Me and a mate had different plans for today but they fell apart at the last minute. We had to find something to do as consolation so decided on a wander with the 410s. Had a great morning in the end.12 points

This has turned into an amazingly lengthy thread? The subject is obviously very important to a lot of guys.. I've scant understanding of these phenomenal coursing dogs,...but my close friend has an almost Encyclopedic knowledge of both the early breeding, and the contemporary bloodlines... He is kind enough to educate me when the fancy takes him,..alas, I make a poor pupil...? What I have noticed, is that these stunning canine athletes are starting to become, a recognisable type.. It is obvious that a certain specific appearance and physicality, suits the tasks laid be8 points

Haven’t been out bolting to the dogs for a while. Went for a couple of hours this morning. My mate brought his ferrets. The busher bolted a few from cover and the ferrets bolted a few. Missed a few but not a bad little bag.7 points

These people live in a world where honour, truth, respect and all things that are "right" to normal people, have no meaning. Lord Archer, jailed for perjury, lying in court, still has his peerage. Lord Mandleson, sacked twice for corruption, and then made a lord. Theres many more. Its just a continuation of the ancient practice of giving out baubles to people who have done favours, and who use that bauble, a peerage, a knighthood , titles and letters after their names, to make contacts and make money. Throw out a few meaningless MBE's to the dinner ladies, lolly pop me7 points

Same here Stav , left home and weather was OK but by the time I got to my destination , a farm near the moors the wind had picked up and it was horizontal rain..... I was there so decided to see if any rabbits were out , luckily I took my quad sticks to shoot from as usually use my twin sticks. I put a tea towel which I had in the car in my gamebag as I was constantly having to dry my glasses and scope ....what a ballache I can tell you. Some rabbits I couldn't shoot as I simply couldn't see them through the scope .Anyway it made for interesting and challenging shooting , testing my resolve to7 points

Back when the BWRA had a 32 lb limit, there was huge wastage in non-ped Whippet litters as they tried to breed down Greyhound blooded dogs to meet the weight limit. Us "up north" usually had a 21" limit, and some clubs had no- limit, as we raced handicaps, not yards per pound, so the dogs that went above the weight limit got sent up here, and we had some tremendously fast scratch dogs, that would, without doubt, take hare and roe. Then the BWRA eased the rules on the amount of Greyhound blood a non-ped could carry, and raised their weight limit to 55 lb !! I got banned from the7 points

The main thing for me is the fact that basic non competitors can now enter the competitive world of fight sports and if your face fits get taken seriously......and why boxing ? why not football or cricket......we know theres always been a bit of showbiz attached to boxing but this caper is just going too far....i wouldnt wish injury on any sportsman but if im sitting in Canelos shoes or the equivalent top notch mma guy im half hoping one of these lads gets hurt and put an end to this nonsense.6 points

I really wanted to go for a ruff wander today but I’ve been getting plagued by the lad at the sheep farm about the pigeons on the rape, so me, Mosh and longshanx met there for a go at them, god, I wished I’d gone for a wander, 4 hours for 3 pigeons, it’s not even they wouldn’t decoy, they just weren’t about, I even tried the make a cup of tea trick, but still they didn’t come Feeding tomorrow, so maybe I’ll have a walk around the forestry with the little.225 points

For a Southern OAP,.the Heather moorland sure takes some handling,..? It is such a physical effort and comes as a shock,...I guess ya need to become used to walking over such a terrain. The bonus for me is in the sheer diversity of wildlife that you encounter... Hopefully one day, I can take another stroll with my wee cur,...she loved her first, and only mouch...?4 points

Had four drives on a small shoot today. Ended up with a modest bag of 27 head. Fifteen pheasant, nine mallard and three teal. Lovely day to be out was enjoyed by all involved, had a good craic with the lads. Picture has come out sideways for some reason? Apologies....4 points

How Bliar and his sidekick Alistair Campbell can appear on chat shows etc pretending that they are regular, decent human beings is beyond me. They've got some bottle. A lot of Islamic attacks on the West is down to them.4 points

I’ve never understood the come home from work and crack open a can of beer, I love a drink in good company and will drink my fill, never appealed to sit at home watching the box and drinking though…. Not a dig at those that do, just not for me…. got a 40th in Surrey this weekend, then won’t drink for a while, nothing going on so no need… usually do a couple of months start of the year with not a drop4 points

It’s not about shooting pigeons it’s about keeping farmer john happy so I can still do what I want up there, shooting them on winter rape is ok as long as it’s not freezing and they are not flocked up, I’ve had some good days at them in the past in January and February on rape when the temp is up a bit and there’s nothing else for them to eat3 points

I don’t live a million miles away the people I heard with a opinion are normally ex Londoners that have moved from the city to live rural they complain about everything rural from the sound of cockerels crowing in the distance to a bit of mud on the roads. what there hating is there’s more traffic heading to his farm/shop there still in a rush like they live in the city most people who live round the area are not fussed we think it’s great his farm an his shop because it’s good for the area even better when they take part in a charity Christmas tractor run raising money for a local charity…….C3 points

Just my own thoughts, but I feel Blair, Mandelson and Campbell thought we would vote remain in the EU referendum, and Blairs ultimate goal was President of Europe. A man with no honour, no principles and no loyalty.....he would have suited the job perfectly. Now with The Order of the Garter he is firmly established in the heart of the Establishment, and will be able to get up to all the mischief he wants. Cheers.3 points
