I have been throwing quite a bit of bait down recently on one of the farms I go on. Canada geese, pigeons out of date chicken etc and all of it has gone in no time. Anyway I was helping with the silaging there over the weekend and on Monday night I thought it would be a good idea to go and try a few different loads I knocked up. I also thought there might be a Canada or 50 about. Myself and my mate went up with the hardox fox targets and shot at them up to 400 yds with the 243s. As darkness fell I had a look around with the thermal to see if there were any foxes about. Well at 10.30 one appear7 points

Rolls-Royce is creating 400 jobs in Derby and Warrington to support the growth of its small modular reactor (SMR) programme. SMR is expected to generate £52 billion in economic benefit and create 40,000 British jobs by 2050. 80% of the components will be built in the UK. Few jobs coming up in nuclear ?6 points

These kind of shootings did not happen in the fifties .A lot of the problems America is having is down to the breakup of the family unit ,drug abuse ,mental health issues , etc .6 points

I always give it a real good try and i will with these. Although looking at the vixens i reckon the cubs will be self sufficient by now. If i can't just get at them i will leave them a regular supply of canadas etc until i can get to them. I wouldn't like to starve to death myself so i am not going to inflict it on something else if i can help it.?6 points

I get that, I do. This shit ain't normal. But people like yourself have come the conclusion that it's fact that gun legislation and enforcement will stop this and that it is bans that is the goal, rather than actually stopping the killings. When that is simply not a conclusive fact. American politics is polarised as f**k recently, to the point that the discussions on everything are f***ing ridiculously childish. There's no meaningful discussion towards compromise. Politics is broken. Legislation shouldn't be off the table. But when do we ever review the effectiveness of legislation that r5 points

And this is the sickness I’m talking about, if those pictures are authentic then you just know that the modern world would have encouraged this mental illness instead of staging and intervention and getting him help, he would have been encouraged in media and medicine to feel alienated and angry and oppressed, he would have been told that everyone is against him for being different……nobody, and I mean nobody, would have been saying “Here, behave yourself, you need serious help” and getting him that help. This is the world we live in with so many things not just being confused about wether4 points

But again we’re back to the abnormal . children exposed to weapon presence at an age of innocence and the idea of armed guards at every school . Ffs . Is that seriously what we’ve come to as a world ? it’s a tragic conundrum4 points

Everyone knows this is total bullshit but the propergander keeps on rolling with fcuking wankers like basc who have their own agenda and that is not to aid most shooting men and women. To be honest, go into half a dozen rfds and ask if they know from the ammo suppliers what is actually the plan, NOBODY knows for sure. I think it is safe to say we will be forced into buying steel shot cartridges for shooting live quarry although I have heard it said that clay shooting grounds will be allowed to use lead shot. Rimfire will stay on lead and pellets will also stay on lead as to centrefire, we4 points

I can’t even begin to describe how terrible this is, and I was sitting thinking about it last night because I have always been pro freedom which means normal law abiding people should be able to own a gun…..and after hearing this I questioned if I could still hold that view. Then I realised, “should people be able to own a gun” is the wrong question imho…… I came to the conclusion that talking about gun legislation is like putting a plaster on an amputated leg……the problem is sooo much bigger than the tools used to commit these terrible tragic outrages. No, we should ask how do4 points

I've had a long, hard day. I'm Fukked. But, I just been dealing with my man here. I'm So pumped, I just have to tell ye about him! Here he is! I got him a week back, Saturday. The cost of him was extortionate. The cost of the taxi was un fukking imaginable!!! But, hell yeah! He's worth it! I've kept my mouth shut, thus far, because I wanted to get him settled in and acclimated. When I got him, he was barely two inches. Now, he's closer to two and a half. They said he was eating crickets? Uh huh. I bought a dozen frozen pinkie mice anyway. I've raised one of These fukkers befor3 points

Who are you referring to as the nan himself, if its ac then no he didn't although a lot of pups were sold by using his name he actually only sold a couple and also gifted a couple and the men that got them can verify this,I think there were 2 different lads in USA, got 4 pups3 points

With mixed pedigree you always get the odd freak, good or bad but those rarely produce themselves for the vary reasons they were produced. Better a more stable gene pool to throw consistency.3 points

You can't just ban guns on a 'could' or 'might'. I think people have to understand that banning the AR or 'assault rifles', though workable, isn't going to have the impact they want it to. There are millions already in circulation. Aggressive intelligence driven raids by the ATF/FBI to sterilise the US of these guns will be a level of tyranny that wouldn't just be opposed by the hard core NRA fraternity. It would be frowned on by all but the most left wing. It would likely be counter productive and make a lot of centrists embrace 2A. It's unthinkable imo. A softer ban would do nothing to3 points

I wonder if there are as many cops (or anywhere near) in the US as school children/students? I very much doubt it but I honestly don't know. And that sort of illustrates my point on the state of the discussion in US politics over this. It's a lovely little 'fact' that it's more dangerous to be a student than a cop, but does it hold up to scrutiny?3 points

Social and economic are related it's very easy to find the negatives. Solutions not problems springs to mind. Some folk only want to spread negativity and hate, I just thought one positive topic out of hundreds might be okay lol. Mental health is a big issue atm and I feel we can all get caught up in the news and lunacy of it all, when there's actually lots of good stuff going on , but most folk it seems would rather fester in demoralising negativity....soon be Christmas...3 points

i will be the first to say i dont know much about hare coursing and saluki types on huge land,NONE of which are around my part of the country but i can recognize class when i see it. ive always liked this dog watching him run time and time again on these old clips. he seemed to always be in control and could power up to his hare and from there was always in the driving seat.2 points

Good post mate ? Thing is mate, as you know, when it’s a thing in America then Europe isn’t far behind and politically and socially we are already there. Jmho2 points

The root of this is surely a societal/cultural problem. We can't have a proper discussion into why it's happening because it gets drowned out by the argument of banning guns vs. arming everyone! I mean, surely to f**k the place to start is let's ask 'why do these things happen'? Why does a person in the #1 country in the world decide one day to go and do such a horrific act, and why does it keep happening? Nah, we'll just go straight in for the well thought out solutions..... US politics is more fractured that UK or Euro politics these days. It's a battlefield. Just look at the two people2 points

This is the problem. How do you know it would? These acts are basically acts of suicide. Do you think a suicidal maniac with a broken head and an AR cares about facing armed resistance? I agree the measure could reduce fatalities by shortening the response time.2 points

Brother, I moved from a place where fencing kids in and having security systems akin to a jail are normal in schools……I went to a place where they don’t have any of that, I mean it just doesn’t exist. And why should it ?……it’s not normal ! I spoke to a few people when I first came here about it because I had been so conditioned to “it’s what you need to do to protect kids” and people just looked at me like I was mentally ill !…….and do you know what, they were right, I was mentally ill because thinking we need to lock kids away from the monsters instead of dealing with a perversion o2 points

I'm not saying I'm correct or accurate but this is just my gut feeling. First when you go along the 'they don't need this type of weapon' debate then you completely miss the American connection to guns. Guns and the right to guns is part of the American dna. I knew 2 yanks years ago from following the bulls in Spain. Neither were hunters or target shooters, neither were gun nuts. At the time I think california had banned fully auto guns. Both had bought numerous to store under their houses before the ban came in. They saw it as their duty, even though neither really had interests in guns2 points
