  6. Well I,ve knocked up a steel fronted feeder as the backstop has to be steel, I soon found that the .177 Fields and Express turn them into colanders in no time. Screwed this feeder to a dead tree and laced it with aniseed oil, all it needs now is some B&M Bargains peanuts Here's the feeder Here's the location, I will build a natural hide to and around the tree with dead wood , camo netting etc atb. 9. I read thread this thread when it started and thought you've been getting some good detailed advice so there was nothing l could add. Then l remembered what it was like when l had my first air rifle. In those far off days we started off with whatever rifle we could afford or was handed down to us. Most of them were pretty crude compared with what is in use today. A rifle like your xorcet would've been a thing of dreams. Persevere with it ! Forget pointy pellets; the Rws should be pretty good or maybe a heavy Jsb. We had to make do with what was cheapest in the local shop, usual

  12. What relevance has how good it is at earth work when he wants to cross it with a running dog? It's his bitch and if he wants a leggy type of tyke out of it then crack on bud. Too many on here think the only working terrier is one that goes to ground and your wrong!

  16. That’s not my point I was getting at fella my point is what’s the point in putting pups on the ground out of a bitch that by next year would of only completed one season work ? by one season you can’t honestly know if a dogs really got what it takes to be a useful seasoned worker when it’s still learning it’s trade.shelters are full of dogs were people have sentimental bred dogs it’s a pointless exercise Mate. what will this cross offer that a work bred whippet hasn’t already got in hand ? unless there only being bred for money ?? Your dog up to you what you do with it at the end of the day

  19. after been house bound for several days due to severe rain and winds,i decided on the spur of the moment to head out to where the goats USED to be ..and took the 2 kelpie pups and the old dog Sonic and the Saluki bred Lucifer with me for a jaunt ,they too were kennelled up due to the weather,I left late and arrived just before 9 a.m....met the landowner ,had a chat and went on my way..He told me not a goat had he seen in 12 months ,so i was expecting that and no surprise..I threw the 223 over my shoulder and the mutts speeding around ,enjoying their new found freedom ,we hit the roughest spot

  21. How has no one noticed that front scope ring not seated right? LOL I don't shoot airguns anymore but I'd be dubious how firmly your scope is seated mate. Bring that front scope mount a touch back so it sits flush with the scope tube and isn't canted up by the taper of the objective lens.

  22. When will you lot let it go ? I’m from Gloucester and it pisses me off !!! I was driving along the M5 / M6 and it was “Nottinghamshire , Robin Hood country ” , “ Warwickshire , Shakespeare country “ , then I drove home to Gloucestershire and there was nobody of note , all I could think of was “ Welcome to Gloucestershire ..... Fred West Country “ ???

  23. I'm really thrilled this has sparked such conversation The conclusion i have come to is HMR will usually kill a fox cleanly. The closer the better and there's a greater chance it will be a slower kill than a larger round- thus it's not ideal. But if you put it in the right spot it will usually do the job. It does seem some of the issues with the HMR is under penetration/excess fracturing on superficial impact. This seems more of a risk with head shots. Would a solid tip be more suitable for head shots perhaps? Or could that tiny round over penetrate

I was walking closely along the edge ,when i saw sonic freeze, that distinctive stare in to nothingness but you know its not just nothingness, its nothingness with somethingness thrown in ....he froze and stared and i knew he knew.... so i dropped off the ridge and scrambled on to the next one ,where i could hear the bleating of Goats ,GLORIOUS f***ing GOATS....and looking far out i could see them..not many ,but some ...more than ive seen in a very long time so all was good ... i was praying the old b***%*d wouldnt take off on one and spoil the whole show ,so i grumbled at the mutt, and

  27. Everyone should be encouraged. Too much protection of stalking rights and too much industry promoted regulation. f**k all like that in NZ and their reds are doing just fine for it. Id love absolutely nothing more than to be pointed at the most wild lump of Scotland and told to “crack on”!

  31. Does it make the pups any better if the bitch works underground ? After all a whippet x border Lakeland isn’t going to go to ground... it’s a ratching dog, bred to hunt rabbits ect. I fully understand the bitch has to be a mature dog to breed from.

  37. After receiving the invitation, I started to clean the oil from my usually unused shotgun. Then I put 3 alarms to be able to wake up at 2am and drive ~150km until the hunting area. The day was windy and cold with some thin ice near shores but the place was excellent - a huge are filled with artificial lakes and not harvested rice fields near the Danube. I was a terrible shot but I somehow managed to shot 24 ducks from 6:30 until 1 pm (2 of them not in the pictures, destroyed by prey birds before having the chance to recover them). Drive back home for another 2h and then start taking off t
