Haha, how many had that conversation in households across the land mate. I don’t want to get too soppy about it but I just felt a great sadness that a very public face of a generation of men, all that was good about us, passed away and in doing so took some of the last of what remains of Great Britain with him. I was sat with my 2 girls last night (17 & 18) watching the opening beach landing scene of “Saving Private Ryan” and said to them “Them lads were your age, your grandad & your great grandad did that!” They were very moved by that, and we spoke about how you g10 points

Teacher: If I gave you 2 rabbits, and another 2 rabbits and another 2, how many will you have? Johnny: Seven Sir Teacher: No, listen carefully. If I gave you 2 rabbits, and another 2 rabbits and another 2, how many will you have? Johnny: Seven Teacher: Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you 2 apples, and another 2 apples and another 2, how many will you have? Johnny: Six. Teacher: Good. Now if I gave you 2 rabbits, and another 2 rabbits and another 2, how many will you have? Johnny: Seven! Teacher: Where the **** do you get seven from? Johnny:9 points

My missus had a foot in both camps ,she was near to tears watching the tv all day , " the country should be so proud of him ,wasn't he handsome when young ,he must of been so brave during the war etc etc " Then she heard Emmerdale had been cancelled and like magic he became "one of those royal spongers ,why are they going on and on about it ..he was 99 for God's sake "8 points

Apart from his military service during WW2 the fact he started the duke of Edinburgh awards scheme, campaigned tirelessly to stop governments building on kids green areas and being a founder member of the WWF would be enough to hold him in high regard .......6 points

He was nearly 100 and lived a lot longer than most, so hardly a shock or a tragedy. I’ll doff my hat to his military service, but that aside, the whole ‘duty’ bit? I reckon most of us will have worked harder and lived a much less privileged life..., and would swap with him in a heartbeat. Ironic too that his death has sparked an outpouring of fawning sycophancy, the likes of which I think the man himself would have had no truck with. But the worst yet, is giving air time to a man who has refused now, for a year, to cooperate with the FBI and answer questions in regard to the rape of a minor.6 points

Well it arrived today it was delivered on a pallet and weighed over 200 pounds, took about an hour to put together, I gotta say I’ve never bought anything packed so well even the eternal plates and grills were in plastic bags in a form of oil to protect them. I followed the manual to the word as you have to prime the pellet smoker and do an initial burn off to burn off all the factory oils I did do a little cook on it just home made cheese burgers they came out fantastic moist Smokey and the smell was amazing no smoke leaks whatsoever just out of the chimney which you can regulate. i5 points

Here is the reality of Brexit......we are 3 months into having to do things differently than we have the last 50 years ! Did anyone seriously think it would be roses on day 1 ? The U.K. is disentangling itself from a set of rules that govern absolutely everything that is has been working with for half a century, it is having to establish a completely new way of trading and it is having to do it with the EU throwing every obstacle that it can in the way. Lets not forget, politically, the Eu can’t let the U.K. be seen to “win”......leaving the block must be a failure at all co5 points

I’ve bought 3 bags of pellets to get started, with my order I got a bag free and a discount on a cover, pellets work out at £17.50 per 9kg and you can regulate how much the pellets get fed into the smoker with a p button it works like 18 second feed then a 55 second pause with 7 different levels up to about 130 second pause (low and slow ) I think I’m going to cook a leg of lamb or maybe some ribs first I will keep you posted.3 points

Well nothing is moving very fast these cool temperatures. Runners look like somebody is camping in the garden Lol. I think they look alright on the inside though. Spuds in tubs doing okay but they are dragged in the shed every night. Three row of different Little Gems ordinary Little Gem, Intred Gems and Moon Red Gems. Onion sets are away and Carrot just showing, just planted out some Beet root this morning. Fleecing Toms every bloody night and Cucumbers are taking over the bay window, they need to go out to the Green house and bigger pots. Perhaps n3 points

The 'original' Duffus didn't have metal barrels. But the first ones put into mass production did. That was the success of Duffus traps - they could be mass produced. However, after Duffus himself sold the company, the new owner still stamped the traps "Duffus & Son" so I have no idea whether the trap I have is from the time that the Duffus family were running the company or after. My mate got most of his traps and shooting stuff from a company called Farmstar near Doncaster, but he can't remember where the tunnel trap came from as he also was give a lot of stuff by other people. When was it any different though mate.....its only because of the internet, social media and the general transparency of boxing these days that regular fans know about the drama.....but its always been there. Edited to add.....have a look at the Frank Warren documentary showing on Bt Sport to see drama outside the ring always has and always will surround boxing.2 points

On the subject of Northern Ireland and Brexit. I'm still waiting to see if it was the stupidest idea ever by the British government or the cleverest ? Maybe they are forcing the EUs hand, after all, it’s them wanted the border but didn’t want to admit it. If we take a lax attitude to NI ports then the EU will either have to swallow it or insist the Irish government put up a border in its own country !! The mask already slipped with article 16 which was quickly retracted. The UK forcing the EU to show it’s true colours or a bunch of total arseholes that made an incredibly2 points

I very much doubt thirty years ago would even be anywhere near far back enough. But, I have to ask; James Bateman, in his '71 work, " Animal Traps and Trapping " mentions ~ and shows a museum display mock up of ~ I believe it was a Monmouthshire (?) mole trap. Clearly considered archaic, even by then. Mind bending bloody thing! Basically a little, wooden run through tunnel with a trap door beneath it. Mole, supposedly, trundled through. Fell out of the trap door. Landed inside a big, earthenware urn that some lunatic had dug a bloody great pit and sunk it in! Now, as previo2 points

He's a funny one Conor Benn so unpredictable, their plan going in was to win the rounds ?.... make sure he wins rounds and only go wide open if an opening presents itself !....i liked what he said in his interview after " sometimes you just hit someone and it feels right"......fair play to the kid his energy and enthusiasm are lovely to watch. Thought it was a poor stoppage myself.....a referee shouldnt be stopping a fighter on his feet in the first round in my opinion.2 points

Depends on the land your wanting to hunt, I don’t think you live overly far away from me, what I will say Is hounds are not like any other type of dog in my experience, they do what they want to do not what you want them too do, the idea of them sounds great but having them is a different story around here there is too many restrictions, busy roads are everywhere, I got a couple off a mate last season they was full fox hounds, Iv been around hounds for most of my adult life just following different packs, you have to fully understand hounds and how they work to keep a pack to a decent st2 points
