains,not bad considering she will be 15 year's old on the 20th of July,her eyesight is failing & she has several tumours that she's had for 18 months now but whatever kills her certainly won't be due to lack of fitness/exercise,she will still be rolling along when the others are on their arses ?

Boots..time passes by so quickly as I'm sure many on here will recall him as a puppy,he will be 9 this upcoming October 1st..he's been a fair tool for me he has, hopefully get one more season out the old fella & that'll be him done..it's been a great journey we've travelled that's for sure ?

Everything is going to go up, my pal who has a shipping firm said they are seeing rates of $15000 a 40ft box feom China at the moment and it may go as high as $20,000 !! They were $3000 for as long as I can remember. Shows how much we are relying on overseas import......as a continent we just have to stop buying from China full stop, It’s total f***ing madness imho

Went to check out this plantation that was planted 30 years ago I’d guess, I remember the old keeper planting it and it was before my youngest daughter was born and she is 26 now . Last year the harvester went in to thin it out and as they usually do they made a mess with all the branches scattered everywhere making walking difficult. I have been looking for runs for my snares , but all my old favourites have been ruined. One thing to come of the thinning is that sunlight is now able to reach the ground and Mother Nature has carpeted the plantation in a sea of cow parsley and forget me nots .

Well I've been looking for a spare rifle a week or so and settled for a 2021 hw100 with receipt bought in March scope silencer 2 mags case all for 600 don't think it was a bad price to be honest. In girly .177 shell be getting zeroed tomorrow and bunny bashing Thursday. Will get pics up soon

One of the lads that works for me has been asked by the farmer he rents his cottage from to make use of a wood and lake that he has that is going to waste. So we have been down getting it sorted and ready to use. I will probably spend more time down there than in my house. Lake has got some real nice carp in it and there’s a chalk stream that runs along the back of the lake. Apart from running water it’s got everything you need. A place for eating a place for a fire pit a pizza oven and a compost toilet.

does anybody here also use a leaf blower for ratting? i normaly do ratting with terriers with the water hose and with my ferrets. but sometimes both ferrets and water can not reach the rats. i had that happen one day when the rats where inside a fire wood stash and i saw a big petrol leaf blower near by i treid it and it did work to scare the rats out so that my dogs could get them. after this i started wondering would a electric leaf blower also work? and after this i bought a cheap 18v imitation makita leaf blower. i tested it yesterday in a similar situation and yes it did work. so i'm ver

You can't beat the outdoor life at this time of year. Looks a nice set up Ken, im jealous of the lake, that's something I really want for my place

Its the perfect place for a bit of outdoor cooking, im starting to get food out the polytunnel now so with that and the eggs and venison I can eat ok of the place!
